oh trust me! I really hope so too!, I'm glad I finally saw a pic that compares both the Takara and Hasbro editions... I really like the blue that Hasbro did on him, a little different from G1 but that sets it apart from the rest!

thanks for the awesome pics! ;)^

Do my eyes and ears deceive me?! Did Hasbro just release an Mp figure that's superior to the original Takara version?!!

Much prefer the Hasbro version. Brighter blue and colored eyes make it a no brainer.

Great comparison and review of the Hasbro vs. TT versions! I never jumped at the TT mold and I am very glad that I didn't. I am more than happy to own the Hasbro version! The colors look great to me and the eyes really put it over the top! The count down is on until he ships from TRU on Monday!! :BOT:

All I can say is. Wow! Wow! Did I just double post? Wow! Man, either those pics came out good or this toy rocks. Or maybe both. But this is what an mp is supposed to look like. Just checked mp sideswipe and that's not a masterpiece. Sorry. Takara-tomy sideswipe for around $83 + shipping or Hasbro mp prime for $99. For almost the same price, sideswipe looks extremely inferior. Was gonna pre-order mp ss, but forget it now. I'll wait and see what Hasbro can do to make him 80 bucks. But Optimus is awesome. Glad I preordered 2, hehe

So Takara went for a Show Accurate Blue, while Hasbro went with a Comic Accurate Blue?

Well, that makes this a tough choice...

Wait, what' that? Hasbro's Optimus has painted lights and eyes that don't look dead and sparkless?

Hasbro it is then!

Haha, I love that pic of Prime snatching the Matrix away from Hot Rod.

MP OP looks amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on him!

The lighting in this video makes the reds looks more like orange.

"TakaraTommy"? "Henkai"? Whoops.

Still kinda wish Hasbro has the silver roller since that color version is the on that was seen the most often in the fiction. Not just the cartoon, but the comics as well.

Yay! The trailers are the same silver! :D

Too bad about the lack of silver finish on the interior details of the trailer. :-(

Love those eyes on the Hasbro version. ;)^

Give me that Hasbro figure.

Very nice. They say patience is a virtue, and in this particular case it's true.
I get a superior version of the toy (in my opinion - personal preference) and save $200.
It's still overpriced but it could be worse - it could be a $20 deluxe.

Imma stick with my Takara version. In my opinion that bright blue makes the figure look "cheap" and "fake" and that painted eye looks horrible. Again it's MY opinion, no need to debate/argue about it.

Those who like it, I'm glad you can save your precious money buying this version instead.

ermegherd eptemers perme!!!

I seriously need this figure, I had the MP01 takara, huge 'n heavy. Could've killed my cat.

This version is better imho, hopefully I can ebay it for a reasonable price. Since europe always gets the shaft on anything toy related.

It'll be nice to have both versions to have one displayed in each mode. Hope to have the same equal goodness for future MP releases!

Nice review. However, you mis transformed both in Alt mode. There's a panel under both arms to cover the space between front wheel and the tank. A lot of ppl forget to unfold that panel.

I really hope I can get him today, I'm waiting for a couple of stores to open and I'll start making my calls!

I have to say, this is the first time I've been equally impressed by both versions. I like that Takara's is darker and Hasbro used the lighter animation colors, and its awesome that Hasbro included ALL of the stuff that comes with MP-10. The only thing Hasbro wins the tie with is the eyes. I don't mind Takara's as much as some people, but it would be nice if they were this bright. :BOT:

I'm glad I ordered the MP figure from Toys R Us but if I had the option between the Takara and Hasbro, I'd choose Takara. I just don't like that bright blue. Maybe I will upgrade my Hasbro to Takara one day but the only real reason to get the Hasbro is the price. I'm tempted to paint the blues darker.

Not exactly.

The Hasbro version is very nice and for the price is what most will choose.

The Takara version is actually more show accurate. G1 Prime really had a dark blue in the show. The colbolt blue on Hasbro prime seems to be the more modern take on his colors.

People are going to get mad at this comment but it's true. Just a matter of what matters to you in an MP figure.
