Ok, so I went to Toys'R'Us the other day when coming back from an out of town trip. And just to let you guys know, I was in Lexington, Kentucky. I stopped at the store and went in to do my usualy browsing of Transformers toys, when to my surprise I located several toys I didn't know that the US market carried. It was rather odd seeing these toys here considering the are asia exclusives from what I have read. I also say some legion class ones but failed to take pics of them. Here are the 3 I captured. And BTW I didn't purchase these as I already have their counterparts in my collection. I don't usually get repaints/remolds.

The legion class ones I found were Motormaster (with weapon) SilverStreak (with weapon) and Hoist (with weapon) I didn't have these guys either but I didn't have the funds to get them either...... boooooooo

Toys 'R Us is now carrying the Asian Exclusives for the holiday season, for a good while now actually. Same goes for the Prime First Edition re-releases.

Don't worry, you're not the first :)

Not everyone's first language is English. That aside, no one's spelling is perfect.

The Chinese translations for the names are pretty literal and accurate, except for Laserbeak, who's translated as "Laser Bird." Just saying.

You can read Chinese? Cool :) Translating English names into Chinese equivalents can be hard, to the point the names seem made up. Examples:

Optimus Prime: "Pillar that supports the sky"
Megatron: "Heaven-shaking Might"
Starscream: "Star of the Sky King" aka "Uranus"

It's funny though. I can read the Chinese name for the line up to the last character: Change Form Metal ???

The site has a spell check function. I thought is was like Xovergen or some 3rd party product. And furstreak seems to be VERY fluent in english..........being an American and all.

True; names like Starscream, Optimus Prime and Megatron have absolutely no Chinese equivalents.

That last Chinese character literally translates as steel. The third one can be confusing, as what it means depends on context sometimes. It can mean gold or metal.

In Cantonese, it literally translates as Bin (Change) Ying (Form) Gum (Metal/Gold) Guong (Steel). Loosely, it means transforming metal...hmmm, Transmetals? :-?

BTW, IIRC that translation has existed since G1, as Hong Kong TF merchandise has been using that name since the 80's.

At one point my ToysRus carried Henkei, and some other departmental store carried the Ehobby and alternity line. That's how I got my alt. Prime... For $57 at a local store.

Back then I saw Henkei prime on clearance for $20 at TRU... And did not pick it up. :BANG_HEAD: #-o

I'm feeling pretty sorry for Dune Runner's non-G1 decos because they just don't look as good. I didn't even know about that Sandstorm until now. Hrm.

I don't mind those names. For some unknown reason, I find them appropriate

Legit Chinese here...

And I can't read all their names. Haha.

I only can read "Transformers", which translates to "Bian Xing Gang Jing", or Shape shifting robots.
