Now that I have a nicer camera, I need a nicer setup to take pics, like gema. :D

I know it might be a couple of pages ago now, but I wanted to show where I am storing the last piece of Quantron's rifle on Metalstorm.

Image
It sort of sits wedged in on top. It's not very secure...about as secure as the white cannon on the bottom. But it works, and looks okay.

Image
Image
Image
The other thing I remember discussing was that the combiner feet seemed to be loose on my wings. I found out that the combination of the rifles and feet together, with the wings in the correct configuration, made for a really stable setup.

Image
Image
The rifle needs to sit in the slot on the bottom side of the wing, and the feet clip on the tab sticking out from the vertical wing.

I think that's it for now. I haven't even combined the figures yet. I'm having too much fun with the individual bots. I think that's part of the reason I like spreading the releases out over time.

Cheers!

For me personally, the title of greatest combiner goes to Feral Rex. Quantron is probably number two. But he does suffer from that annoying fiddlyness associated with FP Intimidator. Most notably with nosecone and afterburner. Sometimes I think these companies assume that all TF collectors enjoy solving complex puzzles. I dont personally. I like straight foward transformations and Feral Rex accomplished that quite well.

Nah, that prize goes to G1 Piranacon.

In all seriousness though this guy looks incredible. I like that you can use either his giant crossbow thing (or the "Shardstorm Caster" as I shall be calling it) or a more normal looking gun. The only thing I don't like is the extended mode for the bow- simply because it looks fragile and fiddly.

Thenka for the great reviews, gema. :) I don't know which one is 'greatest combiner', but Quantron's up there for me. :D
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

I might be kind of bias since I don't prefer MT/FP scale combiners. but without a doubt, Feral Rex's the best

Quantron's quality is a not what I expected it would be, especially compared to Giant.

BBTS is having a 1-day sale on Quantron for $339.99. Perfect time for anyone still on the fence to get this gift set at a substantial discount.

For that price I just had to double-dip on the set.

Let....me...drag...this...up...from...the...depths. Whew! So, this thread necro is a chance for me to show that I actually have FOUR Scattershots (not counting Cybertron Scattershots  ). I love my MakeToys Quantron and still consider him my definitive Computron. But, I always support Hasbro and will pick up the official versions too. (Hey, I also have three Brutici. [Edit] I was reading another thread...if I count FoC, Energon, and G2 paint, Plus my old original G2 version, I have 8 Brutici...Maybe this plastic crack habit is out of control...) I like the CW and UW Computrons too. If they had come out before MakeToys, especially with MT's being an expensive box set, I would probably have not gotten it. At any rate, here are vehicle comparisons for now. And for the record, I definitely think I like Scattershot's cannon girth... :-s

Love the Tron homage here.

All in all, I appreciate each figure for what it is. With the exception of Scattershot and Afterburner, there is a big difference between CW and UW versions of the same character. And while the MT versions are just a bit smaller, they look really good! Well, maybe with the exception of Nosecone. MT's version is very busy. And while Takara's is busy, it looks a bit better in my opinion.

Hopefully one day I get some bot and gestalt comparison pics...
