“DING” “DING”
THE WINNER IS……… HOS

Don't hurt yourself. Buy them both  Although, we haven't seen anything new from the HOS version in quite some time.

So far I am completely sold on the Causality line. I'm very excited to see what the last two spots will be. =P~

The reason why I still going to get the HOS version is because I’m on a limited budget and they so far have stayed in a reasonable price area.

That is understandable. But, supposedly, these three figures should be released one at a time, a month apart from one another at about 40-50 dollars. Maybe less. That makes them a little more affordable.

Ooooooo....... your right

These look so much more like the deluxe Insecticons to me than the original trio. At least in alt mode and that the bot modes aren't really so close. That and I can't imagine that these would see a simultaneous (or close to) release in such similar colors. The multi-colored nature of the deluxes makes far more business sense to me. However, I will gladly buy these no matter what colors they come in.

You beat me too it. I agree. They look more like the deluxe insecticons to me as well but they are ambiguous enough to pass for both deluxe and cartoon insecticons if painted properly. They just need a Venom mold and they have a full set.
I can't decide to either wait and see if they repaint them to the deluxe or just release Shrapnel, Bombshell and Kickback.
Or just buy em and hope for deluxe repaints..... Conundrum.
Either way....it would be VERY expensive to get a full set of both teams from FP if they repainted. VERY EXPENSIVE.
A nice Classics Ransack with clear plastic wings would be DEADLY!!!. I keep my G1 in bug mode because he looks waaay better than his bot mode. Plus the deluxes have shite articulation and need these repaints.

I don't mind what Insecticon team it is based off of. But, based on the name alone, I'd say it's the trio from the cartoon.

These guys are a bit bulky, especially Stormshred and Thunderbomb, but they look incredible. Fansproject understands the perfect equation of modern homages and satisfying simplicity. I cant wait to see the rest of the FP reveals this year.

Exactly, you guys nailed it. Seriously there is really nothing to complain about on these figures.
The contemporary G1 figures that they are, its just EXACTLY what TFs should look like more overall. Those weapons too, integrations into insect mode. I never thought a blocky robotic cricket could actually look sick... maybe it's coz most people would tottaly ruin the design... but not FP.

They're expensive, and they don't have guns.

Yes, the melee weapons are pretty, but "Stormshred" should have some sort of explosive weapon that produces shrapnel, and those pitons "Backfire" carries don't exactly produce the sort of kickback you'd be looking for in an Insecticon's weaponry. And of course, "Thunderbomb" lacks the capacity to bomb or shell anyone. Properly renamed these Insecticons would have to be Slash, Stab, and Poke.

Bombshell would disappoint me the most, as he'd have no way to fire his cerebro shells or disseminate clone seeds!

Shrapnel has a hole at the tip of this head in insect mode, perhaps thats where he fires his weapon to create 'shrapnel'. Bombshell has shoulder mounted guns, perhaps they fire canistors that are bombs, and maybe his horn in insect mode is able to charge itself to fire concentrated whatever like a shot of lightning. Kickback has..lots of knives, good enough.
When they're this much of an improvement over other TF figures, you can usually fix the small problems by just giving them a gun in bot mode, or using a little imagination that the figure lends itself to. I personally like the melee weapons, enough of my TFs have guns anyway.

Personally I've never associated the Insecticons with weapons in any major way based on their names, just as I don't think Shockwave should shoot shockwaves or Lazerbeak should shoot lasers from his beak or Bumbebee should release swarms of bees on his enemies.

If enough people want it, I'm sure someone will release another weapon kit for these guys, but personally I love the ninja-inspired melee weapons - particularly as they are something fairly fresh for TFs.

After a day's consideration I've decide that I'll be preordering 5 of each in cartoon colours and if we see the deluxe remoulds (almost a certainty) and the Diaclone/clone army recolours (less likely but another possible reuse of the moulds) I'll be down for 1 each of those. 1 in bot mode and 4 in bug mode of each should give a suitably swarm like look. Gonna be pricey but I'm taking a big pass on most to all of the movie figures so should be doable, especially over 3 months.

Fan's Project, I think I love you.

While I know these are meant to be the classic 3 Insecticons, I could easily see all 3 molds repainted as Barrage, Chopshop and Ransack.

No. Munitioner and Explorer were $50.00 a piece, due to having loads of accessories. Accessories that made them combine with other pre-existing figures.

These are figures with weaponry accessories only. No combinations, no accessories for other figures.

I'd say it could be about $100.00 for the set of three, but they most certainly won't be $50.00 a piece, or even close.

i wouldnt go that far as to say 100 a piece. theyre most likely scout size and even if not and theyre close to deluxe theyd be closer to 70-80 same as defender. my quess is theyll be around 40-50 a piece. considering the value here they worth it regardless imho :D
