Galvatron is easily one of my top 5 favorite Transformers, so my standards for an MP incarnation are incredibly high. The first attempt (DX9) really did not tickle my fancy, but this guy.....damn is he close. I don't even know if TT could do a better job.

Now THAT is a Galvatron. The hands are a little iffy but they're better than the DX9 ones. Unless Takara or Maketoys makes one this might be the definitive MP Galvatron.

Considering I had Tyrant pre-ordered, and subsequently cancelled AFTER payment went through at BBTS because of images of this guy, I feel that I HAVE to get him (unless TakaraTomy presents one).

As long as he can point properly and "choke" Hot Rod, I'm ok with his hands

Looks awesome, but I am going to wait to see what X-transbots out out with Abaddon. I may get this, but I dislike the Orange fun barrell. I like the goldish Orange like DX-09 Tyrant, but I like the solid look of this rendention over that. They did seem to get his torso correct and the head sculpt is fabulous..but it feels a bit bulky like most of Fanstoys figures..maybe after Abaddon is released. Some good reviewer will give us a play by play of how all three stack up, as it stands, I may be waiting until 2018 before Takara Tomy releases an official version. Honestly, Appollyon is an amazing figure. Takara will have to be on their game to beat him. I absolutely love my Apollyon 2nd batch. I bought special deception stickers both for his hand and chest, and he is absolutely Megatron in my book. So I can't wait to see Abaddon, but this guy looks great, and I am going to stay on the fence until I see them all.

Why y'all hatin the hands?

My one criticism is his arms in cannon mode, too thin. But that's it. I loves.

IDK.. I think his hands look fine to me. sure in one image, with lighting it looks like the top of the fist is flat, but in other images the hands look fine to me. But In the Dx-09 Version they did the slats/struts right for the forward roller treads.. But on this FT version, they use the actual arms.. very out of place. I do not like the Altmode at all..

What bothers me to no end is the way these 3Ps are doing the alt mode.. It always looks like they just stick the canon on Galvatron's neck, which isn't how the design should be. Galvatron has a housing that protrudes from the neck and cradles the canon within it, and makes the gun look way cooler then they pulled of in this image and the DX-09 Tyrant.

It looks like they kept many aspects of the G-1 toy.. okay for some, But for me, I prefer the actual movie look, and I am hoping that X-Transbots gets that correct.. I mean, Fanstoys got the bot mode pretty dead on actually.. But for me, Again, I am on the fence for now, because I want to see a proper Bot and Alt mode, and so far.. these two 3P Galvatrons have not met the bar.. I have two more choices so far.. the Abaddon, or possibly if they ever get around to it, a takara Tomy version.. Hopes and prays for a perfect Galvatron..

G-1 1986 Movie art images: The Next Galvatron should capture this alt mode look

Honestly, I know there are minute differences between the 1986 Movie Galvatron and the season 3 Galvatron.. But I prefer the 1986 movie look. I know the voice actor for Galvatron in Season 3 was Frank Welker, who played a different voiced and very insane Galvatron.. But Leonard Nimoy will always be the badass Galvatron to me, the movie version was always the best.

Following Optimus Prime's death, Megatron was rebuilt by Unicron into Galvatron. Though Galvatron at first proved to be a potently cunning Decepticon leader, he suffered brain damage following his defeat at the hands of Rodimus Prime. Galvatron was now a screaming, unpredictable madman who would turn on his own soldiers as readily as his enemies.

Diverging timelines took Galvatron in two paths. In one, Galvatron fled to space with Scorponok following a failure to blow up the sun, Earth, and Cybertron. In another, Galvatron became buried under ice by the Headmasters and eventually returned as Super Megatron with the aid of Dark Nova.

I never understood why there was a difference in Galvatron from the Movie to how he was in Season 3, until I read this on the TF wiki site..

Now I understand.. Galvatron was a brain damaged insane leader of the dysfunctional Decepticons..

