You two very well may have just hit the nail on this one.Andrius wrote:xyl360 wrote:Yep, which is exactly why I think that's what they're doing. They say this will be one of the most sought after sets ever, and a Gobots themed set has been requested for a long time now and all the pieces seem to fit as to what they've said so far (including what they haven't said, like that even though it's from the "80's", they never said G1. Gobots is indeed something all of us that grew up with TF's during G1/the 80's would be well aware of.Sabrblade wrote:GoBots is a possibility, but at the same time, isn't that kinda the obvious route?
This seems the most likely possibility to me. And "an enemy thought defeated"? That could very well be taken to refer to the gobots line in general; once a fierce competitor, now owned outright by Hasbro.

At least. The others could be too.NovaSentinel wrote:Okay so ONE figure is from the 80s,
As in RiD Scourge? No. BotCon's Twitter confirmed that it is not RiD Scourge.NovaSentinel wrote:ONE figure is definately scourge,
Don't worry. It's not Scourge.craggy wrote:I have to imagine that they'd save Scourge for a retail line. First off, lots of people want it, so there'd be much gurny uproar were it to be a con-exclusive. Secondly, and more importantly, An all black repaint of a mold? With very, very minimal paint apps? Seems like a very cost-effective way of bulking out a wave or 3.
I'd also really like Scourge, and would probably shell out for the mega-guns trailer from Maketoy for it, so the above arguments aside, I really hope it's not Scourge.
Oh, and RiD Scourge isn't very 80s.
GoBots is probably a good guess now.NovaSentinel wrote:As for the clues, there's only about a million characters either one of those could relate to. If one or other of them relate to the same character, then perhaps we could start to narrow it down. Or if there was a theme announced, it'd be much easier. Even the 80s thing doesn't indicate G1 Cartoon. It could be G1 TF comics, or toy-bios, or not TF at all, like GI Joe or Gobots. Too soon for Human Alliance basics repainted into Joe vehicle colours with their little partners made to look more like Cobras or Joes. Quite a few recently that'd work as Gobots as well.

Though, let's just hope it's the right GoBots, otherwise we could wind up with...El Duque wrote:I'd be down with a Go-Bot set.

Its a well established fact that The Movie toys are off limits for Botcon sets.
More like a confirmation that if that mold were to be given the Scourge treatment, it would Hasbro who'd do it.kirbenvost wrote:So. If they're not doing figures Hasbro is planning, and they're not doing RiD Scourge, can we take that as confirmation that Hasbro is doing him?

Actually at last Botcon FunPub said that they would probably be able to use movieverse figures as long as they a) weren't onscreen and b) were not licensed vehicles, although the tone of voice in which they said it suggested that they weren't considering using any, just that it was an option.craggy wrote:Overcracker wrote:craggy wrote: Too soon for Human Alliance basics repainted into Joe vehicle colours with their little partners made to look more like Cobras or Joes. Oops. I thought it was only the figures of characters from the movies, not the toys which didn't portray any characters featured in the movie, but just happened to be released in the same line.
which is a shame
