The tournament plan myself and Red have devised currently involves two tournaments anyway, plus we traditionally run a side game alongside any tourney. I see no reason why we can't incorporate a few under the same umbrella.

However, if anyone tries to take this away from Red and myself, horse head/bed interplay will occur. And not in the way Red's already used to.

well.. a good "Cybertron is dying" thing seems to befit TF's pretty well. The winning/surviving faction will own HMWv1 Cybertron, HMWv2 will take place on Gorlam Prime.

The Hunt/Search/Destruction/Defense of Vector Sigma before Cybertron truly dies and will become a ghost planet.

I think it will go well with IDW's current plans of introducing a "cybertronian" magnate civilization and that Transformers are not created by primus as his children but rather an advancement of "human" technology up to a point where enhancements of the human mind is no longer an option if you want "eternal life"

Basically, the planned storyline takes nearly every tourney that's been run for the past year and a half and finishes off a lot of loose plot threads from them. Hell, it finishes off quite a lot. Think of it as "Return of the Jedi", whilst the previous tournaments are "Blake's Seven".

Well, it ties up the loose ends of the tournies/games that myself and JP have run.

Is there definitely only the time for the one?

Just to play Unicron's advocate here (because I like the background behind several of the recent tournaments even if I didn't really take part): Some people might get annoyed or see it as inappropriate if the "official" End of HMW I Tourny is based on two people's pet project. So it seems a better idea to schedule in two; one for Jeep?'s and FE's storyline and a more generic its-all-going-to-hell tourny as the capstone event before the launch of v2.

Like I said, just voicing a concern.

Also, I don't suppose anyone still has the material from the DSA's planned End of V1 event, do they?

While I understand that Jeep? and Fearless Echoes have run many tourneys and would like to finish it off with a bang, I agree that this should be everyone's tournament. I feel that this should be everyone's tournament.

Though, I do think that they should submit their idea. If everyone wants to do it, then all the better :)

I'd be surprised if *anybody* has even come up with an idea for an alternative story line yet and it's not like we wont be asking others to chip in (we *always* encourage people from all four factions to both offer their charecters and teams and offer their writing skills). The only reason we havnt given more away yet is that we wanna keeps something for the tourniment, but everybody we have told it to agrees it's on the right track, and of the right substance for an event like this (although there are clues in the previous writings we've done (tournie and otherwise) and there would have been more had it not all gone tits up during the five armies tournie).

Right, I now know what Jeep and Redimus' tourney pitch will be (and I have to admit, it is totally awesome.) More will be explained as we get closer to making a decision.

But they are not the only players in HMW.
What I want from the rest of you guys is what YOU all want.

Want a huge kick-ass battle against 'canon' characters?
Want a knockout battle that actually kills your opponents permanently?
Want to fight against a world eating menace or just keep it between the 4 factions?
Want to make it Beast Wars era vs the G1-awesomeness era?
Want to kick the mouse in disneyland?

Throw them out there guys, everything will be considered.

Disclaimer 1: What follows is equal parts creativity, influence, boredom inspired insanity and wild ambition.

Disclaimer 2: Storylines, I can do. Tournaments, less so. I suck at organising stuff and don't have the time to arrange/plan the whole thing myself. If anyone likes these ideas enough to want to see it happen they'd need to be willing to help organise it.

Now for some meat, as it were.

Part I:

The Predacon warlord Magmatron has a plan that will ensure a total victory for the Predacons with a single keystroke. All he needs is a power source. At the same time, Megatron disappears. Seizing the opportunity, Starscream takes over the Decepticons and launches an assault directly at the Autobot capital Iacon. The city is quickly surrounded and cut off.

Optimus Prime, away from Iacon inspecting the Maximal front, leads reinforcments back to the Iacon but before they arrive someone triggers one of the mecha-forming systems dormant under Cybertron's surface. Autobot forces are scattered and Prime is MIA.

Leo Prime observes this disaster and takes an elite taskforce into the depths of Cybertron to investigate. Meanwhile, the Maximal forces strike at Predacon holdings to create a diversion for Leo Prime and his team.