Bottom Line, I think that DX-09 Tyrant pulls off a better Alt mode, that is more sleek in it's look, and less blocky with details all over the place. Galvatron has a smooth sleek Blaster canon Altmode.. However, Fanstoys Sovereign pulls off the Bot mode much more solidly and looks very close to perfect with some bulky exceptions.. and the dreadful color of the canon IMHO.. Like I said, I like the Golden Orange ver. of Tyrant's gun the best.. I hope the final release of FT's Sovereign has a better Canon color in the final..

Next up.. Let's see if Third try is the charm when X-Transbots brings their "Not" Galvatron to production..If they can pull off both Alt Mode and Bot mode correctly.. >:oP it's hard work to do, I know, but if they can do an Apollyon, then they can definitely do a Galvatron.. BUT let's do without the QC issues this time guys okay.. I don't want to have to wait for another 2nd batch.. to get a good Galvatron.. should be good the first time it comes out on the market. I do hope they don't use his arms for the forward tread struts, it looks horrible on Sovereign..Also, check out images online with the Movie Galvatron, his chest has a pretty sizeable Decepticon symbol on it, in the FansToys and DX-09 versions, they have a very tiny spot to place a logo..But if you look below on Abaddon, the chest is actually long enough to accommodate a pretty decent sized Decepticon logo, so already that is an improvement over these released so far
Image

Image

I am really interested now after owning and enjoying their take on classic G-1 Megatron with Apollyon (2nd Batch). Oh, and BTW, the leg bits.. I made them lock into place.. You don't have to worry about the tabs, they are soft, and lifted slightly over the bar, they sit into place quite nicely, and as an added bonus, the grey and red section actually stays put with the tucked in bits, and the legs are now solid and stronger then they felt before with the tabs sticking out willy nilly.. see my pic attached below..

Image

I packed up my MP-05 Megatron.. But kept the Kremzeek figure, cause he looks awesome on Apollyon.. they should do a bunch of Kremzeeks for 3P sale.. Apollyon should really also have a Kremzeek..

Image

Hmm.. I seem to have turned this into an Apollyon love fest.. but the point is made.. We need a good Galvatron.. especially if he is done based directly on the movie and the late great Leonard Nimoy.. He's got to be as good as Apollyon.. if not better.

One more thing.. In season 2, episode 11 "Microbots" The Decepticons finally locate their old ship missing since the crash on Earth millions of years ago. Above all else on it, Megatron wants and claims the Heart Of Cybertron. He becomes more powerful than ever and easily crushes anyone who stands against him. This is all very bad, but it threatens to get worse. The Autobots learn that the Heart Of Cybertron will soon explode and take many with it including Megatron himself. The only way to tamp down this threat is for Perceptor, Bumblebee and Brawn to embark on a 'fantastic voyage.' Megatron's body proves most inhospitable to the three Autobots, but inner conflicts also threaten their mission.

The Inclusion of the Heart of Cybertron in the side of Megatron's chest was a nice touch for Apollyon.. but, if takara Tomy ever does the official, they should make a cartoon accurate Megatron chest cavity, like that of Optimus Prime..

see..
Image
Megatron's Chest Opens up left to right.. on a side hinge..
Image

The Heart of Cybertron sits in the Middle of the chest.. (this was before Optimus Prime got his Matrix and his chest open in the 1986 movie.
Image

Now, I stopped watching Transformers on Season 3. I know, I know.. I was one of those kids yes, who was traumatized by the death of Optimus Prime. I just couldn't watch the series anymore after that, and Rodimus Prime was in charge.. I have seen tho since I was a child, the Head masters series, and or Rebirth. I liked it, and am now going to rewatch Season 3-5 once I get a chance. I don't remember if Galvatron had any Nostalgia Gimmicks to offer like Apollyon's Brilliant Mind control Helmet for the fake Optimus Prime, or the Gun that took Prime down, or the light saber blade from the movie, or Megatron's awesome Sherman Dam ball and chain.. these accessories are a nice nod to the show, and brilliant Gimmicks I'd rather have then electronics and so on..

