NOOO! They're interested in more deluxe combiners! I appreciate that they're trying, but I would honestly prefer the limbs being scouts because then the proportions don't suck.

Why not just have the torsos for any new combiners be Voyagers? ;)

I'm fine with this as well. I think to compete with the 3rd party figures that this would be the best route.

It'll be a retail item.

Bigger toys huh? I wonder if they are just going to increase the size back to original or actually bigger than the original o.O...

True. I'm hoping they get away from the PCC combiner attachments, though. I'm not a big fan of that, but I'll bet that's the route they go....

They work just as well as anything, the problem is the plastic quality. What they should do is engineer them with a button-released catch, so that it's not a matter of forcing the limbs on and off, wearing down the plastic over time; you'd just hold the button and slide the connector off the peg.

I vaugely recall one of the third party Devastators having a system like this, correct?

Giant has that.

So because we didn't here any new news on FOC stuff does that mean the line is done?

I believe they were saying that the line will continue, but they didn't say in what form or which figures would be seeing release.

I hope for more Dinobots too.

Edit: I re-watchd the video where they announced Generations and yes, it does sound like they're continuing the Generations line, but I'm not sure if they'll be keeping them strictly as Generations Platinum or if they'll be seeing wide retail release.

I also noticed how the speaker placed emphasis on the word big when talking character sizes so I'm hoping that we'll be seeing more large figures in the future.

Edit again: Also found it funny that Omega Supreme got a round of applause and e. Optimus Prime didn't.

I thought it was kinda lame that people cheered for BB. I mean, come on, the one time you can give them some real feedback on the tiredness of the character... I know they mighta just wanted to keep the good vibe going, but its not like you can't just wait to see (in this case) Omega Supreme, and then cheer.

I wouldn't be surprised if what we've seen is it for FoC figures. The game being a one-time deal as opposed to a sustained series doesn't seem like it'd hold up an ongoing toyline 6+ months after release.

Then again, G1-inspired stuff seems to sell pretty well regardless...

On the other hand, if the Dinobots appear in Prime (which has been hinted if not out-right stated) chances are we'd see those versions instead of the FoC ones. Or neither...

And from my interview with Hasbro at SDCC ...

Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Please thank whoever. That's awesome I think. Looking at the size of some of the other items that are with the Marvel or G.I. Joe brands, you've got the giant heli-carrier for Marvel, I feel like Transformers is getting the short end of the stick as far as big products. Someone mentioned about Omega Supreme, Metroplex, Fort Max ... some of those big guys ... is there a chance of getting some love for some of those guys?"

Hasbro / Aaron: "I think that we recognize that those other groups have done that and even some other companies have. You know, $300 items, $400 items, in the market place not just for collectors or [conventions]. So it makes sense for us to look at that so we're starting that process because we do have big characters."

I find it funny that Omega Supreme was the only one that got real applause. Everything else was "so what do you think?" than applause. :MAXIMAL:

Most of this was Q1 2013 stuff, and we already know most of the Generations offerings for Q1 2013 from SDCC. If there's more, we'll probably see it announced at Cybertron Con in....January? February? Whenever that is.

Toy Fair 2013 is the next event that I will be covering which should have the 2013 Q1 and Q2 products.

I wasn't planning on it. When is Cybertron Con? I don't think 2013 has been announced yet.

That's a good question, actually. I thought I remembered it being in January-February this year, I see it was actually mid-March. I'd assume same time next year. So Toy Fair is first. Never mind, then.

This brings up an issue: when did we first see the RID Arcee and Ratchet molds? My friend and I swore it was Cybertron Con, but it looks like it wasn't. Pretty sure we saw them before Toy Fair. Whatever con it was that we saw them at, we believe that's where they'll showcase the Q2 stuff and beyond, as well as the robot modes of the various Predakings and the mystery figure from Voyager wave 1.
