So...according to Google, Metroplex's current pricing would be worth $101.30, which is a dollar and some chump change. So...why is the TakaraTomy asking price $250.00, again?? I know e-tailers have to factor in shipping costs, I get it, I do, but damn.

And when did the Yen drop? Deluxe and Voyager prices are still high, but some of the stuff is US priced.

I wish that Skywarp had more black on him. Either I'll end up importing him and taking a black sharpie to him, or I'll hope and pray for a domestic release that has appropriate amounts of black.

A better paint job and an extra gun? Although I do have to admit,it is rather steep a price difference. I just hope Hasbro doesn't go all cheapo on us and deliberately make the vanilla models look terrible.

Part of it is better quality, a lot of it is just the general trend. Everything is more expensive in Japan than it is in the US. It makes sense on some products, but by and large I don't get it.

The yen's exchange rate dropped within the last few weeks, and very suddenly. So everybody, import your stuff now before it skyrockets again! It's almost 1:1 and it ain't gonna stay that way for long. Maybe.

Looking up the prices on eHobby shows these results:

Metroplex standalone: 18,753 Yen = $190
Metroplex + Optimus Prime & Bumblebee Legends: 21,832 Yen = $220

Still too high for me. Now if it was somewhere around $140, then I might bite.

Agreed. And I don't understand those prices at all. In this thread, the magazine scans in the first post show that Metroplex is $101.30

What Google did you use? I see the Yen price on the scan and it's at least 17,000, which is still $173. Me thinks you misread.
