It is the year 3005. IDW Publishing has conquered the Autobots' home planet of Cybertron. But, from secret staging grounds on two of Cybertron's moons, the valiant Autobots vow to wait it out longer and see if the Autocracy trilogy TPB will get its 19,000,000th solicitation next month.

That's fine by me. I really don't need a collected edition of that trilogy. It's a wet fart.

That's most of IDW in general.

Do you actually have anything meaningful to contribute to the conversation?

Does IDW have anything meaningful to present anymore?

Seriously there are some great stand out stories like the Spotlights, Wreckers and a few others but most of IDW is a massive wasted opportunity and unfortunately IDW has gone on for so long that it's stagnated and not going anywhere.

This is a comic problem in general but there have been so many different series, writers, artists, ideas that IDW is no longer coherent and is a jumbled mess especially with all theses god damn crossovers with dead franchises that were shoved in a long running series which is a beyond retarded decision to make that is only going to hurt the continuity in the wrong time. Writers that used to make good stories haven't made any good issues in awhile (Looking at you Roberts specifically) and personalities don't exist beyond generic stereotypes.

The story has gone on for way too long now, going by the publishing dates for all the IDW series the war lasted from 2005 to 2011 which is 7 years afterwards after the war it's been 5 years which is an awfully long time to spend on the aftermath, I'm also bloody sick of waiting for the plots I followed to end like I don't want to wait 20 years to find the Knights of Cybertron who are probably dead by now with Rodimus's/(Roberts) non existent progression, there is a reason series should just end before they become awful, it would be really boring if G1 actually lasted for 33 years instead of reinventing itself.

I'm bored and I'm also angry with the spoiled fandom what else is there to say? The movies are a trainwreck, Rid basically doesn't exist since it never airs, Cyberverse is going to be more G1 pandering to hide a probably low effort show and the comics are taking their time to finish the meaningful things while tripping over their feet and making mistakes, it's sad when the best thing in the last two years to me is god damn Nitro Zeus. (Who is amazing regardless but still)

So yes IDW is a wet fart.

The Autocracy trilogy is okay, but along with Drift: Empire of Stone it's definitely one of the most skippable parts of modern IDW. Neither are particularly bad or anything, but don't have anything much to contribute to the overall universe nor are they amazing stories in their own right. Again, not bad stories, just... there.
Colour me confused on why it seems to get re-released all the time.

Well, I was planning on picking up Autocracy, Drift and The Wreckers, but now I'm not sure. I haven't read any of those series, except parts of LSoTW, so I wanted to get them all when they were together. But if Autocracy and Drift are mediocre, I guess I'll pass. I don't think IDW's stuff is that good anyway, but I like the older series better than the new stuff.
