No kidding. I just checked about 10 stores in my area --some near, some really far, no one has it or stocked today.

tornadosmith wrote:@StingerLAM, thank you for posting your experience, including the pix of the boxes and especially your receipt. My local Toys R Us in Johnson City, TN, gave me the 99.99 price instead of the 119.99 that was on their shelf, with no problems, no hassle, and no questions asked when they saw the print out of the receipt picture you posted on here. Double win: finally got an MP Optimus (had been checking for several weeks) AND didn't have to pay the increased price! I wanted to post this to encourage others to print out your receipt to take with them if they are hunting this item and to say THANK YOU!
I think part of the reason I managed to get them to price it down was because the intercom said something to the effect of "Have a question about an item? Just ask a sales associate. It's our goal to make sure you leave Toys R Us with something in your hands" just before I asked them, also I was basically faking confusion. Seriously, I said "I'm just a little confused about this, because I couldn't find a tag under it (lucky) and when I price checked it came up as 120 bucks, but then I saw the shipping box was marked as $99.99". The manager then proceeded to get the item number, follow me back to the isle, clime the shelf like an idiot, scan the box and then just say "well we're giving it to ya for 99.99 whatever the case" and I was golden. I even managed to get another guy (don't ask a single person more than one favor and make sure the next person you deal with didn't see you get help before) to find me a first edition Vehicon.SN95 Cobra R wrote:I found Prime today at my local toys R us marked $119. I pulled up pictures of cases and several receipts people had posted showing $99 and the manager was a little bit rude about it saying "Frankly I don't care about a box pricing discrepancy, this is my store and what is priced in my store is the final price." I was like "ok dude, sorry."
I had the 10 dollars off coupon that's good till the 10th but he just made me want to leave so I did.

Well I didn't take my Prime out of the package right away. But I finally did and he has the same problem with his chest panels. Considering it's about an hour or so to drive there, I got it marked down and the issue is so horribly common I don't see much point in trying to return it. My guess is that I couldn't return it because I got it for lower than current retail anyway.bfett88 wrote:Sounds like yours is doing the same as mine. I bet this is a pretty common issue. I was thinking about exchanging too. My guess is the next one I got would have the same issue. Hmm, I will have to wait and see.

I just opened mine today. There is a VERY slight gap, but nothing for me to be concerned about with mine. The hinges on the chest, as well as most of the others, are pretty tight too. The box which holds the Matrix seems to be the issue, I believe. But it's not enough on mine for me to be concerned. The bad thing, though, is my wife made me put him back in the box, since it's supposed to be a Christmas present.
BTW, love your Fett armor. Are you 501st, by any chance? I just acquired a Jodo Kast costume, myself. Gotta take pics in it tommorow to send for approval......
bfett88 wrote:As far as my prime goes. The gap in mine was really bad, the chest would not close all the way and it scratched the heck out of the bumper. I however exchanged it for another at TRU. The second one did not have the issue. The chest closed very nicely with just a slight gap and no damage to the bumper.

The others that got theirs are pissed at the amount of QC issues involved with such a costly figure...I couldn't blame them one bit. While the majority of us (like me) are still hunting or waiting for their pre-order.

I hope I'm not mistaken but I really don't wanna go back to find the actual post. Someone posted that to get a figure with the highest (or near highest) of QC that we would find acceptable, it would cost us $300+ for such a figure. It sounds like whether we pay $100-$120 (store price) we get what we pay for then...
Well with all the bad this figure holds I'm glad that my wanting him is for mere display sealed along with my sealed Hasbro Grimlock and Hotrod. The only MP I have opened and enjoyed with hardly no issues is (except the short exhaust pipes) the Hasbro 20th anniversary edition. With all the MP TC flowing in I hope that will happen too with OP.
So I say keep up the good hunt...'til all have one. Now I'm off to handle my heavy-metal MP Prime, I haven't done so in a long-ass time. I may do a look over to see if there were any flaws I may have missed.