Other then the Matrix on a chain, does anyone remember if Galvatron's chest opens in the series? Is a Galvatron missing accessories from the show? I don't see too much Nostalgia Drops on these 3P Galvatrons.. I may have to watch Season 3 and on now to try to advocate for NOS Drops..I love the nostalgia Accessories.. Galvatron should have as many as Apollyon or MP-05.

Now on to research..

Sweet mercy skywarp-2, I forgot about Abaddon! For what it's worth, I'm happy with my Apollyon (first run), he was my first 3rd Party and still the best one I have!! To be fair, I only have him and Six Sigma

Thank you for all of the comparison shots. I'd say the only REAL problem I had with DX-9's Tyrant WAS his fingers. He pulls the look off great to me. Actually, they all do in their own way.

I also always liked Galvatron from TF:TM better, would prefer to forget that he was thrown into some plasma pool to fry his circuits, and pick him up in Headmasters (maniacal, but not AS insane as Season 3).

Regardless, this is a tough decision. It was much easier for me when there was only one version (DX-9). Since we haven't seen much of X-Transbots Abaddon (even though Andras and Eligos look incredible), I've kinda written them out.

LOL, Yea I was thinking about Abaddon as soon as I saw the FT announcement. I was hoping from the then only bot pics we got, that the final alt mode would be exceptionally done as well as the Bot.. What bothers me about the FT design is the Altmode, and some minor issues with the arms, and overall aesthetics. But Abaddon has been on my mind ever since I got my Apollyon. I got into the Masterpiece collecting very late recently as a matter of fact only 3 months ago. I had to play catch up and was intensely reading forum posts, watching reviews, and scouring different websites and sales posts between BBTS and TFDirect, to ebay, and Ali-express, to HLJ.com and many many more sites. By the time I was able to get Apollyon, I had missed the boat on the first issue, and got the 2nd batch. I am very very happy I did purchase him, as My MP-05 was so out of date, and knowing the designer only had 12 days to get the engineered product done for Takara's insane time schedule, I am much more sympathetic to the figure then I was before. But with Apollyon, X-Transbots just hit it out of the park. My 3P's so far include as follows:

1. MPP10 Oversized MP-10 Knockoff from Wei Jiang. (excellent masterpiece quality, high quality plastic, and no QC issues. Highly recommended for any Prime Fan!

2. M01 Oversized KO AOE Optimus Prime Remolded masterpiece from Wei Jiang. Same as far as QC and Quality as above. Wei Jiang is an exceptional company. Very solid figures, and paint apps, and you can be sure they do a great job. I am hoping Wei Jiang will tackle some other figures soon. I have some wonderful Ideas..

3. Takasa Tony: Yes, I am one of those people who believes the car bots relased thus far are way too expensive. 50.00 on average each, when even with them being masterpiece, they should be around a 25.00 price point, or 30.00. So I went with Takasa Tony on most of my car bots.

Wheel Jack
Blue Streak (diaclone Ver)
Red Alert
Side swipe
Prowl
Bumble Bee
Exhaust
Smoke screen

4. KO oversized CK Silver Anime color version of Grimlock. ( excellent quality, perfect scale for the MPs, and is just gorgeous on my shelf!)Highly recommended to replace the official Grimlock from Takara Tomy.. bet they do that for the rest of the Dinobots that come out, and I will be the first in line.

5. Apollyon (2nd Batch!) A highly coveted figure in my collection. Exceptionally made, easy to pose, looks amazing, and has both the G-1 cartoon flavor pulled off, as well as that touch of realism that seems to come across in the Transformers Devastation game. The Aesthetics, and the Nos Accessories are brilliant! I love the Helmet, the energon Sword, the energon Mace, the Pistol of betrayal, and the heart of cybertron (tho I wish they made his chest cavity open like the cartoon (but that's okay..still a badass figure).

