I want at least one. It sucks they choose to make him so big. I think Immpossible Toys honestly intends for people to display their products with G1 figures. But in reality, most people display their products with classics collections. G1 figures stand alone. I had no problems with Valkyrie. I decided not to upgrade to Delicate Warrior because they didnt make a Medic repaint.

I was really looking forward to Allicon but it looks too much like Quint 4 & 5 "Baliff" and "Exectioner", which had very limited ability to pose or move.

Oh forgot to comment on these guys. So I ordered two of them from BBTS since they were onsale for 30 bucks each and the moment i took it out and looked at it I decided to put it back in the box and return it. These things look terrible. No surface details at all? looks terrible in bot mode and spikes keep falling off. First time ever returning anything to BBTS even ate the return shipping since there is nothing wrong with it. its' just terrible looking to me. lol I'm doing collecting anything Quintessons related. Didn't like the sharkies, never got a chance to get the judge or any of those earlier quints. oh well..

Also have no desires to buy overly ugly Transformers toys.

I still like him. But the one I got from BBTS during their sale was MUCH more floppy than the one I got earlier.

really? what about difference in plastic? Wonder if these are cheaper made to lower its price. all the review says QC and plastic quality was great. Once I got my figures i just thought that oh right they are just promoting it. hmmm.. but maybe not.

I'll have to directly compare them, but I think the plastic quality is the same. I thought it was pretty good on both, but you and I may have different definitions of "good". I was just struck with how much looser it was overall. The first release held a pose and stood on it's own easily. The second could barely stand straight and the tail was no help.

There are differences in other products too. For instance I have the first run of their Scientist and Prosecutor. The tentacles on those are bendy for the first release and that may seem fine, but the paint stuck together one day and it just went to Hell. I rebought them later while they were on clearance and the tentacles weren't bendy anymore and the paint was much better.

I may not be a hater, but Impossible Toys should have gotten everything right and consistent the first time, This goes for any 3rd party company, but IT was pretty bad with that.

I bought 3 of them. One at the originL $80 and another 2 during the first sale when they were $50. I personally love the figure and think it fits in perfect with my classics quint shelf. Are they delicate ? Yes. Are they perfect ? No. But its a freaking Alicon. What other 3rd party was going to give us awesome obscure characters like IT did ? At the time most of the others were busy making upgrade kits to fix Hasbros screw ups. IT was designing full blown figures pretty early in the game back when we only expected them from fansproject and TFC was just starting Hercules. Alicon was an awesome figure. So are the tetra jets, mini warriors, and all the quints.

Well ... I think calling it awesome is a bit of a stretch. It's a good figure; one I like. But awesome is reserved for guys like MMC's take on the Predacons or Hegemon or even Herc (for it's time anyway). I can't say I was "wowed" by the Alicon.

The Quints were great, but they also have no moving parts. The ones that do are almost just statues. I mean, I'm glad I have them and I'm glad they were made, but they seemed to be overpriced for what they were.

As for the Tetrajets, well ... there's some potential for them to have been a contender, but they didn't follow through. Sadly I can say that for most of IT's stuff. Like you I absolutely love their ideas. A full Quintesson court, a transformable Arcee, Tetrajets, and non posable figures of guys from the G1 toon are all things I love beight brought to life. But IT dropped the ball on quality too many times.

A fun fact: Vastenka of Renderform made all the 3D models for Impossible toys ... 10 years ago! But they all seemed to have been smoothes out from his original renders. Has IT released Arcee or the Alicon right when the 3rd party scene was just getting started we may have seen them in a very different light.

If you didn't like UT's Sharkies, iGear's Sharkticon 3-pack is on clearance for $80 at BBTS:

I wanted to like them all I really did. But selling the sharkys and sending the alicons back... Do I really want to take another shot with the igears one? Lost money on both transactions lol not a huge deal but time was spent selling it and sending them back.. Haha

Wow, harsh. I liked both UT's and iGear's Sharkticons. Although iGear's Sharkticons are better made overall and look better in bot mode IMO. Still, I found UT's Sharkies to be pretty fun.

