I am sure this question is asked a ton and I know there is a search function but I still would like people's personal opinion. I am relatively new to collecting transformers and I am looking for a good g1 styled Optimus Prime for one hundred dollars or less. I have looked at the reissues or the ths02 but I want people's personal opinions thanks.

I noticed you said "G1 styled"
Well, you could hunt down the Generations Optimus vs Megatron 2 pack, shouldn't cost much, and the Optimus that comes with it is very G1 styled.

Theres also the newer MP, but that'll run you over your limit.

Classics prime can be another option if your flexable, but again, he may cost you a pretty penny. Aside good ol' G1 Prime, I cant think of any others. Hybrid Convoy is G1 styled too, but again, very pricy.

You may want to up your spending limit just this once, since your only looking for that one perfect figure. All those primes will run you a high bill, accept maybe the versus pack one, but he's really tiny

The newer Hasbro masterpiece is real nice but it's sadly too high.. The hybrid is around a hundred dollars right now but his truck mode kinda bugs me.

There is also the 25th anniversary re-issue of Optimus Prime. Pretty much exactly Optimus Prime with a little shorter smoke stacks.

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... sary/1598/

he was for sale at most stores for anywhere between $75. - $45 dollars U.S. and shouldn't have to pay too much for one. Thats about as G-1 as you can get I'd say and not pay ridiculous prices.

Welcome to Seibertron

It boils down to research at this point.
I say if u want the best version, take the 100 bucks and just save a little more and get the newest MP version.
If your gonna spend 100, might as well spend a little more and get a super great version.
Although I do enjoy the Legends version too

Cheap, very G1, and fun to play with

The reissue shown before is good, since it is basically G1, but some people dont like the color.

I would recommend takara chronicles ch01. If you look around you can find them on sale for as little as 50 - 75 usd. About the same price as the 25th anniversary set, and you get a g1 prime toy (in a proper red color with proper smokestacks) with a g1 styled trailer, and as an added "bonus" a prime deluxe movie figure.

Everyone keeps mentioning the recent masterpiece, but what about the older one? How much does the least expensive version of that tend to go for these days? That's a great figure. Possibly the greatest of all the times!

On price, well that's the :BANG_HEAD:

The best G1 G1 molds(nope not a typo) is either TH-02 which has a sucky truck mode but awesome 'bot mode. Kind of tiny but given the accessories it carries, worth the price.

G1 Encore is what I'd recommend and/or iPod Optimus Prime colors (it's on the pricey side that is.

Lastbut not the least, either MP-10 or MP-01. 'nuff said!

Well, if you wAt one under 100 bucks, BBTS has the Hasbro Asia Commemorative series Optimus Prime for 79.99

As for MP, I'd say there's no way you'll find an MP-01 for under 100 bucks in any way shape or form.

Perhaps the Robot Masters Convoy may be an easier find,

Amazon has him for 80 bucks. And he's as close to MP as you are going to get without being MP.

If a voyager would work, then Classics Optimus is a good option.

The arm panels are a little weird but if you think of them as shields it is a nice figure.

Isn't the 20th Anniv. DVD version a little cheaper than the MP-01? I love mine.

The G1 Encore is fantastic, nearly identical to the original and excellent quality. Can't remember how much I paid a couple years ago, but it was MISB and less than 60 or so, because that's about my upper limit.

He was originally cheaper than MP-01 Convoy yes, and likely still is but that does't mean he'll be very likely to be found for under $100 bucks.

Do anyone think that Hasbro will ever rerelease the new masterpiece optimus because if it is likely I would wait until that happens.

They already did, but it sold out in minutes and is now impossible to find, except on eBay for $200.

When's the next big anniversary anyway? Maybe they'll re-release him in 2015/2016 for the 30th Anniversary of the movie :P
