At this point, the cost is all relative. Sure, I don't want to pay $34.00 for a 3rd party toy that falls into the Scout class size no more than the next collector, but I probably will anyway just to get a cool looking not-Brawn and not-Cosmos.

Look at it this way... how many of us paid $50.00+ a piece for FansProject not-Blast Off and not-Swindle, both of which were Scout size too? Sure, they had all those weapons and accessories to help build Bruticus, but the lack of those weapons and accessories didn't stop some of us from paying basically the same price for them when they were re-released as repaints as Flameblast and Warcry.

Then there were those of us that complained of the $100.00 price point of each of TFC's not-Constructicons, that if you wanted to build not-Devastator, you had to come up with $600.00. We bitched and complained and yet, I've seen online that there are those out there that bought not one, but two and three sets. A cost of up to $1800.00! I myself bought only one set, but kudos to the hardcore fans that came up with $1800.00 for three sets.

We bitch and complain because HasTak turns out a toy that doesn't pay homage to the Gen 1 form, that is, when they actually do turn out a toy to pay homage to the Gen 1 form. So we turn our trust towards the 3rd party groups, knowing that one of them will come to our rescue when they hear our cries. Then we bitch and complain about the price, yet the toy is so cool that even the Gen 1 character itself would be proud. So we buy it anyway, hating to pass it up for fear of waiting too long for them to sell out at the current price, only to be double that price months later on ebay.

Some of you are even hoping they re-release the not-Seaspray and not-Huffer in Scout size, accepting the fact that the price may be equal to this not-Brawn's or not-Cosmos' and are willing to pay the price as well. Kudos to you as I stand with you in hopes of that Scout sized not-Huffer and hopefully later a repaint/remold of not-Pipes.

Though we bitch and complain now about the price of the not-Brawn and the not-Cosmos, over the next four months, we will rearrange budgets and take a sandwich for lunch instead of ordering out just to be able to have these guys stand alongside our other Generations/Classics figures by August.

Beezelboss/Renderform Goldbug kits cost $30 just for a head and guns. That's without the shipping cost. With this, we are getting a larger size figure from the last two mini's, and very good updated representations of these guys. I will place preorders on them after botcon, let my wallet breath for a lil.

I agree Prime Evil. The price jump is a little more than I expected/wanted but they are still well within the boundaries of third party price points. I'm excited for these two and their new scale. Preordered at BBTS.

Agreed, and also pre-ordered from BBTS. I know I have paid more for third party scout sized figures in that past and honestly "Hench" is about the size of Classics Bumblebee, which to me is a wonderful size/price ratio. Yes "UFO" is a tad shorter, but I don't mind it ... in fact I like it.

On an unrelated note, I did not purchase the first two iGear mini-warriors as I did not like them ... they just didn't seem worth it, even for the $15-18 prices when BotCon Huffer and the Voyager Seaspray were already on my shelf.

The price does seem steeper than I was expecting. But overall the upscaled size is the most important aspect. I am willing to let $10 slide as long as these remain as scout size and not smaller.

While these are still 'reasonably' priced for 3rd Party figures, I've been growing tired as **** with 3rd Party because of the prices (and 2 year teases, and overlap, and etc, etc.) The last couple mini-bots were actually a breath of fresh air being damn nice figs and wonderfully priced, though...it actually changed my opinion of iGear. I only bought Seaspay because the price was so nice. But now it's back to the same old ****. Think I'll just wait for the inevitable Hasbro release of a scout or deluxe class Classics Brawn and be happy with my legends Cosmos...which is a shame because these looked really good.

No, the point is the sig is too large and in violation of the rues. You can have one image in your sig, you have three which makes reading the forums a pain, having to scroll past it.

This is what you're doing:

"Inventing a fictitious persona with actions or beliefs which are then criticized, implying that the person represents a group of whom the speaker is critical."

You've invented a fictitious person who both goes to Botcon every year (or imports Takara figures) AND is complaining about the price of these figures, and implying that everyone who complains about the prices of these figures is part of that fictitious group. That's a straw man argument.

That's why I have sigs turned off in my options - people like him who feel the need to turn a signature line into their own MySpace page. It's ridiculous to scroll through threads where 90% of the page content is signatures.

And in the meantime I ordered one of each.

