Because if it is, I'll have to get it and that MP Prime.

Generations are all FOC related. Masterpiece Optimus seems to utilize the last Generations series packaging. Perhaps as a way to tie him to Grimlock and Rodimus.

So I still wont be able to fill my G1 Soundwave spot, bloody typical.

Unfortunately, no. I don't think they plan on updating G1 Soundwave. I think the closest you'll get is the old SDCC set from a few years back. =\

No g1 mold will ever be part of my Classics collection.

So this means that news wise for me Botcon was super useless, save for Optimus Prime.

I hope Perfect Effect finally brings out that Soundwave they teased us with a while ago, I'm sick of waiting.

It's going to expand to become Classics/Universe 4.0 eventually, but it's launching with just FOC stuff to capitalize on the game. Voyager Soundwave is based on his WFC/FOC model.

In the concept art Bruticus looks nice, but the final product ugh, way too lanky of a figure, all the proportions are messed up.

No DOTM Deluxe Class Mirage, Soundwave, Leadfoot or the Leader Class Megatron and Shockwave they promised us.

Not like i was expecting them to keep their promises but it's still a huge diappointment.

Hasbro is getting lazy, too many retools, remolds and repaints. I like the idea of the Voyager Soundwave and Soundblaster but why they share the same mold and have the same datadisc/minion pack-in is beyond me.

Technically, deluxe DOTM Soundwave and Leadfoot molds WERE made, and the figures were sold, albeit only in Asia. The Target store exclusive version of Leadfoot (with a rumored Twin Twist figure) got as far as having a product code in Target's computers, but never got to retail for some reason.

The ONLY DOTM Mirage figure that made it to production was a non-transforming 'Speed Stars' version, something like a Matchbox/Hot Wheels sized car, and it only had his robot form sculpted on the bottom of the car. I'm not sure a deluxe version of Mirage was ever in the pipeline or even seriously considered, since another company holds the exclusive rights to do toy versions of Ferarri cars like Mirage's movie altmode. Even having said that, I wonder why they didn't do a genericised version of the Ferrari Italia, like they did with movie Sideways transforming into an Audi R8 in the movie, but the toy being a generic version of that. Mirage was kind of badass in the movie, so I DO wish they'd made a deluxe of him..

As far as the Leader class movie figures, I'm not too fussed about them. I have the premium version of the first movie Megatron, and his altmode and robot mode are the closest to his movie incarnation for my tastes. And I don't care about not having a leader class Shockwave, since he didn't do much in the movie. Leader class movie Soundwave would have been cooler. I also wish they'd done a Human Alliance Topspin, even if only to complete my HA Wrecker trio.

Now back on topic, I'm a little underwhelmed by the announcements except for a few things. I LOVE that they're repainting Arcee as Flamewar. Even though it's an existing character (albeit with a scarce toy), I don't think you can ever have enough fembots. That's also why I'm glad they're doing Airachnid in Deluxe and Cyberverse toys. I do like the Masterpiece Optimus, but doubt I'll get him unless it's convenient or not terribly expensive. I'm not a huge Optimus fan, but I do like the detail on MP versions. Not a huge Soundwave fan, but I do like me some cassette- er.... datadisc bots (especially Ratbat).

Other than that, not a lot piqued my interest, but there are a lot more Generations figures to come, so we'll see...

So if Voyager FoC Soundwave is near the size of Deluxe WFC Soundwave(since TFs are smaller now), then their wheels are about the same size. Those data disk guys are about the size of his wheel in disk form. WFC Soundwave's wheels are about the size of a quarter. Which means the disks are around the size of a quarter. Maybe a tad bigger.

So... they're pretty tiny. O.o

I must admit I for one am stoked for MP Optimus. ESPECIALLY now that we know he comes with trailer in tact  But I must say other than some of the Prime figures, FOC Shockwave, FOC Sideswipe, and Voyager Generations Soundwave there really wasn't a whole lot else. I had hoped to see the Dinobots but from what some are saying Hasbro doesn't "do" Dinobots anymore which in my opinion is preposterous. What kid doesn't dig dinosaurs that transform into robots and back? I may be a little biased but the Dinobots are one of the reasons I loved Transformers as a kid. I don't know, it just surprises especially how prominently he's been featured for FOC. Makes me wonderjust how big his role really is after all.

