I'm not getting involved with a versus thing though the only common element is that they are comic adaptations.

No it's not.
Michael Bay did not direct the movie. Michael Bay did not write the movie.
Michael Bay produced the movie. Producers have limited input.
Give the credit to the writer and the director.

Sorry Burn, but you kinda contradicted yourself here. You said Bay didn't write or direct, only produce, which means limited input. So the film WAS missing Bay's "charm."

Shredder wasn't a white guy like some have said.
Shredder is a beast of a villain and his heavy suit didn't slow him down one bit!
The Turtles are all terrific in there personalities and features. It works well
Splinter was also a friggin beast but at the same time he was a good spirited master/father to the Turtles.
Megan Fox wasn't as bad as April as people have said. She was likable and not just cause she is good looking.
The plot of the movie is a generic bad guy/good guy plot. But what movie with hero's doesn't have a generic plot?
I prefer this movie to the crap that everybody is praising Guardians of the Galaxy. Why?
Better villain(Shredder is better than all the usable villains in Guardian)
Better hero's( I prefer the brotherly heroism of the turtles and the fact that they are really strong and know how to fight vs almost none of the Guardians being able to fight well and just use guns mainly)
As far as story both movies have ok plot's because both plot's is very simplistic. They aren't complex plots. Just simple save the day type plots.
The comedy of both films is on the same level.(Michelangelo and Rocket is the stars of both movies in comedy)
