I liked your review very much, but with this opinion I disagree wholeheartedly.
You disagree that the 2012-summer 2016 IDW run is arguably the best long-form, cohesive story run of Transformers comics ever? Does that mean you agree that it is? Or that it is not and this is inarguable? The words of my sentence in the review express that this is one opinion some have that others do not, and those that prefer another run over this one would have valid points to argue, hence use of the word "arguably".

I re-worded that sentence about 8 times last Tuesday night. Guess it still missed the mark. [-(

That raises a lot of questions in terms of Cybertron's creation. Was it really Primus? Or is Roberts taking some cues from his own fan novel and trying to bridge the gap between the cartoon and comic creation myths?

Were the planets Skids saw on the other side of Tyrest's portal exact copies of Cybertron?
We're on the same heading here. Here's my insane, not-rooted-in-evidence-and-more-speculation-than-anything theory about all of that: the planets that Skids saw in issue 21 are the Knights of Cybertron, bound into planetoid forms. They were trying to express to Skids what was going on and how to help, but he ended up having to go back to the other side of the portal to help a certain bot from being destroyed...

OK, maybe I misunderstood. I don't think it is the best run of TF comics ever, though it's in the top 3. The Marvel U.S. G1 comics will always be better to me than anything else that has come along so far. MTMTE is quite good, though. It got me back into reading comics after I haven't kept up with them for 7 years.

Ooooohh, gonna bounce off this idea
I'd have to take another look at the scenes on the other side of the portal to check the number and colour of the planets, but what if they were the rest of the guiding hand? Supposedly the hand became vector sigma, the matrix, and the first t-cog and brain module (with mortilus having been destroyed), but in a lot of fiction primus and cybertron are considered essentially one and the same, so if there's further copies of cybertron, perhaps that's where the sparks of the hand could be...?
EDIT: a couple images for reference ;)

So, Ive had some time to process. I went back, and re-read MTMTE from the point Megatron joined up till 55. I've sat and thought about it, and I think I'm done with this title for a while.

Now, before anyone jumps up and down screaming "troll", or even worse "1984", I fully acknowledge that a lot of my ill feeling comes from personal bias. I didn't like how the story went, therefore I'm not enjoying it. If I'm not enjoying something, I'm not going to keep paying for it. I don't buy into "support it in case it gets better". To much capitalism in me. Anyway, I'll explain a bit better, but let me say I also don't blame the creators of the book, I blame Hasbro. The stories and conclusions feel rushed, and its because Hasbro is forcing the Titans Return crossover. I know IDW and several of the comic writers and artists have said Hasbro doesn't have that kind of influence, but I firmly believe they are just protecting their jobs. I don't blame them, paychecks are important. However, Hasbro is a major corporation, and all major corporations are all about the control. Hasbro is forcing the comic to align with the sales plan, and its destroying the enjoy ability of the book for me. Anyway.

MTMTE got me back into comics after about a ten year hiatus from reading them. I used to be an avid comic book nerd, but during the original Civil War event, I got tired of them. I got tired of storylines being set up, characters being built up, and big events, reveals, and excitement promised, only for it all to end with little or no payout, simply because it was time to move on to the next big event.

That's what I feel happened this issue. All of the set up was tossed out the window simply because its time for the next big event. Tarn is Glitch? What. The. Actual. ****. For me, its simply not acceptable. I know some of you feel that Tarn being a nobody makes sense, but it was never built up that way, and feels like the biggest of copouts. Deathsaurus was built up as this Decepticon with a conscience, but his big moment was to simply run away.

Hey look! Its Overlord! Hey look! There he goes.....doing nothing....

At the end of the day, this issue, or maybe even this whole storyline, had reminded me of everything that made me quit comics in the first place.

You know what though? We don't hold the same opinions about the book, but you have an honest one, so don't feel ashamed at all to hold it! Not to say you do, but in stating your opinion with a detailed explanation and reason there's no worry about being labeled a troll ;)

Just do let us talk you in to coming back to give things a chance sometime after Lost Light gets going (if Revolution doesn't ruin everything forever.)

Glitch, did not see that coming. Probably should have, but didn't.

Overall, it was a good story to me. Yes the reveal was really nothing special but how could it be? If they had used Glitch's birth name the reveal would have passed right over several people.

The time-displaced bots? nice touch, and in theory the Necrobot going back in time to save them could very well be the reason they disappeared in the first place (like rung in the bar fight).

Overall, decent and good, but not perfect, as has been stated. Definitely going to be better as a TPB to read. But I liked it. Just gotta wait almost 5 months before we get a resolution to the cliffhanger.

Kinda wondering what's next for Megatron from here. I do feel sad about certain Decepticons killed off though, but I'd rather Megatron live to be entirely honest since he's getting some nice character development I feel.

Lost Light starts in December, so until then, it's unlikely we'll know what actually happened after that last page.

I'm not so sure he will blame Megatron. Now that Soundwave is basically on the same level as the Autobots, I don't think he'll blame Megatron. But then again, who knows how a conversation between the 2 would go now, all things considered.

And like Va'al said, the next 2 issues are titans return with Fort Max and Red alert, then a break, than a single MTMTE Revolution title with the Scavengers, then December comes

Here's an interesting log on the fire:

There's 2 rungs. One MIA from the alternate lost light, possibly dead.
There potentially exists one of him dead in his alt mode already, not dismantled.

In addition. Rodimus's half of the Matrix, which was destroyed during the events of 'the dying of the light' was also duplicated, and remains MIA. So the full matrix itself is not gone for good.

:-?

I wonder how many of these little loose ends there exists because of the the quantum explosion.
