I just attempted to watch DOTM...

...It was like a badly written cross between Independence Day and the Doctor Who The end of Time.

I couldn't stand to watch the whole thing without a couple of breaks playing TF2. (With the film still playing in the background)

It's hard to overstate my disappointment.

Please watch this video to see how I like my transformers cinematics:

(And the worst part is that it isn't coming out on the PC platform!)

And also, my 9-year old sister was watching it with me. Sure, I expected it to be bad, but she's fine the first TF film and from my original understanding this was better than ROTF. Wrong!
They dropped the Goshdarn F-BOMB in a PG-13 film! Flak it, PG-13 is the old R.

Michael Bay and his writing squad have been demoted to 'schweinehund' status in my books.

Don't know what to tell you. Everyone has different taste in movies and what they like. Liked the movie just fine. The movies got my 14yr old nephew into TF's and can't stand G1 (to corny for his taste) and cringes at thought of beast wars. (i kinda feel the same way)

It is what it is. even if you don't like like it just remember that the profits at least helped fund other TF series and toys (generations, TF: Prime and Animated (well TF1 helped that)) not to meantion WFC and FOC games.

If you diidn't like any of those then i still don't know what to take ya.

Yeah. You put up the trailer for FOC. That's your WFC and DotM dollars at work. Well, the dollars from the toys of those 2, anyway... :)

On the contrary, over half of the DOTM figures I have bought in
the last year where on sale. And I borrowed DOTM from my library, and I've never bought WfC
either.

And I only bought 2 WfC figures.

And besides, even if I didn't buy anything made by Hasbro, how big of a difference would it make?
My main gripe is against the TF film writers, not the people who fund them. And even if I could make a difference and stop Hasbro from funding Bay and his madmen, then he'd just go and ruin some other fandom's life.

I am just sickened that this is a film that was indirectly marketed to children. Meh, that's what I get for living in a Capitalist society where no one has any taste or moral compass.

I agree partially that Orci and Kurtzman are talentless hacks, but Ehren Kruger did alright with Dark of the Moon. It was much better than Revenge of The Fallen. They fit a lot more story into roughly the same amount of time. I'm putting just a little of the blame on Bay, because when the writers' strike happened, he had to fill in what O&K couldn't so the film would come out on time, and he miserably failed. I would have much rather had RoTF come out in 2010 with enough time to get a decent story. That way we could have done without leg humping and Devastator ballz.

IMO, Bayverse, from best to worst, storywise (including action, comedy, flow of story, character variety, development):

DotM
2007
RoTF

The F-bomb was, for whatever reason, added in the DVD/Blu-Ray. The theatrical version only had "freaking" or "fu--(*cut off by something*)".

I suppose one could argue that PG-13 implies the audience should be 13+ (i.e. not a "family film"), and the vast majority of 13+ knows of the F-bomb in at least the non-sexual explicative form (i.e. the form used in the movie).
And I suppose there is a bit of a contradiction if you're fine with multiple "****"s and Optimus violently tearing his opponents to shreds but not with the non-sexual explicative form of the F-bomb used once.

The F word is allowed 3 times in a PG-13 movie. Anything over that, and it's rated R.

I'm not sure how DOTM had much more story than ROTF... I thought it felt a lot more simple. A Cybertroinain ship crashes on the moon, it's captain turns out to be a traitor and tries to enslave humanity.

In ROTF, they managed to give the full story of the Primes, The Fallen, The Matrix, and what it meant to be a Prime.

Yeah, and that by itself could have been stretched out over 3 movies. That's why RoTF was so convoluted, they threw everything in hastily. The writers' strike is partially to blame for that, and like I said, Bay's attempt at covering up the holes with juvenile crap utterly failed, but in the end the story was missing some epicness. And what's more epic in Transformers than the story of the Primes and where the race came from? Unicron, maybe, and even he can be tied into it. I'd love to see a future film come back to RoTF and reveal that Unicron had influenced The Fallen to turn against his brothers, thus picking up this (IMO unfinished) story of the Primes.

DotM is probably my least favorite of the 3. I think it's because the human crap stole focus more than it did in the other 2. In those it took a backseat once the good stuff started happening, but in DotM it butted in and brought the movie to a halt. Like when they were in Sam's apartment trying to figure out what the Decepticons were up to, Carly walks in and it shifts to their relationship for like 5-10 minutes. Then after the Autobot ship gets destroyed it became about Sam trying to save his girl. Never mind the human race is a gnat's eyelash from being enslaved and the Autobots are the only ones who can stop it. Sam securing his piece of tail is more important. Plus she was useless anyway, at least Mikaela could take care of herself. I still likes the movie anyway, but that stuff brings it down for me.

I think we all could do without the humans.

BTW, (and I'm sure this has been brought up before) I was surprised the 1st Bayverse gestalt wasn't Bruticus, considering how much Bay sux the military's ballz.

For the record, I really liked Dark of the Moon, but it sure does warm my heart to see that we still can't accept that some people didn't like the movies, nor can we universally accept the pleas and cries of the movie fans of "Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, so let them have it!"

TF '07 was actually a pretty good 1 hour and 45 minute movie that got bogged down by an extra 45 minutes of unnecessary BS. It's not great, but it's okay.

Revenge of the Fallen had a hundred different plot shreds that went nowhere, added up to absolutely nothing, and made no sense, but it was still quite enjoyable, provided that you're so drunk, stoned, or retarded that your brain is incapable of processing any thoughts more complicated than "whoa, cool" or "heh heh, he said scrotum".

Dark of the Moon was just hashed together from bits and pieces of other Michael Bay movies. The BS "Sam looking for a job" angle is just a rehash of the previous movie's BS "Sam going off to college" angle; the highway chase scene is just made of recycled footage from The Island with some CG robots added; the last hour is just a repeat of the last hour of the first movie, with different CG robots. It's better at hiding its plot holes than RotF was, but the story is just as nonsensical regardless. It's tiresome and probably the most boring action movie I've ever seen.

Too bad I am capable of processing more thought than that, asshat. So you're saying that every person in the world who liked ROTF is retarded? Ok,I see how it is. I should probably go and get myself checked into a mental institution right damn now. It's been a long time coming.

Hey dude, it's not like "on drugs" is inherently an insult. Personally, I love drinking 8-12 shots of vodka and sitting down for some giant robot fighting and testicle jokes, and one of these days, I'd like to watch Tron Legacy under the influence of MDMA.

Don't take everything so personally. Jeez.

I've never done drugs and I've watched ROTF over and over again, paying attention to every damn detail and there are no plot holes. Not many anyway.
