Tomb Raider 1, it has everything. The PS1 version was the best, but now hard to find.

Also Far Cry and now that I have played the first 2 missions of the new game Overlord, I am sure this will be right up there with the best too. You should try that game folks, you wont be disappointed.

games i really like are (USA/UK name variants included):

quake, hellfire (sega genesis/megadrive), supercontra/probotector (SNES), mortal kombat II, R Type, xmen vs street fighter (saturn), galaga (which drives me totally crazy)and for my fave game ever which i still reckon 'feels' better than any update is streetfighter II championship edition (anyway thats the version i have). ah and finally the most fun/cheaptastic/button mashing post pub frenzy you can have has to be marvel vs capcom 2.
