Twas four hours ago when I wrote that. I've opened it/played with it since then.
Anyway, this thing's pretty neat. Not quite up to par with an official TF's plastic quality, but pretty close.
Paladin has an awful lot of kibble, so articulation's a little inhibited. And he really cannot grip his two sword halves securely in his hands. Like, at all, as they just loosely sit in the fist holes with nothing to keep them in place.
But the Chaos form in all its Cubix-esque partforming glory is what this thing was made for, and it is one purdy display piece. I say "display piece" since there are some issues I have with the PCC connector joints. A lot of them are either too tight for their own good (to the point that I fear I might break one when trying to detach it) or too loose to securely hold together in place.
And with all the extra features built into this thing, I'm not too happy about the instructions being so vague about this toy's full potential. Like, not once do the pictures even mention the little flip-out gatling guns built into and hidden inside his forearms. And there's one point that the instructions call for the twin cannons to be separated, only for them to suddenly be back together in the final step, as though separating them was completely moot.
And I cannot for the life of me figure out where the two bigger machine guns (the ones with PCC connector ports) are supposed to go in other mode. I get that they can be "Arms Up!"-styled weapons alternative to his fists, but when they're not in use, do they just sit off to the side or is there a place for them to go on the figure? Best places I can find in robot mode are either on the back of his heels or jutting out from his forearms, but both of those placements look too silly.
Speaking of silly, not sure what
genius though putting Paladin's torso plate jutting out from the backside of Chaos's head was a
good idea.
Still a decent figure overall, but with some room for improvement. B+
As for pics, no pics I take can do more justice to this toy than Va'al's pics.
