Today I was at my local target and managed to find not just jetfire but also cliffjumper and ramjet. I couldn't wait to get home and open them up look at each one and transformer them so I could see just how close to there anime counterparts they were. The first one I opened was jetfire and I transformed him and I was like this is it wow he wasn't what I was expecting, after all hype steming from botcon not mention not being able to find him during the christmas season. I thought this must one of the best if not they best classic figure to have been released so far but. Then I got to ramjet and I was like wow he is amazing I can't beleave how close to the anime version he is even the nose cone is perfect. As far as cliffjumper goes I have to say I like him better than bummblebee I think it has to do with the paint job and wheel design. So I'm wondering if anyone else has had this reaction when they got there classic jetfire or if I'm one of the only people to feel like this.

Was there a question or something in there? I can't quite tell with all your mixed-up grammar.

I picked up Jetfire, Cliffjumper and Ramjet myself last week.

I agree that Ramjet is superb and Cliffjumper is nice as Bumblebee is, excpet that IMO they should have been a little smaller.

However, I did really like Skyfire. I am not a big fan of the supermodes, though they look badass. In regular robot/plane mode, I think he is really nice. I haven't watched any episodes outside of season one and beginning of 2 for a while, but he definately embodies Skyfire for me.

Jetfire isn't anime accurate (Transformers G1 isn't anime btw) because he is not supposed to be. Much like the other Classics figures he is a re-imagining/new take on the character. The great thing about Classic Jetfire is that he is based on and very closely resembles The Jetfire from IDW's Strombringer series. You may have also noticed Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Grimlock and Mirage don't closely follow the show versions, again this is because that was never the designers intentions.

Yours AK

Wow.. When I found my Jetfire I was blown away. IIMHO I think he is one of the nicest looking and close to G1 accurate Classics out there..

Agreed!

They really did a good job with him.

I also think they did a great job with Ramjet.

I found Ramjet and Cliffjumper yesterday morning, and the conehead version is 1000 times better than the regular seeker mold. The colors and shape are better. Cliffjumper looks better than BB too, the mold just looks better with darker color.

It is possible that time has raised expectations so friggin high that the toy becomes a disappointment. This has happened to me often. I wonder how many of my purchases are because of anticipation. My G1 Soundwave Reissue is on it's way. UPS package tracking has it arriving at work tomorrow. I will be breathless with anticipation, like a kid at Christmas, until UPS shows up. This has happened with almost all my internet orders.

But, I have to say that I am anything but disappointed with Jetfire. I have the G1 version in a Macross paint scheme and outside of being able to do a Gerwalk mode, classics is a bit better than G1. The toy construction is stellar. I am amazed at how much further plastics material technology has come in the last 20 years. (My G2 Prime has some brittle plastic issues. I'm bummed.)

I'd have to join the crowd here--Classics Jetfire is by far one of, if not the best iteration of the character since G1. And, for those of us not lucky enough to have a G1 Jetfire, this is a perfect (maybe temporary) fix!

And I also echo the sentiments that Ramjet and Cliffjumper rock!

If you were expecting a figure that was identical to the toon version of Jetfire, you may be disappointed. I don't know how much of the G1 history you know but in a nutshell:
Hasbro licenses a bunch of transformable robots to flesh out their new toyline from other Japanese toy companies. The Jetfire toy mold was licensed from a small toy company in Japan that was eventually acquired by Takara's rival Bandai. Since Robotech was going to be released in the US and if Takara wanted to use the cartoon in Japan, they had to change Jetfire's appearance to avoid any legal problems. The new character was called Skyfire. I don't know why he was named Skyfire and not Jetfire in the cartoon. Just remember that the Classics line is sort of a "if we made G1 Transformers today instead of 1984, this is what they would look like" series.

As for Classics Jetfire, I think he is the best figure in the line so far. The removable armor pieces allow for flexability in how you pose him—if you want a more G1 cartoonesque or a G1 toy look to him. Plus he is armed to the teeth

Ramjet is another good mold. An excellent homage to the G1 cartoon.
While Cliffjumper is a great repaint of BB, I do wish they remolded his head to be more show accurate.

I didn't like the images of Jetfire that were around. I didn't like the way he looked in the box either. Outside the box...

Unbelieveable.

I was/am a little dispointed with Jetfire. I think the main problem with him is that his alt mode is still too much like a Macross mech. I would rather they have done an actual re-imagining of him as opposed to the slightly different version we now have. The robot mode is alright, fairly detailed. I dont like the helmet though. Also I dont like the fact that while in jet mode his arms just basically hang off the side.

Ramjet is a good figure, although I wish they would have done something to cover up his go-bot like face in jet mode.

Cliff jumper is good. Only problem I have is that the front headlights should have been clear plastic like bumblebee instead of painted.

Jetfire is at the tops of the classics and I really like the "Skyfire" bot head. He looks close enough to the original cartoon version to me, and that's a good thing. I always wanted Skyfire.

I'm reallllly feeling left out. I might very well be the only normal poster on here who doesn't have a Jetfire.

Jetfire is top 3 in the classics line. In my opinion his is number 1 of the 3 the other 2 being Skywarp and Ramjet. Jetfire is awesome I like him without the helmet on in deluxe robot mode. my only 10 outta 10 in the classics line.

i love my jetfire. to me hes a perfect homage. hes got a lot of detailes from the macross jet, as well as some toon homages, mostly in the face, and then comic detailing.

as for the arms hanging off the side, when you have all his weapons on him, theyre a lot less noticable.

i would call this a true new classic.
