At $600 for Hercules, MP going for $300 (MP Thunder Cracker), and $100 for encores and $$$$$ for originals I believe that most of the serious collectors are Adults now, not saying there's not lots of young guys in the game, but the guys that own the stores and have the largest collections are older. Im 36 myself, and been collecting TF for only 4 years, My collection is worth $$$, it's a hobby for me that takes up an room in my basement, My collectables, computers, TV's, Electronics..

As far as I am concerned, you are never too old to have a happy childhood. :michaelbay:

I dont think you can be too old to collect something. Im 37 myself and I enjoy old toys and new ones as well.

i know my only problem is running out of room to display and collect figures at this point.

so here comes ebay and garage sales to thin my collection out and make it more enjoyable.

Maybe the op is worried about people making fun in some situations? I guess i was too around age 14 when i pretty much stopped buying figures for a while until Star Wars and Beast Wars came roaring back in 1995/1996. I think some people can ruin the fun but there is a whole world of people who make things better, like my Dad and family and other transfans.

My youngest older brother actually got me a loose cybtertron figure the past couple christmases although.. they were the exact same figure.

Keeping them both though as long as I can it helps to pass the time.

So I guess my only problem in collecting toys at an old age is having too many and needing to clean them out a bit. Its not as much fun parting with them but it is very healthy to do it.

and when ive made enough space ... voila theres space for something new!

I think they cant even have my toys when they can pry them from my cold dead fingers..
since Ill be back as a zombie toy fanatic :)

I am probably the oldest transformers collector. I just turned half a century old in June. The big 5-0! I have been collecting ever since 1985. My lovely wife of 20 years tolerates my collector fever. Our one and only son is 18 yrs old and has loved transformers eve since he was born in 1995. I have four cases full of transformers figures and more still in plastic bins. Transformers among other things has been a special bond between my son and I.

My son and I have our priorities agreeded upon in case of fires of tornadoes: 1) Back the ruck up and load up all the transformers we can that time safely will allow, 2) one back in for the wife and cats! Lol!

I'm almost 30 and I still collect things like Jurassic Park, Transformers, Mortal Kombat, Stargate, and sometimes Star Wars. I don't think there's an age range for it. If anyone tells you that then they obviously don't understand. Obviously I'm responsible with it or at least I try to be. If it's between bills and toys I'm choosing bills. I can always get the toys later.

I shall be 37 later this year. TF's are still strong in my blood.

Yup... this!

I just turned 40 this last Spring and I have no intentions of stopping this hobby anytime soon. I don't keep the figures in their original packaging because that takes up an INCREDIBLE amount of space which I absolutely do not have. I had some Premium Series figures in their original packaging for a while but a massive roof leak pretty much ended that as they got soaked and the cards destroyed. Now it's just my Comm. Edition G1 Prime that retains his original box. They are there for MY enjoyment and I don't care about re-sale value at this point in time.
There is no age limit. Do whatever makes you happy for as long as you darn well feel like. Many of the boxes suggest "ages 7 & up" but they never say just how far up. ;)
