Although, along with poopy Kommander, I got CHMS Punch/Counterpunch. And he's actually pretty good. I was going to make a seperate topic on that one later, after I examine him a bit more.

However, I felt the crapitude that is the blue Kold Convoy and the KO City Commander set he came with together was so spectacularily bad that I felt it deserved it's own recognition. Especially since the Kold line was supposed to be high priced exclucives. I read the reviews, so I wasn't surprised, but it's still pretty sad.

I was equally impressed with my CHMS G1 Breakdown. Only thing you may notice is that in their mold, they got the holes wrong if you wanted to fit the engine piece on the robots back in “Sunstreaker mode”. The engine pegs are too fat and the holes are too small. Even the pegs on an original Hasbro engine piece are too big for the tiny holes. They have to be filed down if you want them to fit. I guess CHMS overlooked this because all 4 of their KO’s are designed to be displayed in “Sideswipe mode”. And for Punch/Counterpunch, the engine piece becomes part of his gun.

I have had my fair share of duds, but like I sad Mike took care of me whenever I had an issue. Whenever I needed a replacement, I requested that he “test” the new figure by transforming it and checking for the issue I had previously. That always worked when I got the replacement. But QC wise, my blue convoy was pretty much spot on. It did have one Autobot symbol faded slightly pinkish, but not too bad. I didn’t complain because it was meant to be displayed in the FP Armor. If you ever need insight on a KO before you buy it, hit me up. If it’s classics themed, Ill be the first one to buy it and take one for the team.

I noticed that, I tried to fit the engine on right away. I want to make a more detailed look at it. That aside, paint apps on the back bumper are imperfect, the car doesn't fit together 100%, the head pops off whever I try to move it, it felt liek the hood part was glued on and I had to really pull in the initial transformation, there's a stress mark in an unusual place (near the headlights), there's no rubsigns (naturally), and the paint on CP's visor sucks.

That said, it's tight and there's no immediate evidence of mold degredation. But I need to directly compare it to a Sideswipe to really know that. All in all, I feel it's a good product. The vehicle mode could have held together better, but it's still good. Better than the Seekers would have led me to believe.

I did read a few reviews of the Kold figure like I said, but I'm definately not impressed with this quality-wise. Quality-wise it's weak. Nowhere near the $100+ I saw on ebay recently. When something costs the kind of money this commanded at it's original price, I do not go easy on it.

As for KOToys, it's gone and irrelevant to the topic, aside from this being one of their old "exclucives". But, if you insist on bringing it up, they did do decent enough with problem solving ... when I managed to contact them. However, actually getting a hold of anyone required herculean efforts. At other online stores or individual seller I'd just e-mail someone and there was a near immediate response. Even from smaller toy stores it was like this. Not so with KO Toys. By the end I felt like I was tossing the dice on each and every one of my orders. Would it appear? Would there be a defect? How long would it take for the experience of gettign a product be over?

I know how you feel. I just was fortunate to have a good run of luck. I have the original TFCC Counterpunch, but I am thinking of buying one of those “no box” specials on the KO so Punch can be with his Autobot crew. I’m just waiting for the new Deep Cover/Scamper to be in stock, then Ill place my 1st order with chimungmung for both. Unless E-bay beats his price. I had gotten G1 Breakdown on E-bay for $40.00 with free shipping from China. You cant beat that. I had bought all those Primes from KO Toys when he was liquidating his stock. Got the SG one for $20.00 I think. And I think the Black Convoy that cracked wasn’t much more. I also got a “uncarded” KO Nemesis Prime that is bad ass for $13.00. Same quality as the others has no issues. He looks exactly like sleep mode Prime. (no Teal or con signs like SDCC version) The cracked Black Convoy just stays in his Shadow Commander shell. I’m shocked you didn’t have any luck with the seekers. Which ones did you get ?

@Rated X: I made out like a bandit during their closing sale. I love the Seeker mold and got a ton of those. And I've bought them at their original prices back when I thought the idea of exclusive KO repaints had some integrity (HAH!). Of the KO Seekers I have:
- Sunstorm
- Sunnystorm
- Air Warrior
- cheap pink Starscream
- cheap (not CHMS) Thundercracker
- Black Death Starscream
- all 3 Rainmakers
- Universe Starscream
- new KO of Henkei Starscream
- Kold klear Starscream (X4) (the first one broke and I got 3 during KOtoy's closing sale for replacement parts)

So, yeah, I got more than a few. I feel pretty confident in my assessment of KOs. I wouldn't say i didn't have "any luck" with the Seekers, but none of them are what I'd call perfect either. They range from piss poor, but cool looking, to decent, but not HasTak quality (with is acceptable to me).
