Help me make sense of the trilogy

Why are the TFs on Earth? Each movie gives a different reason. The Allspark crashed here? The Fallen is here because of Energon and built some kind of harvester? Sentinel crashlanded here / planned to meet Megatron here / tricked OP into following him here to set up spacebridges, teleport Cybertron here, and turn us all into slaves? Help me.

Yes, I could bash these movies for their nonsensical plots, obnoxious performances, and the TFs being reduced to background fodder, but, God help me, I love these movies. That's all due to my love of love of G1 TFs going back to 1984, the outstanding CGI, Bay's visuals and action, and Peter Friggin' Cullen.

The Fallen and the other Primes came to Earth to harvest the sun. Some time after that the war started and Sentinel and Megatron made their arrangement to enslave the Human race to rebuild Cybertron. Sentinel left for Earth, but his ship was damaged and everyone thought he was dead. Then the Allspark was launched into space and Megatron went after it. Then a few thousand years later the Autobots and Decepticons track it to Earth.

It goes something like this:

- Fallen shows up on Earth, fights a war with the Primes. The Fallen is beaten but not killed, and the Primes sacrifice themselves to hide the Matrix. The Sun Harvester remains on Earth and the ancient Egyptians build the Great Pyramid around it.

- War rages on Cybertron. In an attempt to keep the Allspark out of evil hands it's launched into the void of space.

- Cybertron, royally screwed after ages of conflict, is a dead world. Sentinel Prime makes a deal with Megatron to use the human race as slaves to rebuild Cybertron using Earth's resources. Sentinel takes off for Earth but a miscommunication results in his ship being damaged. He ends up drifting toward Earth.

- Megatron departs for Earth, and upon arrival detects not Sentinel but the Allspark. In an attempt to find it he crashes in the North Pole and ends up Frozen.

- Around the 1960's Sentinel's ship finally manages to drift near Earth, crashing on the moon.

- Movie series proper begins some time after this when the Decepticons arrive on Earth after crash landing the Nemesis on Titan.

That's pretty much how I was rationalizing it in my head, but it still seems disjointed. I wish they'd done a better job of tying the stories together in the third, at least by having Megatron and / or Sentinel talk mention the Allspark and the Fallen and where they fit into the grand scheme.

The Allspark being on Earth was largely a fluke. Megatron was ultimately treating Sentinel (who the Decepticons knew was up there) as a backup plan by that point. His main goal was to get the Allspark and later the Matrix for his master, the Fallen.

Don't, just don't try to make sense of them, because it's all going to be thrown out the window come the 4th, and then again for the 5th and 6th and if there really is a god and he hates us, for the 7th again.

That's just perfect, man. Sadly, that's about as much sense as anyone could make of the plots.
