i thought it involved the event horizon spliting particles into their matter/anti matter constituents on the quantam level and the anti particle floats away to be annihilated while the matter one falls into the black hole . this would mean megs some how just channels that before it hits a matter particle. but it seems they produce antimatter as a by product of the high energies involved in consuming a companion star.

heres an article on it.

didnt know theres a bloody enormous cloud of the stuff surrounding the galactic center (which we now know has a bloody great supermassive black hole smack bang in the middle)

Glitch is nobody. Tarn was a characer to be feared but he only existed with taht mask on. In the end, his identity didnt matter, it was his current identity which was the main threat and who he wanted us to know him by. So I am ok with it. It does make that UW Warrior even odder now though.

I didnt think it was that. Because he could have stayed a bit longer now? I thought he left because all along he had wanted Megatron to see what he had become but that now he didnt need any recognition from someone he now has no respect for.

I loved those panels. They were connected. It did make me also think of the scene in Dark Cybertron where we see SOundwave thinking of turning Ratbat into a casette. I dont know how that works and how he was turned obedient but would this mean that he and the Senetor shae a similar technobiological link?

Ratbat was dead before Dark Cybertron, maybe you're thinking of Megatron Origin or one of the pre-Dark Cybertron comics from exRiD? Either way, Ratbat was forced into his cassette position. Ravage, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw were all close to Soundwave and actually helped him grow as a character and find his way to a prominent position from the wretched position he started in, so those 3 are more like family to him, considering the others were forced into being his partners

That brief, wordless scene with soundwave was brutal. I honestly had to stop reading for a minute when I first saw it.
Regarding ratbat though, I'm assuming that aswell as the spark and brain module transfer, there was some form of shadowplay. It almost reminds me of the domestication process we've become familiar with recently, but to a less extreme extent.
I think the mental link, or at least such a strong mental link, is unique to Ravage however. Soundwave still (as we saw an issue or two ago of RID) has his telepathic abilities, even if he doesn't use them much, but it was Ravage who initially taught him how to control them and escape the sensory overload (having had similar experiences himself with his over-sensitive nose). I assume that because they both have incredibly strong senses, and because of their personal bond (plus, ravage was initially on the lost light at soundwave's behest, to keep an eye on megs), soundwave is particularly "tuned in" to ravage's telepathic signal, hence being able to literally feel his friend's death from across the galaxy

The second paragraph is a great explanation, better than mine.

And it did hurt to see Soundwave feel his death, especially considering Soundwave has recently become a protagonist now. That made the death very felt, as it has with Nautica holding Skids body over the last 2 issues

Was I unclear? Sorry. I just read the issue and reading the comments it seems people were a bit dissapointed with the reveal of who tarn was. But I wasnt and I get what they were doing. Not only was Roberts going against expectations ( while part of it was in your face), this tells us that all along it didnt matter who Tarn was. What mattered was who he had become. The mask was more important than the person under it.

No I am thinking of Dark Cybertron which has a flashback scene of Shockwave and Soundwave talking together and Soundwave telling him what he plans to do with Senator Ratbat. That scene freaked me out a bit because I always assumed these were Shockwave's friends and this seemed extreamly vengeful of the guy who is usually the calmest person in the room. What was probably my favourite part of the whole storyline which I mostly didnt like to the point of being turned me off from reading the rest of RID.

Exactly my thoughts. I feel Roberts was being very meta with us - he was drawing us in with red herrings as to who he might be; building up this big mystery. And at the end of it... he says it doesn't matter who he used to be. Which, honestly, I feel is right and a good lesson especially for this day and age. If someone is such a psychopath, such a terrible monster; whatever nice person they might have been before doesn't matter a bit. There's no saving them, there's no redemption; there's simply a monster - which contrasts very well with Megatron's arc because Megatron wasn't quite at that point. There was still some potential left in him because he was starting to be aware he was a monster; he realised he could try and make amends once he saw that what he was doing was no longer in the best interests of his race. Tarn? There's nothing. Straight and simple he wants to gut the hell out of whoever says the slightest whisper against the Decepticon Empire. Maybe he cares for his teammates; maybe he felt Nickel was worth saving... but he's too far gone. There's a lot of themes of past selves and changing ideologies and personalities over time in this 'season', and I think Tarn wraps it up very well.
... also it's kind of funny to think that Tarn was one of the first in Optimus' 'army'.

No, that part was good, I was confused as to your last line there. should have narrowed that down for you

Yeah, it was in one of the preludes that the flashback happened in.