I do have a question tho?
I Kept finding apollyon pics online where his legs were packed in and made him seem even more incredible with the tabs being locked down, and the legs looked much more like they were clean. Have you done or tried that yet to your Apollyon legs? at first, I was moving the metal pieces to try to move it around, and found out that there is a lip there that prevents those tabs from rotating inside the leg, then after seeing it online over and over again, I decided to get up the nerve and try it again, the plastic is actually pretty soft, the joint pin that holds it is solid, so it just took a light bit of lifting the soft plastic tab just over the lip, and bam, it fit into place and locked into the Grey and red bits, and the silver foot tab I rotated up into locked position as well, and BAM! I got perfect feet! Also, are half tempted as I am to get a bright red Paint pen with a felt tip to color his dark red eyes in? I am thinking about doing that so his eyes are more like the Hasbro MP-10 with a bright look to the red..

Yea, It is my pleasure to add as much details I can spot for us to make good decisions on what to buy and what not to buy. I have spent the last 4 months in that mode, and if anyone remembers me from when I was highly active on these forums before, I generally make really long posts, but I try to make it very fun, pic heavy, interesting and thought provoking as possible.. I mean this is 2016.. simple one word or simple posts like Twitter are so boring.. this is fun for me to put together.. wait till you see some more original post threads I am working on, you will want to pop popcorn for what I plan to unleash! LOL

anyhow, Yea, I was very very tempted to get the Dx-09.. but I decided to wait to see the FT Tyrant's altmode, and better images before making a decision. Then I came across the X-Transbots Abaddon.. and after just seeing the chest proportions in the 3D render, and the arms.. particularly the forearms, and the look matches the Anime perfectly.. I was hooked.. I think with the chest being large enough for a decent deception logo, I can use the same from Apollyon and the sticker sheet I bought for Galvatron's chest, which makes the logo/sigils around the same scale as Optimus Prime's Autobot sigil in the MP-10 scale. I just hope Abaddon isn't taller then Apollyon by very much like the DX-09.. that figure is too tall.. Abaddon should be the same scale as MP-10 or Apollyon.. since Rodimus isn't taller then prime, Galvatron should be the same scale (roughly) But overall, I am going to hold out for Abaddon, because based on the level of care and effort in Apollyon/Megatron I really feel that X-transbots may be the way to go for that character at least.. tho FT's Willis/Hound and Pheonix/Skyfire are definite future purchases!

I can't wait to get Abaddon.. I will be passing on the other two so far.. assuming Abaddon is done in the quality respect and has nostalgia items to make it worth the cost.

Another sample I've enjoyed in hand.

I really didn't think I'd like the shoulders when the images were first shown to the public, but I gotta say in hand it really does look great. Nice weight, easy to pose, and a nice overall color scheme.

I didn't transform the sample at the request of the manufacturer (something I admittedly screwed up in North Carolina) but just looking the figure over you can see how well the transformation will flow and where the parts are coming from.

Time to sell Tyrant, because I really dig this guy!

excellent! Great to hear someone has had their hands on this. So did it feel like a figure that fans of FT will enjoy? How did the initial sample stack up to previous FT releases and compare with Takara Tomy's workmanship, or with your DX-09 Tyrant? From the images we don't get to see if there are real treads under the tank wheels, what are the treads like?

Did you do a Youtube review? Were you allowed to take detailed pics for the handling?

Overall, I think the design is solid in bot mode to a certain extent, but for me, I think I am going to wait to see the third release coming from X-transbots before making my mind up as to which 3P Not-Galvatron I want to purchase. Still, I would love to see what else about this figure you can share with us so others like myself on the fence have a good idea of what we would be spending our hard earned money on.. Thanks for the Update so far Down_Shift, can't wait to learn more.

skywarp-2: That's a great list of MPs! I jumped on the Takasa Tony MP18B version of Bluestreak and MP21 Bumblebee w/Spike. Bumblebee happens to be one of the favorite figures for my daughter, so I'm glad I didn't pay the initial $70+ for the official. And guess what? He holds up great. The bumper and mirror have never fallen off, which they do all the time on my official TakaraTomy MP21G. Go figure.

