Hasbro G1 Reissue scam or not?

I saw an Hasbro G1 Mirage reissue auction and it stands on $3.25, is the figure worth such a small price? I'm really interested in this figure because it may be my first G1 figure, but I think it's scam, the price is too good.

What do you guys think, is it a fake reissue or not? The auction has still 6 days to go though.

However if he never was reissued, then this is no doubt a KO isn't it?

One thing to keep in mind is that G1 reissues never come in US-style G1 boxes. US reissues come in all-new designed boxes (and sometimes have Toy Safety Law alterations) and usually have "Commemorative" on them. The first Japanese reissues from the 2000's replicated the original Japanese packaging, but nowadays as part of special lines they don't.

One more important thing to consider is some G1 molds are broken, lost or have deteriorated beyond viable use, thus official reissues of those are highly unlikely. They include:

- Sunstreaker
- Wheeljack
- Mirage
- the G1 Dinobots (unconfirmed)

If you see "reissues" of those figures, they're guaranteed fake, unless they're in European gold boxes, part of the 1990/1991 "Classic" series of reissues.

Absolutely a KO. They call them "reissues", which, in one way they kind of are, but they're not put out by Hasbro or TT and the quality can some times (depending on the batch) be questionable.

Wow, thanks for information mate. I didn't know that, I'm kind of new into this trading stuff. Also thanks to Burn!

I think I will keep this topic for other questions about the TF toys until I know enough to decide on my own. :D