As for the actual storyline behind it, Ratbat was a corrupt politician in the old senate that was running Cybertron. Soundwave was taken on as his aid basically, but Soundwave did not like him for his strong beliefs on "alt mode determines function" thoughts, and Ratbat did not like Ravage, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw since they were animals and to him barely sentient. So when Soundwave fell in with Megatron, and Starscream and Soundwave killed the Senate, Soundwave kept Ratbat alive to make him his partner in a shrunken deployable form. So Ratbat was never a true partner like the other 3 beasts, but rather was given punishment for his ideals and corruption.

Rumble and Frenzy were redesigned to work with Soundwave, and ended up bonding with the guy and liking him. Ratbat was never really part of Soundwave.

I think Will's talking about the Unite Warriors Wandering Roller, part of the Grand Galvatron set.
It was a Rook redeco as Roller, with a bio saying something about him having been abandoned, gotten lost through the universe, and became fixated on revenge against those who abandoned him (OP and the crew), hence turning decepticon/rogue autobot? Something along those lines, anyway- it seems the writers at Takara had gotten a little on board with the Roller=Tarn (or at least Roller=evil) theory.
Tarn being Glitch, and Roller being good, in the comics means the the UW version of Roller ends up in an odd place where he doesnt really fit in to any continuity. (Then again, the same could really be said for most of Grand Galvatron, or even the funny little UW manga shorts he appears in as far as I'm aware)

Roller's motivations and such in the UW manga were a bit... weak, generic and ill-fitting of MTMTE imo so I'm very happy it gets shunted into it's own continuity.

Well now, they have absolutely nothing in common haha

But man, that wandering Roller is now more random than ever.

Wasn't quite sure where else to put this since there isn't a general MTMTE thread and maybe someone's already drawn these parallels but

-Colour scheme consisting of shades of orange/yellow
-Transforms into basically a shape
-Comic-original character
-Autobot that is weak and not well-suited to combat
-Has a unique single arm with a microphone at the end of it
-All of the letters of the name 'Rung' are within the name 'Scrounge', even in order

I was just thinking of this today when in the shower and I'm not saying it actually means anything beyond a bizarre coincidence but what the ****

This is a whole new tier of crackpot theory and I love it.
Thinking about it though, the often-quoted anecdote about Scrounge is that he "has a special arm" and "there is no other like it!"
As you point out, Rung's is pretty similar, so either they are indeed the same person, or it's all a conspiracy, and Scrounge's arm isn't quite as special or unique as he claims...
I'm like 95% sure we're miles off the mark here regarding the mysteries surrounding Rung, but it's fun to theorise

I'm willing to bet it's the one thing that Roberts didn't do by intent and is legitimately a coincidence... but then again, this is Roberts. My shower-born 'theory' is crackpot and it probably won't happen in the slightest... but I wouldn't be surprised if it did with him

Don't forget about those crackpots who 2 years ago said Glitch would be Tarn and everyone ridiculed. Even coincidences can lead to real story stuff, like how in the original Windblade miniseries Sarah Stone chose blue for energon instead of standard pink and that has since been used as a story point for Camiens and that they bleed different. Same goes for the glowing matrix from combiner wars

Anyone know if the end to MTMTW 55 has been followed up anywhere. I picked up 56 and it was totally urelated. I was unaware of the crossover.

It'll be followed on in Lost Light #1. MTMTE #56 and #57 are part of Titans Return and focus on Fort Max and Red Alert, while the Revolution tie-in features the Scavengers. This is basically a couple of interludes until Season 3 officially starts.

It'll be followed on in Lost Light #1. MTMTE #56 and #57 are part of Titans Return and focus on Fort Max and Red Alert, while the Revolution tie-in features the Scavengers. This is basically a couple of interludes until Season 3 officially starts.

Do you have to read the rest of the crossover or is Roberts making it so that you don't need to and can just focus on MTMTE?

Well, it's not finished yet and we don't know it's consequences so far all we know it could provide added context for later events... but from how it's looking right now, don't think you'll need to no.

The MTMTE part of Titans Return is meant to be read as just MTMTE so you don't need to read the rest of the crossover. If you are reading the other stories, there are spoilers, but MTMTE Titans Return can be read alone by itself.

And the main Lost Light crew will not be back in the spotlight until December

I still wonder if Rung's alt-mode is a time briefcase. It was just this weird hunch I had based on the color scheme, it being labeled as an "ornament," his fears about it being discovered, and the severity his being terminated would do to the time continuum. Besides, even his name -- Rung -- means basically a part or step of a greater structure, which each of the briefcases were.

It's probably stupid and already disproven somewhere I haven't seen, but it is the kind of mind-blowing secret I would expect from Roberts.
