True, mainly because Picard would have to call a meeting to discuss his options before trying to kick Kirk in the balls.

But getting back to the Prime poll, it's a different level of retarded, like asking "Who's better: Kirk, or your grandmother (no, the dead one) in a Starfleet uniform she knitted herself?"

G1 Prime was selfless, every bit the hero with "an overdeveloped sense of honor."

For me, that will forever be an easy choice.

I think the better analogy would be "Who's better: Kirk in a yellow shirt, or Kirk in no shirt?"

Because dammit, it's the same character.

That's b/c Picard had to follow protocol. Riker was his guy to go out and kick ass. Picard was smarter, and a much better leader. And kirk clubbed baby seals for fun.

If we're going to go all sci-fi nerd, we should look at these fights as well:
Unicron vs. the Death Star
Imperial Fleet vs. Ferderation Star Fleet
Old Galactica vs. New Galactica
Jabba the Hutt vs. Captain Kirk in belly flop contest
Every Optimus Prime vs. Every other Optimus Prime
Snakes vs. Plane
My Dad vs. Your Dad

A Question for all these guys who say G1 Prime is better because he whoops on Megatron all the time. What does that say for G1 Megatron? Is he a wimp then? That would mean Movie Megatron is better, wouldn't it?

Sure, Movie Prime has no compunctions about stabbing Decepticons in the face and tearing their heads off, but G1 Prime can manipulate a basketball like nobody's business, and henceforth wins the coolness contest. Compute quickly!

Venom Phoenix wrote:Probably gonna hate me but I actually like the new Prime better. Sure G1 Prime was a much more legendary hero. But the poll was which would be better for the sequel. And personally I like a Heroic Optimus Prime rather than Legendary. I think he just fit the bill for the movie a little bit better. And honestly I see it this way. G1 is G1. You can't compare the two, the movie will never be G1 and G1 will never be the movie, you have to respect both Optimus Primes. I don't think the new Optimus Prime would ever fit into G1 and I don't think G1 prime could ever fit into the movie. Okay, I'm done. ^_^

I agree and add...

G1 Prime was cool, yes. Movie Prime was just as cool!

Like I stated before, this poll is stupid. You can't pit the two against each other. It's stupid to do so!

Someone mentioned "G1 Prime wouldn't have sacrificed Bumblebee." I say G1 Prime would. Movie Prime said the key like that makes him just as cool as G1... "We would have to harm humans to do so" (or something to that effect). G1 Prime wouldn't harm humans... Am I not correct by that statement?

Both Primes would sacrifice themselves in order to defeat Megatron. Remember "Megatron must be stopped... No matter the cost!" Didn't Prime sacrifice himself for Hot Rod?

Both Primes are the same in my book. One was just more suited for a wider range audience the other was just for the 7 to 13 audience.
Spectacular Spider-man is a better written, better animated show and has a better theme song... Hands down!

I disagree. G1 Prime would not have flat out sacrificed Bumblebee. He would have let him get captured but later plan a rescue mission.

That's what I didn't like about G1 Prime. He'd save one soldier and put the overall mission and his team at risk. Not a very good tactical desision. Besides Bumblebee's been in worse scrapes than that.

That's true, G1 Prime leads more with is heart than with his head. The only reason he gets away with it, is because he's just that damn good... or lucky, I suppose. But people who don't take risks don't become leaders. People who play it safe are either always 2nd in command or are never really considered great leaders.
