Okay, now you've convinced me to buy Ultra Magnus. I was originally going to buy him anyway, but I wasn't if he was going to suck.

That gun/hammer looks great in both modes! That's a rare occurrence. When's the last time we got that? Megatron?

You shall lead my Bulkhead (when I get the FE version this Winter) & Wheeljack into battle, Wrecker Leader. Ultra Magnus isn't on the top of my priorities list, but if I see him, he's an insta-buy (unless I see Vehicon.......... Yeah right!)

The vehicle modes obviously ARE different in transformation, size, length and shape. That head is not Breakdown's sculpt at all. Video is really dark. A little fact checking and some lighting could have helped. Ten plus minutes of opinion isn't a figure review. No offense if the author is reading. Just, you know, do the facts and wrap up with your thoughts.

I'm pretty happy to see the Powerizer weapon actually locks in place for a change. It also looks nice to me in both modes. Real excited for the figure it comes with too. ...What? ;)

I was already planning on getting UM, but this definitely sealed the deal. I do agree that the vehicle mode is pretty drab. That's okay though because I will only be displaying him in robot mode! I think he looks great and really hope he makes an (eventual) appearance on the show! :BOT:

I'm going to either have to find somebody to give me a 2nd missile for Magnus (So he can have 2 missiles on his shoulders like in G1. Yay for shoulder ports), or buy a 2nd Magnus. :???:

This thing's all about the robot mode. It looks great so long as it's standing on two legs. Can't see much wrong with it at all.

Vehicle mode on the otherhand really does blow. The connectors for the main weapon are plain poor and the red roof is horrible. It's a bit of a kick in the nuts actually. All that money they wasted on that thick layer of red paint could've been used to paint those rims and smokestacks.

Oh well. It's still serious wantage.

Why do you need to do that? He's already got ports on his shoulders for the missile he already has to go on his shoulder. All you need is a 2nd one. ;)

vehicle mode looks terrible. I think much of it is down to the colours and lack of detail, but it's not a nice looking truck either. the gun being on backwards in vehicle mode made me think of a crane, or ladder though, so maybe such a thing could be used in a repaint/retool?

robot mode doesn't look bad. it looks like (and that's all we've got to go on from that "review") that he has okay articulation and range of movement. I quite like the transformation, like Ratchets, where stuff folds around other stuff to make him appear more solid. the hammer/gun looks decent in either mode, but the missile doesn't look good anywhere.

...it's amazing. He does get worse with each new view. That vehicle mode is a slice of AWFUL. The robot mode...I just can't get past the fact that an entire piece of the vehicle mode IS HIS BACK!

The single missile makes him look asymmetrical.

The weapon? Only positive thing. I love it. Locks, too. (MOAR of this, Hasbro.)

Pass. Even Thundertron looks better than this guy.

I mean no disrespect here, but ten minutes of opinion PLUS going through transformation IS a review, thats how he chooses to do it and theres nothing wrong with it. And while youre right, that isnt Breakdowns head, i can see the similarities to BD and Swerve so its not totally off base there. And for the vehicles, the way that panels rotate and wrap around the leg is identical. Vehicles themselves, no similarity

The lighting remark i disagree with, you could see part where the lighting had increased and the colours looked quite washed out, the levels for the majority of the review gave a better contrast for the details, plus with a backdrop like that its probably best

really cant wait to get this in hand. so excited its stupid

Maybe you could buy 2, and make one of them into Sentinel Prime...

Minus the hammer and missle though ;)

That looks kickass dude :APPLAUSE:

I'm likin this guy much more than i thought i would, he has a stunning robot mode and pretty much the best prid mechtech, right before megatrons imo.

His legs are kind of like a simplified version of dotm ironhide; anybody else see that?

Betcha that's already in Hasbro's plan for a repaint. Or maybe TFCC...

Hmm. The color scheme looks pretty good on that mold... As for TFCC...Prime figures would be the ONLY way I'd ever give Botcon my money.

In regards to the Sentinel repaint, anyone else think that when pics of Magnus first showed? Anyone?

Also, now I want to know if his instruction manual has the alternate head easter egg, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I can see it as a DOTM Sentinel convention exclusive (which would still kinda make no sense, as we already have one), but the Aligned Sentinel is dead, and I've never seen a repaint from a light blue to a dark blue:

I will be picking this one up. He will reside on my Classics shelf. This is about the closest thing to a G1 Magnus. I may try to do something about his head to make it more "G1" looking and try to find another missle for his other arm.

It's a shame he's got so much kibble on his back and hollow shoulders, and the legs/hands are pretty visible in vehicle mode. Not to mention the unpainted wheels... but he still looks really badass and I'm really loving the hammer too. I hope he shows up on the show. Definitely getting this guy. I don't even mind that there's only 1 missile, a bit of asymmetry never bothered me and at least they put it in as a nice nod to his G1 self. :D

That looks freakin' amazing, and I would totally buy it.

So if they're supposed to be wavemates... where's Skyquake?
