This is something you should probably get used to as a lot of figures get repainted or remolded at some point.

Generations Drift and Blurr for example.

*coughseekerscough*

Actually, if I were going to do this, it might be easier to list the Classics/Generations molds that have not been repainted/remolded.

Megatron
Astrotrain
Tankor(Octane)
Galvatron
Perceptor (yet, reflector repaint rumored)
Hound
Warpath

That might be it, after a quick glance at my shelves. Did Classics Grimlock get a repaint?

The Beast Wars Transmetal toys are excellent (lots of BW first season toys are ugly). I know that not everyone loves beast formers, and that’s fine, but the toys are great toys. They are as well made, they have unique/interesting and good aesthetic designs, they really have a lot going for them. For class size to class size they can hold up to any transformer, including today’s generations toys.

Beast Wars Optimal Primal, Megatron, Dinobot, and Cheetor all got completely new molds and released in the classics line just a few years ago.

Sounds like some don’t like this version because it doesn’t capture the iconic essence of Beast Wars Megatron, three to five different toys all with heads as cannons. For others, it sounds like the idea of “more the merrier,” more toys the better, newer versions = fun, basically, as long as it is purple, is a t-rex and has a Megatron head then it is all good. Can’t blame Hasbro for trying to get a good return on their investment, and some people are super excited. So that is cool.

As much as I am a BW, and I have the collectin to prove it, let's continue with more FOC Dinobots rather than waste time on repaints of historic icons. Priorities people!

Works fantastically.

Wouldnt you rather see real classics Beast Wars molds like Dinobot and Cheetor from the Universe line ? If we glorify a lazy repaint, well never get the real deal. This is the one and only time I want the dino head and tail as arms. Not a purple Grimlock with a Megatron head.

Yes! FOC Dinobots! But, repaints are easy money for them. It would be like leaving money on the table if they didn't. The more money they make the more Transformers they will produce... eventually... I hope. Sooner rather than later for the FOC Dinobots please. When they do repaints, they might want to wait a few years, then the mold seems a little different and fresher rather than back to back.

For what it's worth:

Honestly I don't think Megatron needs updated toys, as his originals hold up really well and were overall really fantastic. Well, except for having a dino tail for an arm, which even the cartoon changed into a hand. That said, I understand the need to redeco existing molds to recoup the very expensive investment that goes into them, and I see this as a very creative alternative use of the mold.

Megatron? Hmmm, i'm not sold, but hey, if you can get another use out of a mold, why not?

What makes this test shot interesting is the fact that it features a different head that is very reminiscent of Beast Wars Megatron. Could we have a Beast Wars Megatron remold in store for the future? Perhaps even a small step into Generations Beast Wars toys?

Nice! Don't care about the head, but... where can I get my hands on those translucent weapons? They look shiny! :D

I like it, but I'm not sure I'll want it since it (currently) has no fictional precedence and I've already still got plenty of BW/BM Megatron figures. It;'s the same reason I skipped on the BW 10th Anniversary Megatron (the Deluxe one with the Cyber Key).

Ass-fans? :???: If you meant the intakes he can deploy in beast mode and robot mode, they were on his beast hips/robot back.

I don't think this is supposed to represent Megatron's Transmetal body, but rather his Season 1 body.

I remember someone calling ROTF Ravage's cannons "ass cannons", and on a whim, decided to call Transmetals Meg's boosters "ass-boosters." Not very suitable, in retrospect.

I naturally thought it would be Transmetals since his season one body was organic as opposed to mechanical.

Well Rattrap did calls Meg's a "fan fanny freak" in part 2 of coming of the fuzors, so the term ass-fan is acceptable.
