when I try to transform blackout back into alt mode, the automorph section goes half way and stops. anyone know how to fix it? I figured out what was wrong, the gears that control the automorph weren't lined up on the same teeth. I took blackout apart and lined the teeth up and it works now.

Dude i have exactly the same problem! Im glad that im not the only one. He looked well in the box, the transformation to Robot mode was ... well alot easier than transforming him back. The automorph in Blackout just sucks! ... Its something to do with the 3 black inner-plates there connects the tail to the back in robot mode i quess so.
Well it toke me 4 hours to transform him right, of cause i had alot of breakes and i gave up sometimes.

Do you have some pictures of your process? Do he work perfectly now?

Can I just say thaks you very much for this - I was having the same problem and didn't think of taking Blackout apart but I gave it a go and after a few tries managed to get the nose section lined up properly. This toy is one of the most awkward tfs I've ever encountered though. Thanks again.

Did you repair him with the head up or down?

I'm getting closer to having mine align properly, but I'm not quite there yet.

Any help you guys can offer will be appreciated.

In case anyone is wondering, here are the specific instructions for realigning Blackout's automorph:

In helicopter mode:

1. Remove blade assembly. It's much easier to work with.

2. Rotate starboard wing (arm) up to access screws.

3. Completely loosen screws.

4. My gears on the starboard (screw) side were positioned too low. I had to pull the head/cockpit piece forward, and then replace a little higher up on that side only.

5. Replace screws.

6. Rotate startboard (screw-side) wing back down and clip in place.

7. Hold legs tight against underside of helicopter. Legs should peg into the holes, winges should be tabbed in hear front of wing assembly.

At this point, if your cockpit still isn't completely aligned, lather, rinse, repeat. Again, my cockpit was a little too low on the screw side. Your may be too low on the other side. If this is the case, you'll need to adjust accordingly.

Don't expect the automorph to work in reverse. I still need to push it along when converting back to helicopter and it does click.

When converting to robot, folding in the blade assembly causes the head to rotate halfway. Clipping in the legs (which still takes a bit of elbow grease) rotates it the rest of the way.

That's pretty much the method I followed except Ihad to take both sides of the helicoper front away to do it. It took me about four attempts ut eventually got it right.
