k... now I'M confused...

when i saw this pic, i assumed the youd have to assemble the chrome bits yourself.

to which i say, "pfffff".
mainly because chrome is so finicky. ive heard tell that the reason for spider-cracking in chrome bits, is because one chip or scratch can oxidize the entire piece causing said cracks. even if that isnt a threat... come on! a DIY project on a 200 dollar figure? pfffff.

The chrome is not DIY. Check out that *other* TF site and Giga's FB page. That is a standard production sprue - that is how the parts come in to Giga (or Has/Tak for that matter)

Indeed I thought that might be the confusion, shajaki. I was going to say the same thing as Iron Prime. Ive worked with plastics manufacturers in the past and unless trimming is part of the mold, which can be expensive, they come out just like toy model kits.

So I'm guessing with the comment of so much paint that this is gold paint which should be preferable to gold plastic...

Apologies to the necessary folk.

I tagged those pics on the end of my post, but they where posted shortly before the main pics, they offered those gold chrome pics with an apology for the lateness of Guttur due to getting the chrome just right or similar explanation!

No company in their right mind would offer a chromed up sprue expecting fans to break them off and put together their $200 figure themselves...

Just taking a break from busy production, I thought I could share some of my thoughts that I have been dying to share with you. We have been receiving a lot of positive comments here on our facebook and elsewhere as well. Reading your comments has become a hobby of mine. All this excitement and encouragement from you guys really cheer me up from a busy day (Sorry that I didn’t reply to some of your questions as they could have been sensitive at the time). It’s been a long time since we started this project, from the redesign to nearly final release. We have learnt so much during Guttur's development and we have gained so much from your contribution, ideas and even criticisms. But most of them all - from your support. (special thanks to the TFW2005 community). There were even dramas and rumors along the road since the redesign, but nonetheless, we are very close to Guttur's final release.

Anyway, let me answer some of your questions:

We are on a very tight schedule due to the Chinese New Year which is coming on 2/19. I am very sorry to tell you that the chrome version will be released later, because there still are several testing needs to be perfected and we and the factory are devoting all of our time to production of metallic version.

We have finished designs of other 3 Gigasaurs and the last one is already work in progress (Yes, while we were redesigning Guttur, we were also working on the rest of Gigasaurs).

We will be launching 3-4 Gigasaurs by the end of this year. (Guttur + 2 or 3 more). And the last one is to be released in Q1 next year.

What we haven’t decided yet, though, is their release order which will be announced in the future. But I will release the 3D design of future Gigasaur by the end of this month.

We will be, as usual, listening to all your feedback as this has become an important part of our projects due to Guttur’s redesign success when we managed to implement some of your ideas that could be done and we agreed it would improve our figure.

The metallic version will be limited because the chrome version will require irreversible modifications of the mold itself. Also, we consider the metallic version to be our flagship product and the extra accessories are to thank you. Future Gigasaurs will be released in a similar fashion in, at least, these two versions.

Btw. there is one big change to the Grassor's design. Can you guess what it is?

Same boat. But now I get the cool looking metallic colored one. Chrome will be the FT Dinos for me.

What do you think about current renders of Grassor?

In order to make good dinosaur mode the hind legs needed to be very big. They would look too big on the sides of robomode legs. So they can be hidden inside of robomode legs. You can leave them outside if you want though.

Factory resumed its work and Guttur will be released this month.

Comparing the Giga version to the FT version. Like the Dino and robot proportions and sculpting better on the Giga toy.

What I dislike most about FT's Snarl's MP Dino mode. Is how narrow the grey parts are on the middle dino body.

Never liked any of FT's robot heads faces. As I think they look undersculpted, Simplistic, weird and ugly.

While I like the Giga Power Dino's Sculpting more. Like the FT's Dino's scale in both modes more.

Since both the FT and Giga Dino's cost the same price. Think it makes sense getting the Giga toys as your getting a bigger toy for the same price as a smaller toy.

With all that said above. Don't have any plans to buy any of the Third party Classics or MP Dinobots. As my spending budget will not allow it.

Also when I buy a G1 Update Third party toy, it's needs to be a core team member with a fleshed out personality and receive a lot of dialogue in the fiction. Minus Grimlock, Think the other G1 Dinobots received quickie generic short personalities. With very little dialogue or little importance in the cause.