I also have the newer release of Reximus in "animation colors" with silver paint, and he's AMAZING. One of the best figures I have. Added the KFC Delta Magnus hands to him (well, one hand as I still wanted the light up gimmick) and he even has his tail wag/head swivel gimmick. Gave my official TRU 1st release MP Grimlock to my nephew. He was excited, and then he saw Reximus and he wasn't AS excited

As for Apollyon, I had some issues with his leg pieces when I first got him, mainly that some panels popped off and weren't fitting right from the factory. After you mentioned that leg fix I looked it up, and I will definitely try it out tonight (just didn't get to it last night). Anything to compact that kibble will just make him that much better.

I have yet to pick up any DX-9 or FANSTOYS products, so I can't speak to their quality, but I'm happy enough with Apollyon that I'd lean more towards Abaddon over Sovereign and even Tyrant.

The fact of the matter is though, I NEED A MP GALVATRON!!! And I can't for the life of me convince myself that all these guys are worthy of being in my collection. I need more G1 Galvatron. Badly. And I'm almost to the point where I'm going to re-direct my collecting back that way.

Also, I appreciate your posts and look forward to more!

The problem with collecting the Official is they are way too expensive for some, and Takasa Tony filled that need very nicely, and in many ways their figures seem to have fixed the issues with some of the other carbots. Tho, their Sideswipe and Red Alert needed much work.. mainly shaving parts for transformation, and adding super glue to some joints to make the tolerances much more tight. However, I would rather save the 25.00 for that to get another carbot, then pay the full price and have to wait till I can replenish my disposable income to get the figures I needed. Overall, I think so far I have gotten a great haul from the HUNT.

itscramtastic wrote:[ I jumped on the Takasa Tony MP18B version of Bluestreak and MP21 Bumblebee w/Spike. Bumblebee happens to be one of the favorite figures for my daughter, so I'm glad I didn't pay the initial $70+ for the official. And guess what? He holds up great. The bumper and mirror have never fallen off, which they do all the time on my official Takara Tomy MP21G. Go figure.

Yep, I agree, My Bumblebee is perfect. tight joints, no paint flaking, no misalignments.. It is a great figure. I didn't own the original bots, but from the video reviews online, it does seem to have a better production run then the official. I absolutely love my Blue streak "B" diaclone version over the official Grey and Black. Tho, I may get the silverstreak figure, because I love the total silver version of that figure and car. It also matches episode 2 of the More then meets the eye episode, as Silver streak seems to be the character there due to poor animation coloring or mistakes in the coloring, but for me the silver streak figure seems to match the collection.

itscramtastic wrote:I also have the newer release of Reximus in "animation colors" with silver paint, and he's AMAZING.

LMAO!! That's too funny! Yea, I love my reximus Prime Animation ver. It is the best representation of Grimlock I have ever seen. I never owned the Takara Tomy version.. I just felt the scale was way off being he is at or just under the height of MP-10. To Me, the Dinobots are supposed to be huge, and I love the silver paint apps, as it makes the bot and dino look more realistic then the grey swirled plastic. I love the CK attention to detail in the oversized version, and they even included a Masterpiece style box! Incredible, and half the price of the Takara MP.. so definitely a win in my book. I'd love to get the Marvel comics version too, but really I don't need it as I would prefer to collect my G-1 bots all in full before going down the additional color scheme trail, and honestly, I don't have much shelf room, so for me, the core and most wanted groups I like first.. if I got a different colored alternative, It would probably end up in the box in the closet without being displayed, and why would I want that. The whole point is to collect and display and pose and enjoy, not to store simply to own the bot.. that sux. So for me, the animated version of the oversized is my personal fav.. it looks really good next to wheeljack, Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, and bumblebee with Daniel in bot armor.. very Movie-esque in style and satisfying in it's look and feel. Highly recommended! ;)^

itscramtastic wrote:As for Apollyon, I had some issues with his leg pieces when I first got him, mainly that some panels popped off and weren't fitting right from the factory. After you mentioned that leg fix I looked it up, and I will definitely try it out tonight (just didn't get to it last night). Anything to compact that kibble will just make him that much better.

