Hiya. A few months ago, I completed my Energon Shockwave-to-G1 custom. I was pleased. Then, I saw Jin Saotome's masterpiece. The first thing I thought was wow; that's amazing....then....man, my paint skills suck....

So, motivated by inspiration and a new camera, I put the brush to my custom, resulting in.....

Sattelite (Which I happen to think is the coolest update mode for the character)

Temporary gun mode, I need a piece for the barrell:

That's pretty sweet. Where are the arms from?

Look more like Bulkhead's (or his repaint's) arms.

Dude, now THAT is a sweet version of Shockwave/Shockblast. Your's is one of the best one's I've seens so far. Nice Work! :D

One question: You said you used Energon Bulkhead's Forarms. How much of a pain was it to put together? Was it a simple fit or did you have to alter it?

what steel paint did you use, and does it rub off?

Thanks everyone...it's nice to know the hard work is appreciated by those that understand the little details.

Now, questions...

They are Quickstrike's arms, so of course Bulkhead would work as well.

No mods were needed, they just popped off and I switched them as easy as GI Joe parts! (I think so, I did this one awhile ago, but I remember it being that easy)

The metal effect was done by using my favorite brand of silver paint, from the Wal Mart car paint isle, Plasti-Cote Truck and SUV spray. It bonds to plastic even better than Krylon Fusion! You just have to be sure to put it on in incredibly thin coats. Once dry, I can't scratch it, and I've tried! Then, once dry, I put a blackwash on it, but didn't wipe it off the surfaces, and finally dry-brushed it with more silver, which highlights the edges making it look like die-cast, and gives the rest a patina-like finish. It really does look like worn metal in person, these pics actually make the figure look alot cleaner, it has a worn effect like my perceptor custom.