I heard Prime was going to add Dinobots at some point. Is this true or were they shot down by Hasbro?

Hasbro was gonna retire the Dinobots BEFORE they made it into FoC. Now though... no one but Hasbro knows for sure.

I dont think theyll be the same size, that wouldnt make sense

Heck, you can still order the SDCC First Edition Deluxe Optimus Prime in the special Matrix of Leadership packaging AND the NYCC Prime Bumblebee Taxi and G1 colors Arcee set.

Why not? It makes perfect sense to me.

Bigger deluxe = Smaller Voyager with extra accessories

Seems to fit nicely.

Not very impressed with what they revealed. I saw the pictures of Rumble, Ravage, Frenzy and they do not do the characters any justice. Looks like I will be focusing on 3rd party figures this year.

What justice is there to do? The only ones that have been shown were Rumble, Frenzy, and Laserbeak, in War for Cybertron. Laserbeak resembles his video game counterpart fairly well, except for the wing shape. Rumble and Frenzy are a similar case. You have to make exceptions to figures when something that is 2 inches tall is designed to transform.

We've never even seen Ravage in the Aligned Community (WFC/FOC+Prime), so who knows if he looks accurate or not.

"Rust in Peace" Zombie Cliffjumper: That's a very cool/disturbing case and the figure itself is awesome, many times better than Takara's Terrorcon Cliffjumper in my opinion.

Fall of Cybertron Bruticus giftset: Even game accurate colour schemes aren't enough to make me want these figures anymore. Uber pass.

As for the rest, I'll probably end up getting most of them but there's nothing that particularly blows me away. I'm highly impressed/stunned Hasbro is releasing MP-10 with its trailer, and I'm very happy voyager class figures are coming to Generations. Gives me hope for what's to come in 2013.

You have to make "exceptions" when Hasbro makes a 2 inch Transformer. 3rd party companies such as PE for example seem to make their 2 inch or less transform just fine with full articulation and heaps of detail. Don't make excuses for lazy piss poor design.

Ha! good point. But that's just what a 3rd party company charges for an item of limited run. Who knows,in reality, the actual cost of the figure. I bet if Hasbro made PE-09 and with all their resources they could sell it for 5 to 10 bucks much like legends class figs. Just a couple extra ball joints and a little more detail on a Legends figure and you have fully articulated and aestheticly pleasing TF.

I feel like the fact that the price is that much higher is simply because Hasbro isn't making them that articulated. All it is, is more balljoints... and more time spent in the planning process I guess. I'm probably over-simplifying, but you get my point. Hasbro is making this for kids who don't really care about articulation and.. the cool other stuff that really matters.

Hasbro Transformers also must go through more crap to get approved. Safety tests, drop tests, etc. 3rd party robots do not. Hasbro toys are also limited by budget. If a design exceeds $x, they must make it simpler. That's why toys like Universe Galvatron were made smaller. That's why toys like RoTF Devastator were made simpler.

I agree that it's BS, but there's nothing we can do about it, sadly. :(

You make it sound like you were there in person and held them in your hand. The figures aren't even out yet, and quite a few of the figures that were on display were mistransformed (looking at you, Insecticon!). I happen to love the Aligned continuity, ESPECIALLY the War for Cybertron game. To me, these figures are the perfect balance of accuracy and size limitations.

Either way, I'm going to reserve judgment until we get some in hand images, so Rumble (or is that Frenzy?) isn't just standing upright with arms to the side.

The hasbro panel was pretty mute when someone mentioned dinobots. They gave their usual "Stay tuned" answer ~shakes fist at aaron archer~:P We could see a big grimlock but the rest , if they do in fact get made, Will more than likely be deluxe.. They've already more than tripled the figure output of the 1st game so it will be intresting to see if the Dbots do get a gren light.~ crosses fingers for swoop~
