I'll pick one up (if i can) just for all his bits. The basic figure itself hasn't much interest to me.

The blue is pretty lame [what, is Dusty going swimming?], but hey, it's Dusty, with his great scuplting and stuff like elbow pads and waist joint.

But, oh man, that GEAR! Stand, boonie hat with NVGs, helmet w/removable visor, Steel Brigade helmet, gasmask [put the gasmask on the Doctor, take off the coat, BAMN, Psycho Mantis from MGS, and that Bravo-clasee VvV snow vehicle has a Genome Soldier as a driver], tac vest, flack vest, backpack, SOCOM pistol M9 SMG, Jackhammer automatic shotgun, and a modified G36 assault rifle. I'm probably missing some stuff, too. Now THAT is epic. Best of all, no silly X-Men movie costume, Iron Man suit, or spring-loaded fail.

I read he's one per case, so up & at 'em, troopers!

I know I won't be attending joecon, but I know I will be following the coverage over on hiss tank. I doubt I will be picking up any more of the pitt commando figures, but the figure I really like and will be on look out for more of them is the crimson neo viper.

Honestly I look at the Doctor (and movie CC) and just see potential to make a body for a new look for Dr. Mindbender once I pick up the 7 pack and pull the head off his body.

I like Mindbender and want him in my Cobra force but I just don't care for the classic open shirt look, and see possibilities kit bashing from those figures.

As far as Joecon goes, I just hope there are a few people buying the full set who aren't interested in keeping all the vipers. I just want one or two, and don't really care for the rest.

Well went to TRU today and thanks to a helpful collector got a Pitt commando. Big problem right off the bat is the way his rifle is packaged. Across his arm and torso has left it severely bent out of shape. If I can't bend it back this figure is fail. No holsters, and he isn't packaged with any of the guns he has pictured on card. That's almost as bad as the Vipers no coming with those MARS rifles they "prefer." picked up an Elite Viper, looks to be a redone MARS officer. Just looking at Flash in box makes me think that with a new head and weapons could make an awesome laser viper if done in all black. The gun that Grand Slam comes with is cool but a bit to big and thick. It end up stretching out his hand so like Rampage he can't hold his pistol. Haven't touched his glider yet.

Out of all the latest figure my favorite is still the crimson neo viper just because the figure reminds me of the g.i. joe version of the Emperor's Royal Guard from star wars but done way better than that figure was done.

Maybe because be it ever so humble Hasbro gives the Joes ARTICULATION!? Seriously though, I like the staff of Ra and I like his gun but I just can't get past the face. It looks like a salamander crossed with a crab.

According to the twitter feed for Terrordrome at the upcoming product panel:
terrordrome: Haha! "We do not have any plans for a Terrordrome or Flagg". So don't ask?

If the other sources throwing out info from the event are correct, than that terrordrome is just for that diorama, just as that yellow HISS tank beside it.

The other images on that page I've seen on other sites as well. theterrordrome.com has updated with a few dozen images. The desert Zartan and Jungle Viper is looking like must haves.

But you know, all in black he would probably look good. Joe cycle armor? I just made a mess over the lower half of my body. I know I can't be as good as what Toynami and CMS have put out but, awesome with a side of oh yeah.

there is a good image of it at http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1682/dscf0032x.jpg

Doesn't seem as blocky as a Cyclone, and not as sleek as a Moto-Slave, but still very very sweet. I hope that the figure is dependent to the armor mode as I'll want to play around with that (re: turn it Cobra like everything else)

And in that bend in my next batch of picture if I post any more, Shipwreck has joined Cobra. (at least within my collection.)

To me that looks like how they would make a cyclone for under $100. Obviously movie line too.

:BOT: I've been meaning to do a Comic-Con recap but I've been busy for the past few weeks. But among the stuff I've bought, I picked up the GI Joe complete boxset along with the Transformers set. It's a great looking set since it comes in a sturdy lockerbox.

I've honestly seen a handful of GI Joe cartoons (maybe 20 episodes altogether?) so it's a treat watching these.

Of course, I don't understand how some hardcore fans are going nuts about how silly the new GI Joe movie is while the Pyramid of Darkness mini-series has giant furry monsters and Quick Kick's silly origin.

But it's all good. I still love GI Joe :) :CON:

My friend who works in retail saw the picture of the terrordrome from joecon. What she thinks is happening is that hasbro is telling people well we aren't going to release, but what this really means is we want to see how many people come by the display area and look at it say wow I would buy that no question about it. Then hasbro might just decide to release down the line at somepoint. Because she says no company goes to the great a length to produce something like that since it is a totally redesigned terrordrome. of course all of this is just her theory after working in retail as long as she has, she has seen stuff that gets shown off at a convention that wasn't going to be produced get made because there was enuff interest in the product. So here hoping hasbro changes there mind because that terrordrome looks amazing.

Going through the Joecon stuff, I'm really glad to hear we're getting a NEW HISS tank. The old one is nice, but getting a little tired. The Ice Cutter or whatever it's called looked really cool too.

Really disappointed with the HISS scout though, that seemed really half assed (and half finished too).

Entirely possible Shortround, but I can tell you from my work that I have seen companies spend a ton of money developing things that are purely for show and not planned for retail.

I'm working right now with a company that has a license for the 2010 Winter Games and they have shelled out a ton of cash on things that are only for mock-up/display and will never be used for retail.

I would love to have them say that they are indeed working on getting that to retail, but I can also easily see a Hasbro rep explain that it was a side project by some of the designers, or a prototype they deemed too expensive to take further in the design process, but was able to be prettied up for this.

Hell I'd like to know more about the yellow HISS. what's the deal with that???

Out of interest, has anyone in the UK managed to get the "Battle Pack" with Serpentor, the BAT, a couple of other figures and the Arise Serpentor Arise DVD.

New Trans-GI Joe-Formers? Rise of Cobra Blurs the line

For some fans, the Transformers and GI Joe franchises are forever linked in the same lore. With the mulititude of crossovers the two lines have had, its a wonder this hasn't happened sooner.

Thanks to the folks at GeneralJoes.com, we get some new info about soon to be released GI Joe Rise of Cobra figure showcased at GI Joe Con 2009 that look an awful lot like a Transformers Crossover. The only exception to this is that the 3/4 inch scale figure the vehicle is meant for actually combines with it to for a "Robotechesque" body armor.

The Ashiko figure with Cycle Armor is part of the Alpha Vehicle Wave 1 figures set for release sometime in 2010. No word on whether or not there will be more figures like this, but given the immense popularity of the Transformers brand it's definitely a possiblity.