I am totally looking forward to your update on this! I have the 2nd Batch version of Apollyon, now, I did transform him twice, once into Gun mode, then back to Bot mode. No problems or issues with mine. I had nothing fall off, even the shoulders.. I was scared about that after the reviews, but the 2ND batch seems to have all the issues fixed.
The shoulder joints are strong and tight, the thighs are perfect and plug in without coming undone, and the sockets for the thighs are ratcheted and perfect. I loves it! Now, on the Leg Kibble.. I completely believe the original model design was meant for this kibble packing method.. maybe they molded the detail just a bit off, but really, no shaving is needed, no mods are required, no super glues, no hobby knifes.. nothing.. Forgive me for this, but I am going to do a quick play by play of how this kibble (what I believe is the correct and missing transformation trick) is to do a step by step of the process.

1. After Transformation is completed, there is a grey piece in the front of the leg, and a silver tab that is soft on the backside of the leg, and below that is a wishbone (akin to a T-bone steak like Bone) in the center just above the foot. see Below:

This is what we think is the final Transformation for the Leg:
Image

This Tab is soft, and pliable. It is attached to the inner leg via a Bolt that locks it into place. However there is a lip that is maybe 1 MM in thickness, that can be easily over passed without significant issues and shaving the figure. It is all about how you handle the soft tab piece. grab the piece by the end only.. not further up. lift slightly as you move the tab in towards the leg. It doesn't have to sit flush with the inside part to stay put and make the leg kibble disappear, so no worries if it is bowing a bit, that is how it is on mine, this is due to not shaving the inner leg lip that the soft silver tab has to get pulled over, it is fine, there is no adverse affects as a result of the positioning.

Image

Now if you look closely there are divets and tabs that seem to be molded specifically to tie these three pieces together.. But in the image below, you now take the grey portion and make sure it is pushed against the inside of the leg properly..

Image

Finally, the T-Bone like silver tab at the bottom of the leg will revolve up, and it's a bit tough, but it doesn't make an problems folding it up. It locks into place once all the pieces are in properly, and oddly enough it makes a locking clicking sound! which again leads me to believe this was how it was supposed to be done all along.

Once locked the leg should look like this once completed..(also you can move the silver "T-bone" tab on the bottom to rest against the grey tab on the grey and red sections, that is how I have mine, instead of just straight up like the image below:
Image

I have been using this style of packed Leg for awhile now.. What seems interesting is how the tabs seem to work in the center of the leg, the grey has a tab, and the metal T-bone has a tab that links up, and the soft tab seems to rest inside both of those. It is almost (as I believe) the model was meant to lock into place like that, and the designers or people who did the instructions forgot that step.. but Yea, the biggest complaint beyond the tolerance issues with the joints was always the kibble inside the leg.. well, I am here to attest, If you have Apollyon, this is how he should be finally Transformed..

Image

Image

Decepticon Logos optional on the hands.. But I like my Ocean Silver/Metal Symbols there, they look great! The leader of the Decepticons should have a bit more flash on him.. LOL.. but I chose the larger Decepticon logo as it fits more in line with MP-10's autobot logo in terms of scale.

One last thing about the inner leg Kibble Packing trick..It seems to me, again that this was always the proper way to pack his legs in and finalize his transformation. In this image, take a peak at his legs.. you will see how it was meant with the grey and red section, with the T-Bone, and the Soft silver Tab to mimick the G-1 or MP-05 aesthetic of the inner gun trigger inside the leg.. it is brilliant!! I think Apollyon is amazing! It ticks all the boxes I had for a Megs.. and Takara Tomy will have to come up with a doosy to try to beat this work of engineering art and masterpiece!

itscramtastic wrote:I have yet to pick up any DX-9 or FANSTOYS products, so I can't speak to their quality, but I'm happy enough with Apollyon that I'd lean more towards Abaddon over Sovereign and even Tyrant. .

