Feeling very sad

My dad has pancreatic cancer and I'm scared that he is going to pass on soon. I've always been closer to my dad than anyone else and I can't imagine life without him. I feel sad and lonely and afraid. I just don't know what to do.

My condolences on your sad news. I have lost family members to cancer before and it is a sad and terribly lonely time if you allow it to be. I presume your dad hasn't passed yet, so keep yourself busy and be strong for him; try to keep his spirits up because he'll need all the help and support he can get, especially from you as a daughter.

If and when he passes you should surround yourself with family and friends who will support you. I know it's easy for me to say but you should try to focus on happier times, you say that you are closer to him than anybody else; then you should celebrate the life he had because that is what he will want you to do.

Millions of people across the world have gone and are going through what you are right now. You aren't alone.

I'm not around much anymore, and I'm sorry for reopening this thread if it causes you any additional grief, but I'm sorry for this news, and if it makes you feel any less alone and scared, I'll be keeping you and your dad and your family in my thoughts. I hope things go as well as they possibly can.
