I have an urge to start reading comics again and I'm narrowing my first 6 months to 2 Transformer series.

My question is this... Which G1 related series in your opinion is the best,and if there is a Movieverse comic series,is it worth it? If there isn't,which series should be my second choice? Thanks???

There is a lot of movieverse comics, acting as prequels and the like. I've never read any of them so, I don't know which ones to recommend. G1 however, there's currently two G1 ongoings, Robots in Disguise (which currently has Prime on earth against Galvatron and Soundwave) and More than Meets the Eye (which has Megatron leading a ship into the unknown). There is of course a lot of backstory to these two. Robots in Disguise maybe more up your street I'd say but you should read up on what's happened especially with the recent Dark Cybertron event.

It also depends on what you mean by G1:

- The original comics/cartoon universe - then you should try out the Classics (US and UK) collections and ReGeneration One. Both are more or less concluded by now.

- IDW started, with Infiltration and Stormbringer, their new take on the entire franchise, and called that G1. Think of it as the Ultimate continuity in Marvel comics, or a good version of the DC New 52. That's where RID and MTMTE are set, too, as ZeroWolf pointed out above.

Ignore the Movie comics, they reboot and retcon each other with each new movie due to each movie resetting the backstory.
The only one you should really read is Reign of Starscream.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try the More Then Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise comics.I'd like to see the IDW take on G1.As far as the movieverse comics,if you guys say they don't make sense because the movies keep changing everything, (Yes I love the films but that does annoy me) then I won't bother.


I also just got Transformers:Heroes & Villains for next to nothing,so that will be my first venture in.
