not sure how to feel about this..

Beast Wars was an awesome story, Beast Machines was not.
Beast Machines ended with OP and Megs dying.

Hopefully we are reading into it too much.

I hope we are reading into it to much. Either they wrote the middle part between Beast Wars and Machines or they are doing something crazy lol.

You guys kinda are. "Universe" and "Robots in Disguise" for example are names that have been reused by unrelated lines. I expect the same to happen with Beast Hunters.

Start fresh from when they get back to Cybertron and Megs escapes, keeps his Dragon form and finds his old legion and commands them again. Maybe reformats his legion into predacons? Epic.

I doubt it. I expect if it is a take on Beast Wars/Beast Machines, that it will be a tie-in to Prime, similar to how Rescue Bots and WfC/FoC are in the new 'Aligned' continuity, which excludes everything from the actual G1 cartoon canon (of which Beast Wars/Beast Machines are).

Since the Aligned Autobots and Decepticons didn't crash land on Earth in ancient times, the original story archs for Beast Wars don't make any sense. It's probably just some other world or our own ancient past where some factions of Bots and Cons showed up on Earth or inhabit some other primal world and end up encountering the Bots and Cons here on Earth in modern times.

Either way, if it means we get some nifty Beast Wars style toys and characters, I'm good with it, regardless of how they decide to handle the fiction.

To me this is the same as Ultra Mammoth. The comic claims it's Ultra Magnus' 'new body' in the Beast Era, but that's not what he'll be in my collection. He's just another marvelous repaint of an excellent Beast mold on my shelf and that's it. If these new Beast bots (assuming that's what we're getting) are any good, then that's what they'll be as well. Just more cool Beastformers for my shelf.

Do not want.

Beast era had it's run, and then some. I'm perfectly content with Prime and expanding it. I don't want to go back to go on. Work with what we have now and get smart about it.

....unless Beast Hunters is Transformers 4... (Please, no.)

Unless they intend to make a Beast Era sequel to the Aligned Continuity as they did in G1. In that case, I'd watch it, just because I'm an Aligned fanatic.

Well, they don't have to remain in complete sync with the Beast Era's story arc. They could just use a similar concept (The Autobots and Decepticons change their names around after a period of time, and now they're the Maximals and Predacons).

Either way, if it means we get some nifty Beast Wars style toys and characters, I'm good with it, regardless of how they decide to handle the fiction.

I guess the universe wanted me to be a little bit more interested in the Beast Era. It knew this was coming and wanted me to be prepared.

Beast Hunters. Wouldn't it be funny if this is a line centering around a bunch of Decepticon bounty hunters under Megatron hunting the Maximals, a sub-group of Autobots, about 50 years in the future from the current time plot (Prime & Rescue Bots).

In any case, bring on the :MAXIMAL: and :PREDACON: !

How good are the viewings and reviews for TFPrime?
we have that answer, we have our answer. Hasbro is unlikely to
start a new series unless Prime is doing poorly with the ratings.

i expect this copyright thing to be:
a: a sub-toyline to the PRID one
b: copyrighted so no one else can take it
c. an ALL NEW NON-TRANSFORMERS RELATED toyline/tv show.
(hey if big robots sell, companies gonna sell robot toys, even if they already have some.)

If Prime isnt doing well then, i will bet the beast era will be back AND IT BETTER BE BACK WITH AWESOME VENGENCE!!!(i missed the beast era as i was too young then (or didnt know about it) so if i get my chance and if the show and toys are good, then im good with Hasbro takin' my money- i also want some of the old actors aswell, if it happens).
and with the PRID toyline seeming to end with the lion-con and UMagnus i wouldnt be surprised if they are scrapping atleast the Prime toyline.

Yet...

From Wikipedia on the back in the day Battle Beasts:
In the Japanese market Takara branded the toys as a spin-off of Transformers and even named the toys "BeastFormers

As part of the Takara strategy, many of the Battle Beasts appeared in the episode "Rebellion on Planet Beast" of the Japanese Transformers cartoon series Transformers: The Headmasters.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Beasts

With the Battle Beast comics just around the corner we may get more of an idea of what may or may not be up with them. Previews: IDW’s Infected, Battle Beasts, Secret Battles of Genghis Khan, and Transformers: Regeneration One

Understood. But the new Battle Beasts line is already out (in Japan), and it doesn't contain vehicles, robots, or transformers, as described in the trademark application for "Beast Hunters".

As Hasbro said back in 2010 when they started the Aligned timeline; the Aligned continuity is the base of all Transformers related projects for the next decade. I too assume this will be some sort of future of the Aligned Continuity (or Aligned based nonetheless).

This is also the reason I thought TF4 is going to be in Aligned based. I guess I was wrong, but still, I'm waiting on a Prime movie.

It was an Emmy Award nomination and won. What do you think?

b: copyrighted so no one else can take it
c. an ALL NEW NON-TRANSFORMERS RELATED toyline/tv show.

A: They registered it for a toyline. You know how much I love toys.
B: Now why would they do that?
C: Perhaps a toyline/show about people who hunt beasts?

If Prime isnt doing well then, i will bet the beast era will be back AND IT BETTER BE BACK WITH AWESOME VENGENCE!!!(i missed the beast era as i was too young then (or didnt know about it) so if i get my chance and if the show and toys are good, then im good with Hasbro takin' my money- i also want some of the old actors aswell, if it happens).

What? That makes no sense. We have two shows going on based in the Aligned Continuity, and both of them are doing incredible jobs at staying on the air.

And, no, PRiD is not ending with them. We're also getting a Skyquake. It ends with him (as far as we know).

They regestered this for a toyline and a cartoon. If they don't use it for a cartoon or toyline, what's the point? That would be a waste of time.

is this quote from the fox press release a fact?

"BEAST HUNTERS, the next evolution of the popular Beast Wars
franchise, continue their fight against the evil dragon Megatron and his
hordes of Predacons in 13 all-new episodes with cutting edge computer
animation, action, adventure and humor, produced by Mainframe
Entertainment."

if it is.. shouldn't that end all of the speculation?

or is that quote, itself, speculation?

Hasbro could always market it differently. As I understood, Takara is marketing Battle Beasts as a game, which wouldn't require vehicles. If Hasbro wanted to market them as action figures, they could easily add in other accessories like transforming vehicles and bases to make for a complete lineup as toys.

More beast transformers, or beast saga coming stateside. Either of these things would be really really awesome for me.

Still, this is just names, and till more is seen it's just names.

I wouldnt get excited just yet, we dont even know if this has anything to do with Transforemrs, hasbro does make other things besides transformres. For all we know they picked up the rights to distribute some other toyline or are just making a brand new series. Plus if you think about it they did nothing for the 15th anniversary of Beast Wars and did very little for the 10th so why would they try and bring it back now? Now if the 20th anniversary was just around the corner then maybe this would be Beast Wars related but its not so im leaning towards new franchise. The only way i can see this being TF related is if it has something to do with the next movie, they did say they were going to change things up and they wont be fully satisfied until they totally bastardize all of the TF eras in crappy explosion filled no plot movies.

Another site is reporting it's just the US version of Beast Saga.
Or the update to the original non-Transformers "Battle Beasts" from Hasbro in the 90's.

They had vehicles and Playsets.

it all makes sense, and not transformers related.

Those comics have nothing to do with the battle beasts from the 80's. Hasbro Let the trademark for "battle beasts" expire. Diamond picked it up. They're now making new Battle Beasts toys, taking a great deal from their minimates line. They have next to nothing to do with the original line.