I could care less what anyone thinks of what I think of pricing but at $34 my gut-instinct isnt to reward IGear for the upswing from the last two minis (which were gorgeous and keenly priced) hence one Brawn and not two.

As to Medic and Weapons-guy.....are they ever actually going to tuen up?

Don't be a tool. These are nearly twice the price of the previous two figures. You can't debate that. I buy third party stuff pretty often too but the precedence was set by the previous figures. These are hardly marvels of engineering. So why the price hike? It can not possibly cost twice as much to produce these as before. That price is absurd.

As far as the whole “felicitous person” argument, I think some people are trying to read between the lines of my statement because they got offended. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but people who complain about spending $34 are cheap in my opinion. As pointed out earlier, 30 bucks is the going rate for an upgrade set that consists of a head and 2 guns. So $34 is not a bad price for a nearly scout sized figure. What did many people pay for RTS Windcharger when it was scarce? $40-60, right? Third party collecting is an expensive part of this hobby, and those who legitimately can’t afford it should stick to buying Hasbro products and refrain from complaining about 3rd party prices. I’m not saying that all I-Gear items are fairly priced. But I do believe these are. Don’t get mad because Huffer and Seaspray were cheaper. We just got lucky with the first two. That’s the bottom line.

Talk about about being judgemental and full of yourself.
You don't mean to offend anyone but then go on to say anyone that doesnt agree with the price are cheap and should shut up and go play with Hasbro's garbage.
I don't appreciate being called cheap after I just spent 1400.00 on a MISB Optimus Prime.
When was the last time you can say you spent that much on a figure?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and the buttheads on here that get their self worth by bad mouthing those that are just expressing themselfs seem to make up to large a percentage of this site lately. (Hence why I rarely pay it any mind..)
"My opinion", is they should have left the size alone", and because they make them an half inch taller doesn't justify increasing the price 120%.
Thats my 2 cents... Take it or leave it, either way..

Wanting to get your money's worth isn't being cheap. And it's not like people are wrong in saying these are very expencive for what they are. People would be idiots if they just threw their money at something without taking a pause to consider if it's really worth the price. A little here and there really adds up in this hobby.

That said, I don't think these guys are overpriced. The Legends class figures were $15. Munitioner and Explorer (and their repaints that came without any accessories) were $49. I'm not going to break those guys out of my collection, but these guys seem to be somewhere in the middle of that size wise and price wise they fit in there too. But I won't disagree with someone that says these guys are pricey. Like most 3rd party products, they certainly are.

I factor other things into the price. Like the fact that the shipping is free (yes, I know it's free on nearly everything) so I grabbed a MGT-01 since it's the first item I found that didn't have free shipping and went to checkout with it. Shipping on that alone came to $18 to the States and she's not much bigger than the not-so-minibots are. $18 for her alone. If you factor in the shipping savings, the price is pretty damn good all of the sudden!

I still have to order mine but I'm waiting until I get a new job.

Most of the arguments I've seen about the price are relatively fair (the ones I've read anyway). The price increase feels as if it has a tad unwarranted boost from previous figures, which were actually kinda cheap from a 3rd party standpoint. On the other hand, if you pay close enough attention, there's about twice as much plastic in these guys and clearly more engineering went in to them. Double the content, double the price.

Though admittedly I don't like dealing with iGear for numerous reasons. The one item I ordered from them (the Kup head set) had a flaw, and the replacement that was sent to me had a different problem. Not only that, but all the obvious issues that many have with the company, like the fact that they sell knockoff masterpiece figures. Oh and Hench's gun was stolen from Warbot Defendor. Keeping it classy iGear.

I would like a good classics Brawn though. I might consider it but I'll wait for BBTS to get it in, since they actually have customer service. If I'd ordered the Kup head from iGear directly I would have never gotten a replacement at all.

weren't they advertised as being due sometime this year? if that's right, then you're about 18months too early in your shipping date expectations.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

HA HA! I know your kidding, but July 15th is the date on their site.

I guess you just need to add 2 months to that then?

I hate you for being right...

iGear just updated the release date for both to 8/20/12. Was really hoping these figures and PP-05M/PP-05W would ship at the same time, but there may still be "hope" for that, as those figures got pushed back to 7/30.

I'm gonna go rearrange my shelves while I'm waiting... :BANG_HEAD:
