He-man and She-ra

Postby duragrip » Tue Sep 16, 2014 12:40 pm

I've always thought He-man and Adora would be a perfect match. I think they would go better together than He-man and Teela. Especially since He-man has the Power Sword and Adora has the Sword of Protection.

You would not know they were twins by looking at them. There was obviously chemistry between them when they first met, every time He-man visits Etheria, and at the end of the Christmas Special when Adora looks at Adam and says "Merry Christmas, Adam". That relationship dominated and overshadowed the presence of Teela and Seahawk. I think Teela could go better with Seahawk.

He-man and She-ra should be the power couple.

It doesn't matter if you can't tell that they're twins just by looking at them, they're still twins.

Couldn't Mattel create a parallel universe where He-man goes to Etheria to give the Sword of Protection to Adora, which turns out to be his soulmate.

I was very scarred by She-ra not going back to Eternia with He-man.

I always thought their combined power would be greater than the sum of their parts. This alternate story line would result in He-man leaving his father and mother on Eternia to be united to his wife Adora on Etheria. That way they could be together.

They would fight together to free Etheria from the evil Horde and live happily ever after. The End.

I know where you're coming from, but no matter how you cut it, they're still twins by blood, fraternal twins to be exact. Not all twins are identical, you know? It's that sibling bond that creates the "chemistry" you mentioned.

And if you actually watched She-Ra, Princess of Power, you'd see Adora says she's He-Man's twin sister in the opening credits. Every Single Episode.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I've never seen a brother and sister look at each other and hug each the way they did.

If they would have gotten together, Adora could have said, "I am Adora, He-man's wife...."

I'm sorry. I'm not implying that brother should marry sister. Let me make that crystal clear.

I'm merely saying in a reboot of the series, or a parallel universe, it would be more desirable for me that He-man goes to Etheria and gives the sword to Adora, and they fall in love, unrelated to each other.

It made no sense that Adora was never mentioned in the He-man cartoon, and that they gave up trying to find her. It makes the whole She-ra story sad from start to finish, when she flies away from He-man.

If they were soulmates He-man would have stayed with her on Etheria and fought by her side. It's consistent with "a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife".

Come on would you be able to rest until your baby daughter was found. Would you give up and stop talking about her? They had Zodac, who sees all that goes on in the universe, and was able to direct them to He-man after Skeletor banished him.

But that would go against the original point of the two shows...one for boys and one for girls (80s sexism woo!) I don't even know how much a fan base She-ra had or what it was in comparsion to he-man.

I'm sorry. I should have labeled this thread "Filmation He-man and She-ra" because like G1 Transformers, it is "Simply the Best!", better than all the rest.

Well She-Ra wasn't a concept when the show began, and when they came up with her they decided it was best to do a spin-off show instead of a third season of He-Man. At least, from my understanding, I'm no expert.

However, they did sneak a reference to her(and the Evil Horde, though not by name) into the episode "The Origin of the Sorceress":

That's her sword, and it wasn't an accident according to the producers/writers.

I would like to have seen a third season of He-man. Could they have made a third season? I know that girls were not buying the She-ra Princess-of-Power toys. I felt kind of bad that she was as strong and more powerful than He-man, had an extra jewel in her sword, extra healing and psychic powers, a sword that could transform into anything, and a sidekick who could fly.

Don't you think it would have been better continuity-wise for Adora not to have been kidnapped? It made it look like King Randor, Queen Marlena, Man-At-Arms, and The Sorceress all gave up and went on with their lives. They were failures as Adora's guardians.

Then it would of been difficult to put her in as he-mans sister, as kids wouldn't like it any other way

Re: He-man and She-ra

When I saw Hordak and Skeletor successfully sneak into the royal
palace and kidnap Adora from Queen Marlena and Man-At-Arms I was
sad.

When I saw Hordak successfully escape through a portal laughing,
shooting at, and taunting the Sorceress and Man-At-Arms I was
disheartened.

When Adora had to tell her parents that she had to leave Eternia
and go back to Etheria because of Hordak, I was mad.

When Adora was saying her goodbyes to Adam, Cringer, and the
Sorceress I cried, especially when the Sorceress says, "Just come back to us" and Adora replying, "I will", but she never did and now never will.

When Adora flew away on Swiftwind saying her final farewell to
He-man I was scarred, especially when I saw the tear fall from
He-man's eye.

So do you still think the kidnapping storyline was a good idea.
I think it damaged children all over the country, ruined their
childhoods like the death of Optimus Prime and the reformatting
of Megatron. Adora was kidnapped twice, once as a baby against
her will and again as an adult by her own choice because of
Hordak's manipulation, pressure, persuasiveness, and determination to keep her on Etheria and within his clutches.

The kidnapping made Adora's story a tragedy. Kids are not ready
for that. Let them be happy and enjoy the happiness of their
youth. Don't toss reality like that on them at such a tender, young, fragile age.

Like a certain couple in the Sailor Moon dub, who were not related at all in the original?