I agree, there is just a level of accuracy and quality and the willingness to fix issues due to fan feedback before the final product gets sent out. That was evidenced by the fact the new ball sockets for the arms were included with the 1st run release. I have high expectations for Sovereign, as the twilight year Megatron/Galvatron should get a good representation. I especially want that after seeing their Sweeps figure, and the scourge figures. They are absolutely fantastic! I think even tho this FT Sovereign will ride a popularity wagon for awhile since he is new, and most of the normal reviewers will be getting a shot to show us how it holds up, overall, it is closer to the idea of Galvatron I would like to have, but ultimately I want to wait to see what either Takara Tomy puts forth, or X-Transbots releases, because After owning Apollyon, I know for sure that if they put that level of care and detail and (lack of detail-sometimes less is more) into that Abaddon figure, we may yet end up with two of the most perfect Villains from the Transformers G-1 series, and all coming from a third party.. how crazy is that!! But I have to say, based on the images seen so far, and those from TFCON 16, the FT Sovereign figure isn't too bad looking.. But I still prefer to wait and see.. also, the Abaddon figure seems to have a more blueish tint then purple like the Sovereign, and I prefer my Galvatron a more blueish tint then the full on Green Goblin Purple.
Image

Also, the Translucent Barrell.. Tho a nice nod to the G-1 Toy, is just a terrible look in actuality.. if there is one thing I prefer the most about one of the previous Galvatrons, is the Look and color and shape of DX9 Tyrant's canon.. it is perfect in my humble opinion.. okay, the gold could be a bit more orange.. but I like the idea of his barrell being a form of Golden orange, looks realistic in as much as you can for a quasi future space canon.

itscramtastic wrote:The fact of the matter is though, I NEED A MP GALVATRON!!! And I can't for the life of me convince myself that all these guys are worthy of being in my collection. I need more G1 Galvatron. Badly. And I'm almost to the point where I'm going to re-direct my collecting back that way.

Also, I appreciate your posts and look forward to more!.

I am in full agreement there, I can not wait to get a Proper G-1 Galvatron in my collection, but I am with you, these two offerings thus far seem not to check the boxes for me yet.. I Like the Sovereign design. it feels very chunky and Blocky.. much like their take on a all their figures. I am glad you like my posts I will try to continue to post great threads as I get back into this. I apologize for being away, I sometimes get busy, and have to recoup my messages to get back in touch with people.. so it may be a bit before you hear back sometimes, but I do try to get back to my messages and discussions as qucikly as I can muster. I look forward to conversing with you more and more as we get more into the 3P releases this year! It's definitely an exciting time to be a Transformers fan!

I tried the Apollyon leg kibble thing you suggested, and...it didn't work. And now, the tab is much looser...I'm not sure if I did it right. Could you PM me and help me out please?

Hey guys.

Sorry for the late reply, but I've been busy following TFcon and I'm just now really getting a chance to sit down and collect my thoughts again.

skywarp-2 wrote:excellent!

If you are happy with previous FT releases, this will fit right in! It has an excellent feel to it and has a nice presence on a shelf. I didn't take many detailed pictures, but my I also didn't transform any of the samples at their request. (I made that mistake last year, didn't plan on making it again lol) I was talking with the designer a few days ago and it looks like that sample had A LOT of cleverly placed glue. So I'm glad I didn't get into it. ha ha.

For the reasons mentioned above I didn't do anything with it or the other FT stuff on YouTube.

This sample didn't have fully functional rubber treads, but I don't think the final version will either.

Now, with all the positive things I can say about it, there is still two more Galvatrons coming. XTB will have Abbadon ready soon, and Takara will be doing an MP Galvatron shortly. While I really like this version I will wait to see what the others are like.

Ha ha ha. A fair question. A lot of 3P designers have worked with or for official product before. From what I've been told, there is a new Galvatron on the way. He was supposed to be released this year but pushed back in favor of the BW stuff.

Take it all with a grain of salt. You don't know me, and I don't know. We are just people chatting on an internet forum. That said, my sources haven't been wrong yet. (Well that's not true. Two years ago the only thing they got wrong was MP Devastator which was turned down in favor of the CW line)
