First impressions always last but Hasbro's MP-10 Optimus Prime at first glance from the transparent package is the MAN! Or the 'bot!

Though I already own the Takara version, for those who don't own one, you MUST get this figure. Hopefully there won't be any ugly QC issues to bare, but from a glance of the figure which I eyeballed here in SEA, the pictures posted here in seibertron don't do it justice!

In the Takara version, one part that bothered me the most was his spooky looking optics, the crystal(?) plastic effect used would have benefited from a light piping feature or better yet used some chrome like the original MP 01. But the Hasbro version's painted optics and colors make him an epitome of bad@ssness like that in the cartoon and the 1986 movie!

One issue I noticed was that the energon ax separates from the"neck" that connects to the spike like thingie, My MP-10 iirc does not do that

The plastics too, they don't look cheap like the atrocity that was the anniversary figure that Ryan scorched in his review. :lol:

No sireee, the plastics are high quality looking (well from the container anyway) and of course, the painted roof lights help accentuate the details similar to MP-01. Of course, the silver highlights on his sides are gone, but hey? You win some, you loose some!

So fellow seibertronians..............Go get him!

Actually, it does. I'm not sure it's supposed to but mine came off (accidentally) and went back on again. I wouldn't recommend trying it though.

Thanks for the heads up. The axe separation btw looked accidental when I shook the box, it just like came off inside.

He looks great guys, and the trailer, it didn't look cheap at all. Though I'm kind of leaning towards the gray Roller but the blue /violet color used is just about right.

My MP10 energy ax tip and the handle pop off all the time whenever I rotated and easily reattached itself without any issue. I guess it's part of the design. As for Hasbro Prime, overall I really like it very much especially the eyes coloring. I am 80% sure of getting him. The only thing I dislike is the blue Roller, would've preferred the gray to be toon accurate.

So, was my description accurate? But from what you mention, the price in Singapore is almost of that of the Takara MP-10. My MP 10 btw cost almost US$ 240.00......but it was sure worth it(didn't eat nothing but Scooby snacks for 3 months :lol:

I tried to pull mine off but it wouldn't move. Then it popped off at some later time without me trying but went back on just fine.

Yeah, it looks real nice... Problem is, the takara one costs $225 USD here... So... You're not getting much saving if you go with Hasbro. No way I'm forking out more than $160 US for that mold. Either it goes on sale, or I pass and get a 2nd hand MP-1 to fill in my MP Prime role... :-x

Arrgh! It's that expensive?! Well it is kind of pricey in Singapore but the price you quoted for the Takara version, so the difference is nearly minuscule. So the price in the US of the Hasbro version seems to be cheaper(?)

That being the case, the fans over the Pacific should count their blessings that they might get it at a cheaper price.

Yeah. For $100 USD, I'll grab it on sight! :-(
