Definitely props worthy. Especially considering some 3rd party groups have a hard time having various retailers taking a combined stock of 500 units over the initial month when preorder goes up.

I believe the original context of the 600 orders comment was specifically regarding the fact that their website/servers didn't crash (like the official Transformers Collectors' Club's website did earlier this year and has several times in the past when their exclusives go live) because that volume (600 in 3 days) is by far lower than the number of orders processed once ordering for the Club Exclusives (Runamuck and Runabout this year) goes live, so in that context, no, it is definitely not props-worthy.

However, I will definitely agree that aside from that context, and by itself, that a third party company with exclusively internet based advertising for their club and toys is definitely impressive and a great start for their exclusive service.

Dead Metal, if you really want this guy i'll be happy to middleman for you, for anybody here that really wants it. I've got a few folks that have done the same for me when getting stuff shipped straight to the US has been a ridiculous ordeal. If anyone is interested let me know. It should go without saying, but it won't cost y'all a penny more than it costs me.

Thank you...at least someone is paying attention. Yes, the original comment was giving FP credit for how smoothly they handled that peak rush of 50 or 60 orders over the course of an hour! Mad props for their servers being able to handle an order per minute at their busiest time! Of course this is FansProject we're talking about here... They could fart and the groupies would gush over how sweet the new fragrance they've created was...

No this is not FansProject, this is another group that sells their stuff and gets exclusives, kinda like the TFCC.
And seeing how the guy who posted that comment singed up solemnly to post that, I think it's safe to say that he's associated with them and tried to divert attention away from the stupid shipping.

If crying bout trivial things is going to be a necessity perhaps we should have a sub-forum for it. That way the rest of us who paid and are interested in the product can actually have a reason to check the thread when a post is made.

Unfortunately shipping from China right now is not an option. Although the manufacturer is located in China, they are a distributor who wholesales to larger companies and only have shipping setup with the dealers they distribute to.

Think of the Fans Project Core community as one of those dealers / distributors. We are just sanctioned by Fans Project to get exclusive releases and support the fans. Our operations are only located in North America and at this time no plans are in the works to do otherwise. We are working toward the future and your ideas are valued, but not feasible at this time.

Keeping your Steel Core in your shopping cart will not reserve you copy or guarantee that it will be available to you once they are sold out.

Well, there is a super easy fix to that.
Don't subscribe to the thread then, take a look at the Options section below the posting field and remove the tick at "Notify me when a reply is posted".

And complaining about the shipping in a thread about a product that is so far only offered by a special store that tries to get as many people as possible to join it, is very valid. Especially considering that it's been purposely set so high.

especially when the first post in the thread mentioned the shipping. the intent was to spark a discussion, not only about how the toy looks, but about the actual pre-order process, including pricing.

What I want to know is if this exclusive pre-order version is different from the standard release, or if the exclusive here is simply to have it before the regular release comes out?

From what I understand this paint job is the exclusive & a red & blue primary paint scheme will be the general release version.

I'm starting to wonder if there will be only one repaint.
also, I'm betting the price will stay high, since these parts are all molded in different colored plastics, instead of painting.
In this case repaint may not mean cheaper.

has this actually been confirmed, or at least strongly rumoured by anyone with credibility? Whilst I get the Powermaster Prime comparisons, if that's the case, and this is the only chance to get this colour scheme...

If I get another Optimus, especially at that price, I'll hunt down the Henkei. PM OP was only really good for his battle station mode. I'll pass on a mini-Powermaster War Within Prime, but would have this new generic Transformer dude.

I have no idea where or how you got this idea. Its the first I've even heard of a repaint. If the group has planned one, it wouldn't be released for over a year at this point. The colors shown for Steel Core are the main colors, and there isn't another recolored main release planned at this time.

I read the email Dead Metal got. Theres no contradiction. They were simply comparing to how the distribution for Steel Core works, compared to distributors and retailers FansProject deals with. The main keyword in there was "think". Obviously the group is not going to respond back in the email the full details of how exactly Fansproject Core works. The best they'll do is give an easy explanation as not everyone understands the inner workings for something like this.

Anyways, for anyone still thinking Fansproject Core is just a separate group, with some sort of license. FansProject would not bother releasing a new figure through a group, with just 800 pieces. Thats a big loss financially, and no one makes money. Plus, we should have seen a price tag of $100+ before shipping for Steel Core. The fact the pricing is less than what a retailer will be charging off the bat, even at $79.99 price tag, shows FansProject is definitely a big part of FansProject Core.

that Steelcore figure looks good. i was doing a pre-order on the website, until i saw the shipping charge.
50 dollars shipping for a 70 dollar figure? that's just ridiculous. i'll wait 'till he's out and see if i can find him somewhere cheaper
