My most expensive Transformer I ever bought was a Boxed Giftset Menasor in good condition. it was £220 that was waaay back i was working as a temp at Reed.

Personally I regret getting rid of my old Transformers which i did as i was fixated on Money and feel bad know.

I still ahve my old scorponok which I got restored just need to find some bits for it and it will be whole again.

I think my Jizai Cyclonus is probably up there. These were getting listed one at a time by a single seller on ebay and going for silly money. I must have been outbid on maybe 8 or 10 auctions before I finally managed to snag one. Looks great but kind of sucks as a toy unfortunately. Lack of posability, joints that don't support the weight needed of them and a tendency for the 'post and hole' joints to fall apart are all pretty major problems. If it ever got the remake treatment that Jizai's Wheelie has recieved recently, updated with ball joints and in a sturdier material than the original used I'd probably bite and pick up a more solid version, but in all honesty Universe/Henkei/RtS Cyclonus has made it a bit unnecesary for a 3rd party version at this stage.

I know I sound fairly negative about the figure but I do love the way he looks and don't have any regrets about having dropped a big lump of cash on it. I have decided against any more Jizai originals, although I'm in the market for the Superalloy version of his Wheeie design.

I was five or six when the g1 toys came out, so I had just about all of them from the first three years of manufacture, including guys like Fortress Maximus. I sold most of them last year ... but then it got me obsessed again when I saw all the cool masterpieces that had come out since then.

Right now I would like to get a king grimlock MP in the more silvery golden colors but I can't justify the price on it.

My grail, that I finally purchased after I sold so many other g1 transformers, was the blue blue streak. Of course it's a diaclone, but when I saw it on ebay I had to get it no matter the cost. Used to think about why my bluestreak was gray when the catalog showed him blue.

Finally bought 1 of the 2 grails I've been hunting.

Alternators Rumble. I've been after this guy for the best part of 4-5yrs, and he arrived today.
I just decided that I'd mucked about long enough, so bought one from a seller on eBay. The postage and the possible customs charges etc (which I did get hit with doh!) always put me off in the past.

So just HA Barricade next then...

I got a BW Neo Elephaorpha (Elephorca) a while back. It took me forever to find one on ebay and when I did, it was pretty pricey, but worth it (to me anyway) and I just acquired an RM-23 RobotMasters Lio Convoy (the metallic one that came with the DVD). Took me forever to track one of those down.

I also recently finally got the Unicron.com Golden Discs with Reader set, though I guess it's not technically a 'grail' any longer since the entire reason I was able to get one is because BBTS got more of them in stock (after many many months of it not being available anywhere at all, including ebay).

The only thing I'm still questing for is a Botcon 98 Antagony. The only one I've seen for sale anywhere is on Amazon for $850. I can't justify that price, even for a grail. I've paid stupid money for a figure before (around $200 for the TFCC Punch/Counterpunch), but I can't do $850 for an Inferno repaint.

My holy grail is Binaltech Black Convoy. I actually was fortunate to score two of them from the Wonderfest but sold one last year.

I never really had a "grail" per se, but I do have some figures I want but I'm not willing to pay stupid ammount of money to get them.

I mostly get my old TF from Ebay so I'm on the lookout for some great deals.

Not counting shipping costs, this is what I got and that I'm very happy to have.
Theses are among my favorite Transformers that I "finally" found on Ebay at a reasonable price. Theses, I have ZERO buyer remorse.

Takara Galaxy Force Galaxy Convoy, leader class, MIB, for 55$... back in 2007, before the Movie came out. It will be 3 full years before I buy another TF again. I bought that Optimus because the Movie somewhat gave me the TF bug and I downloaded all of the G1 episodes plus Galaxy Force. I LOVED Galaxy Force. Japanese with english subs, of course.

The next ones are from last quarter 2010 to today.

G1 God Ginrai, reissue, complete, stickers, manual, no box, for 60$.
First time since my childhood that I applied stickers on a Transformers. He's so much fun, he's still my favorite TF. Of course, I saw Masterforce before buying him.

MP Starscream, G1 colors AND ghost version. Both of them MIB and 93$ each.
My first Masterpiece figures. I really love them. So much that I spent almost 200$ to display them in a cozy black cublicle, lighted with DEL.

Armada Optimus Prime, complete with trailer for 50$. A bit expensive, but I wanted each Optimus Primes for my Optimus Prime collection. At first, I was supposed to just collect OP. Well, I started collecting Starscream, then the rest came along.

Armada Jetfire and Overload, MIB, Japanese edition, Korean version, 90$ total.
At last, Armada OP is truely complete! And he's HUGE!

Energon Optimus Prime, MIB, 90$. Yeah, Fatty Prime is ridiculous looking, but I kinda liked the Voltron look. Also, I wanted to combine him...

WITH WHAT I CAN CALL MY FIRST TRUE GRAIL:
Energon Wingsaber, Takara, MIB, 70$. Very VERY RARELY offered on Ebay. Even the American version. Each times I saw it, I was always broke and it always went for over 60$, loose. One or two MIB Takara versions are usually available for a whooping 140$+. But why I was able to score one at half the price, as a buy-it-now no less? Because the seller misslabled it as a CYBERTRON Wingsaber.
With any luck, you might still find one if you know how to look.
One corner of the box was crushed, but no matter. My goal was to open it up and combine it. Lemme tell you that Optimus Prime look quite badass with his blue shoulder cannons and red boots!

That's it for my most "graily" finds.

Honnorable mention to MP-01 Optimus Prime LAST SHOT. It cost 170$ shipped, pre-ordered from Amiami. Ultimate robot mode, but his disapointing truck mode for his price changed him from a "grail" to "just a nice cup".

What's the difference between that and the CHMS Gold Star (Starsream)

By the way, If anybody still wants these they should head on over to Aces before they are gone since it looks like KOtoys isn't selling TF related KO anymore.

KOLD: Knock Off Lucky Draw

Long story short, first release was almost a complete fail. Out of their initial run of 300 only a couple dozen were deemed good enough to sell. Out of that couple dozen, a handful were deemed A-grade. A-grade had consistent gold chrome throughout the figure while the others had chrome swirls. Also, this was the mold of the figure that had the eye indentation instead of the second with just the painted eyes. I wish I took a screen grab of the KOToys listing page or the forum page before it was shut down... But I never intend to sell mine (even though it may not be worth much to any other collector out there - I know its rarity, and that makes it my grail).

I also think I saw some out there with blue cockpit windows instead of amber (just google Gold KOLD Starscream and it should show up in google images)... but the amber windows just makes it perfect.

So it would be the bottom one I take it. The lighter gold looks real nice. I had picked up the one that looks like the top one in my one and only purchase from KOtoys. There are minor blemishes, but at least he didn't arrive broken like the clear Prime.

I still consider my Masterforce Overlord my grail, even though I've been thinking more and more about selling him.

Now i am on the lookout for those combiners:Abominus and Predaking.