Not harsh at all. Like Gauntlet said, you have the right to your opinion. But it sounds like you don't want to take a chance because you've been burnt.

I will say this: I got the iGear black leader Sharkticon to lead my UT Sharkies, and though I like the Sharkies better as my regular minions, the iGear mold is really solid, and the plastic quality is leagues ahead. If you feel there's a Sharkticon-sized gap in your collection, iGear is worth a shot.

I'll echo megatronus' statements about iGear's Sharkticons. I have a few of iGear's products, including their minibots and their Sharkticons are their best product. The shark mode is inferior to UT's, but that's it. If I had to choose only one, it'd be iGear's.

That said I'm pretty happy every time I see my full Quintesson court with iGear's, UT's, and IT's works all together. It's really ironic that the creators of the Transformers are all done by 3rd parties. I only wish IT did the two faced Quint from Dweller in the Depths. I like how the sharks look a little different too. I think of it ike those parts of the cartoon where the same guy is drawn just slightly differently because the artist couldn't stay on model (in a good way). It just adds variety.

Whatever happened to HasTak's 30th Legends scale Gnaw toy. Was any pics ever released for either toy mode? any info on release dates? Was it ever confirmed by HasTak such a toy was getting made for Generations?

That Vastenka guy is a crappy designer. No wonder he only worked for Impossible Toys. :HEADHURTS:

Actually, the Alicon and Tetrajets were designed in 2009. About the time Defender was first announced. So it was actually one of the first 3rd party toys being designed, as I believe the only other figures out then were TFC's Roller, and MMC's Knight Morpher Commander, within a year from then. Tetrajets were my first ever design. It was completed around October 2009. Then they sat on the design for a long time. Sadly, they wanted it done soon as possible. So if they knew how long it would of been sat on, the designing part, that I could do, could of been improved. They also didn't follow many suggestions I had, like the transparent cockpits. And my request to redesign the head, when they showed me the testshot at TFCon 2012, about a year before it was released. The Alicon was suppose to be close to the cartoon design as possible, so its meant for g1 displays. When I originally started both projects, Impossible requested they be "G1", as their fans of G1 toys, and intended their products to go with that collection. There were other restrictions as well put by them, in the designing phase, like no ball joints. Alicon's design did have more detailing, but it got lost in the translation. Strangely, this only occured with them so far, and no other 3rd party company's I have designed for. What ever factory they used, didn't seem to do a good job with the CAD designs.

I bought all those IT figures and I love them all. And I display them with classics. I just don’t feel articulated figures belong on a shelf with a bunch of G1 brick figures. Honestly I wish you would spend less time designing melee weapons and start designing figures. I’m confident you could design some top notch stuff that would fit in well with classics but maintain that beloved cartoon accurate aesthetic. And I would buy them. I also would love to see you do more heads for Botcon figures such as G2 Spark/Pyro, Machine Wars Starscream, and G1 Firestar for the Flareup figure. I would be all over those.

Sorry for misspelling your name, dude. I suppose I should have done a quick google search to verify my spelling. #-o

They should definitely have taken more care with the quality of their products, like keeping the details and fixing the tetrajet's head. They should have seen that was a problem, even without your input. I guess they had their (probably financial) reasons, but it really hurt them in the end.

Even with the loss of details, I think the alicon is their best product. It'd have been interesting to see the initial renders on all of them. Do the renders on the boxes come close, or were those messed around with?

Edit:
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... 499026.jpg

found a pic of the render for the alicon.

I'm sorry I can't cater towards you specifically. Melee weapons have been a big success. The last new designs premiering at Botcon, outsold the Death Czar kit, which was surprising, as that kit did very well itself. So all that tells me is people want those types of weapons, and I have a fun time designing and manufacturing them. I do have a list of head upgrades I want to do, but some stuff takes priority. Pyro and Firestar are on the list.

As for full figures, I have to keep quiet on certain projects...
