Help with Pyra Magna/Megaempress's axe

Postby MadProject » Tue Mar 21, 2017 6:13 am

Weapon: Sword
I finally received the other day my Megatronia set.
While I was building the sword, I noticed two pegs on Megaempress's axe, and I got no idea for what they're for.
I thought they were for a weapon storage in robot mode (like Lunaclub's and Moonheart's swords on their hips) but I can't find any peg on Megaempress compatible with the pegs, and the instructions say nothing about them.
Is it something present in Victiorion's instructions?

I would need to check mine later, but could they not be for the combined sword mode?

They're for the combiner sword. They peg into Flowspade's bow to form the quillons of the sword.

They're not. The pegs you're talking about are the rectangular one right below them in the picture I posted. In the combiner sword the pegs I'm talking about are unused.

Hmmm. Been fiddling with MegaEmpress. They don't allow any weapon storage, they aren't used in the combined sword, they don't let you form any alternate combined weapon modes.....Maybe they are from an idea that got scrapped but the moulded parts for it were left in the design, like classic Galvatron's cannon feet are still there.

Just a guess, but maybe the pick-axe was originally designed as a scythe, folding open for the combined sword? If so, I'm guessing the hinges would have been too fragile.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Sounds plausible, though instead of cutting that feature because of a weak joint (it would certainly be stronger than most of the folding helicopter blades we've seen) it was probably cut just to reduce part count.

The only thing I can do is confirm it does nothing in combined sword mode. I tried looking at mine and I have no answer for what it's for.

And I don't suppose there's nothing hinting at anything on the underside of Dustup's weapon? The crescent blade one?

No indents or anything I can see.

I have always thought Dustup's weapon as a bow. I suppose it could look like a Klingon Bat'leth a little. Though the way she's holding it in the gallery looks more like a bow to me. Of course there is no wrong way to imagine with your toys in my mind. Perhaps as the series goes on we will see her use it.

probably it's like you said.
I was also trying to look out for alternative storage (like the swords of Moonheart and Lunaclub can peg on their hips in robot mode) but I can't find anything, so the only think I can think of it's an unused feature cut down in the end.
