While we're discussing all the new and upcoming releases I thought it would be fun to list all the vehicles, I can't list figures since I never looked, that I never saw at retail. Please note that I'll be using the names that are most familiar to me, namely the classic ones;

Dune Buggy with Leatherneck.
Sky Hawk.
Target HISS.
Target Dune Buggy.

Wow. Not as many as I thought. Keep in mind sometihng like the Water Moc or the Fang/Claw set I only ever saw one of.

Seems like you didn't miss much. Up here in Canada, we had maybe 3 waves of figures, missed the entire first year, and the only vehicle packs we got were the Armadillo/Air Chariot and the black HISS. At least now we get stuff like the 5-packs and the Combat Heroes.

Hell I was surprised the other day and found a Pilot Scarlett at a London Drugs, I didn't even know she made it into Canadian waves.

I saw two Pilot Scarletts at retail. The only other places I saw figures from that wave on the Canadian cardbacks were collector/comic shops.

I didn't count figures because I know that while all the waves made it out, scalpers got most of the goods.

True enuff and what do think is happening to most of the pitt commandos from the movie line, scalpers know that a figure that can be made into four different figures is going to go for huge bucks on e-bay or any auction sight for that matter. Plus collectors are also scooping for four of these figures so they can display all four different outfits.

I'm not digging the CC figure, but it does seem that the fig has decent pieces for modding, and the jacket piece is pretty win. I'll likely grab one for that alone.

Yup sorry to say there is. Look on eBay for pics. Most auctions include all the variants in the wave.

Getting them off ebay is really my last ditch effort to get a figure. I would rather find them in the stores. The piece of news for anyone who owns snake eyes paris pursuit edition with black version of timber that is the rare variant of the figure.

PIT Commando variant is just how the figure and gear is arranged on the card. The early waves are different than how they are set up now. How do I know? I only found one, early on, the one way, and have found like 5 the other way more recently.

SE comes with black and brown, or grey and white Timbers. The theory is that the grey one is the newer version, and thus, should be easier to find. I have not heard or seen a definitive on which version is the rarer.

Now what I still want to know, did the Ice Viper variant ever make it to retail. Early pictures showed a clear shield and a red shield version. The package shows red with the art, but all I have ever found is clear with a red stripe in the middle.

Yep both variants of the ice viper did make it to certain retailers but it was only like the first couple of sets of the case assortments from that wave which included them. Yes the black timber is rarer than the grey and white or the brown version of timber, because yet again black timber was only included in the first couple of case assortments form the same wave as ice viper variants. So what it comes down to is that certain retailers either got one of the ice viper variants or black timber in the very first cases of wave 2 figures, and now all there getting is either the gray and white timber or ice viper with clear visor with the red stripe. Sorry my answer was so long but it took awhile for my friend who works at tru to explain it to me and trying write what she said was even harder.

eBay has plenty of both, but sellers are calling the grey version the variant.

No eBay auctions with any different type of Ice Viper than I already have.

The clear and red ice viper were very rare in that they were in the first couple of cases for wave two, along with black timber and after that they were gone so I don't think you will see many auction for them on on ebay or any auction site for that matter. Now all the stores are getting is wave 2 revision 1.1 and 1.2 which include the cobra commander without the holes in his chest and white and grey timber and brown timber.

Joe movie is fun. It has its faults, but is way better than either TF movie.

And the eye candy is fantastic too. I won't jump into spoiler discussion, there is another thread about the movie where those are being dicussed, but it is worth it for you guys to check out.

For the lulz, of course! That, and having something that big means they don't have to give him better gear that would have taken up that space in the package.

I’ll wait for the DVD like with the Transformers movies. Guess it can’t be too bad.

So I pop into Wal-Mart today to get groceries with my mother. Of course while I’m there I check the toy isle and saw the usual stuff, but then I found, nestled tightly between the pegs some later wave figures! Flash, an Eel, Crimson Neo-Viper, PIT Commando, and an Elite Viper. So there I sit in the isle, by myself saying ”yes, yes, yes, yes, yes…” only to then realize I have about sixteen bucks… I know I must’ve looked insane.

So anyway, I picked up a PIT Commando and Elite Viper, here are my thoughts:

Elite Viper

This one is really nice. He comes with an backpack, axe, pistol, two machine guns, and an missile launcher.

His head is nice, but a little hard to make out the details on. The colors and paint are really nice though, I liked the dry brushed silver paint on his vest and a few other spots. He’s mostly a dark blue, so he’ll look good leading my Vipers me thinks.

His articulation is unhindered. He does reuse the Viper (commando) torso, but his legs are smaller so he can sit right. Arms bend good, so he can hold his gun correctly too.

I’m a little unsure why he would need an axe, but it’s pretty cool. It stores in his backpack too, so he can be equipped with most of his gear at one time. He looks cool when he has both his machine guns out, a little double action there. I don’t think many Joes have come with two of the same gun like this before, so I appreciate it with this figure. His missile launcher is the same one included with the Viper Commando, though, I doubt anyone cares about that.

Having got the PIT Commando with him today, it seemed like he wasn’t as much bang for your buck, but seeing as he’s less of a repaint I think he’s pretty good. I’d like a few more myself.

PIT Commando

This figure is odd but I like him. He comes with a load of gear, and is a cheap alternative to get Dusty if you passed on DVD pack #4 (or was it #3? Oh well, the one with Serpentor ).

The figure itself is entirely Dusty, only now in urban colors. This means everything that sucked about Dusty sucks here too, whereas everything that was awesome about Dusty is awesome here as well. My only real beef is that he can’t hold his riffle correctly, and I have another skirt that doesn’t seem to want to stay buttoned.

I like the paint scheme on him. Like most of the Joes in the line, he’s mostly grey, but there’s detailed camo all over him.

Gear is the main attraction here really. Four helmets, two different vests, four guns, backpack, and shield. I was a little disappointed to find out his riffle is softer than his other weapons, which just seemed kind of odd. I also wish you didn’t need to pop off his head to change vests, but otherwise his gear is awesome. It’s fun to tinker with all the possibilities it gives him.

I’d recommend this figure for the sheer amount of gear alone. Very happy with my little score today.