This would be the longest part of a 3 part storyline. Each faction has a main goal (Seize/Defend Iacon, Hold/Take the Frontline) and a story related "sidequest" (Hunt for Megatron, Locate Prime, Capture the Power Source, Investigate the Depths). Idealy, each side quest puts the faction up against one of the other Generations sides, so if the main fight is Bot vs Cons, the Bot sidequest would go against the Preds/Maximals. Depending on who wins which advances the storyline in certain directions.

Part II would reveal the true goals and motivations of certain factions, while Part III would obviously deal with the various end games and such, while the storyline results in either a set up for the start of v2 or the destruction of Cybertron.

I dont want to give too much away, becuase I dont want to spoil anything, but the (very) basic idea we had for a structure is as such:

The fifth army from the our last tournie is up to it's old tricks, drivern by something unknown. The verious leaders of the 4 factions have seen enough, and all delcare members of the firth faction to be executed on sight.

Phase 1
Cue alt hunt where a yet to be specified number of charecters (some created especilly for this, some exisiting charecters in the fanhood (that may well include other commander's charecters should any be offered)) will be the targets. This by and large will be an individual commander competition, but may also provide a head start for for the most successful faction in the second phase.

Phase 2
The outlawing and hunting of the fifth faction completly fails to halt their advance, and spured on by something mysterious, they declare war on all Cybertronians. All the factiosn will need to work together to combat the fifth faction's threat. But will the opotunity to win over the other factions and finally end the cival war interfere with the battle to save cybertron?
Only time will tell.

Now quite how we achive this is still up to debate, and depends on verious things. But we're confident that we can run it in one form or another.

Also, this will not be the red and jeep show. As with anything I have ever been envolved in, we encourage any aspiring writers (with our guidence) to do their part, we really want fan charecters other than our own involed, we simply cannot run anything like this without players helping run it all, and frankly, we'de be very naive and/or arrogent to think that just cuase we have an idea we absolutly love, that other players cant add ideas which would add a whole new lever to it's awesomeness.

As well as the actual tournie, we are hoping to do some short stories and possibly mosaic style comics (if we can find a willing HMW player who is handy with photoshop or other art programs) to act as a build up/useful information/a little bit of additional fun in the run up to the tournie.

At this stage, as long as it dosnt starkly contradict the basic premis, any and all ideas are welcome.

I think we have makings of an extremely good tourney here.

Both Kaiju and Red's stories are very compatable, one has created a great story for a war and the others have created a unique side game that could run alongside it with a few modifications.

And if it helps, I can dust off the warmap I created a while back. Modify it for 4 factions and it could be useful...

The only thing i would say Psych is, it can be the best event in the world, with all the bells and whistles. But people can only participate in so many things at once, we dont want too much going on at once, and we dont want it to last too long either.

I cant remember why, but I didnt really partake in the warmachine thing. Wasnt it one thing at a time though?

(Dont get me wrong, I obviously expect more than one thing to be running at a time in this, it's become standard to have a main tournie and a mini game runing symaltainiously, but not much more than that in one go.)

Just a couple thoughts if we ran this for two weeks we could break this up into a big send off. Say week one we have three two day tournies,hunts what ever Each one has a point spread say like 50 then a week for JP and Red to run a tounie.

So we have a 100 points total, I think we could use Tam's scoring system for individual factions to grade overall preformance other then just a single event win.

Also the first week could be tied in to the main story of the final weeks event.

Basically, how I see this is as a large umbrella term under which we can set several events and tournaments. Without revealing too much, I can say that the main thrust of it will be very similar to the G2 comics stories, with all-out war, a faction that's everyone's enemy, and a Big Evil that rivals even Liege Maximo and/or The Swarm.
Over a three week period, we could tie any number of events into this, having them run into each other perhaps - if there are point awarded to the top 3 places for each individual event a final tally oculd announce the best player of the tournament, as well as the winning faction overall. I would only be wanting to run the event which is directly related to the story (and I'll probably need as much help as I can get), but anything else is free game for everyone to do what they want.

I wouldn't count on a lot of autobot participation if they run from Pred missions because of Merc/Loki challenging a much higher autobot frightens them, imagine what a tournament would do. They'd need their brown pants.
