I would guess that it's his first suit. A lot of heroes tend to don a first suit that later changes into what we consider more "traditional"

With 13 episodes, it's possible he'll don the classic red by the end of the series. At least I hope so. I think it's based on the five issue mini-series "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear". Oh, and I saw Stick in there!

About Agent Carter, I thought it was okay for the first few episodes, then the fourth episode threw us a twist and the most recent one really picked up the pace. Looking forward to how this pans out.

Although, Anton Vanko's appearance so far is pointless and confusing. Iron Man 2 specifically states he defected from the Soviet Union in the early 60's(61 or 62), yet there he was in 1946 at Stark. My no-prize explanation: he was still a Russian citizen, and was just visiting on a work visa or whatever. I hope they do more with the character than just that cameo.

Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Rumor no more!

Marvel Press release: http://marvel.com/news/movies/24062/sony_pictures_entertainment_brings_marvel_studios_into_the_amazing_world_of_spider-man

Comics Alliance article where I saw it: http://comicsalliance.com/spider-man-marvel-cinematic-universe/

According to Marvel’s press release, “the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.” After that, that new Spidey will spin off into “the next installment of [Sony’s] $4 billion Spider-Man franchise on July 28, 2017. Kevin Feige, Marvel’s movie wizard, will co-produce Sony’s Spidey series along with his “expert team at Marvel” and Amy Pascal, the former Sony chief who’s been involved with their Spider-Man films since the first Sam Raimi film.

The press release makes clear: “Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.” But, Spidey will also become a member of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, and potentially vice-versa; the press release says Marvel and Sony are also discussing plans to “integrate characters from the MCU into future Spider-Man films.” So, hypothetically, Iron Man or Hulk or Hawkeye could show up for a cameo (or more?) in Sony’s first Spider-Man movie.

The new Sony Spider-Man movie will affect Marvel’s upcoming release calendar as well. Previously, Marvel’s own Thor: Ragnarok was scheduled to open on July 28, 2017. As part of the deal, that film is moving to November 3, 2017. Meanwhile, Black Panther, which was originally scheduled for November 3, 2017 moves to July 6, 2018. That date previously belonged to Captain Marvel, which will now open on November 2, 2018, the date previously held by Inhumans, which moves to July 12, 2019. These movies literally don’t come out for four and a half years.

So this could mean yet ANOTHER reboot, making the Amazing films completely pointless. Because there is no way they could exist in the same Universe as is. Just please no more origin stories....

However, the part about the crossover working the other way is very intriguing. Iron Spider could conceivably happen. A Spider-Man/Hulk team up film, with the Rhino being the main antagonist? It could happen! (Hulk has fought the Rhino a couple times).

And the movies being pushed back? Irksome, but considering it starts two years away and it's only for about six months at a time, not that bad.

"Introduce" him in Civil War?

Or perhaps a quick shooting for a Age of Ultron post-credits scene? (Probably too soon)

My one concern is this deal was made with Sony's Amy Pascal, who in the last week has stepped down after the "hacking" scandal.

I heard about the proposed Aunt May movie. That barely has a leg to stand on as a stand alone issue, no way could they pull it off as a film....unless Sony had brokered a deal with Fox and used Golden Oldie:

From Iron Man 2:

Jarvis: Anton Vanko was a Soviet physicist who defected to the United States in 1963. However, he was accused of espionage and was deported in 1967.

For a movie set in a comic book universe, that sounds about as interesting as the story of Superman's grandfather on Krypton.

And that's only a half joke. Syfy is making a Krypton series starring Superman's grandfather. Gotham doesn't really interest me for similar reasons(unless they time skip and actually have Batman).

The only reason I keep up with Shield is because it's specifically set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there's the chance they'll introduce something from the Marvel Universe. And I just really like Marvel. However, I will more than agree on certain points about the meanderings of the show. They keep sidestepping around and being amazed at the Kree being on Earth, which made sense in season one because Guardians wasn't out yet. It's out, we know about the Kree, now get on with it!

Probably why I almost always prefer animated TV series to live action ones, so many less restraints. Speaking of which, now that Marvel and Sony have ironed out a deal, can we get some Spider-Man direct to DVD animated features akin to DC's offerings? He's one of the most popular character worldwide!

Image

I know that's licensing sales in general, but DVD's are also a popular kids item. If they made some Spider-Man DTV films, they'd sell.

at the moment agents of shield I'd being used to introduce the inhumans though with ultron on the horizon I'm not sure what lead up they can offer.

I tried Gotham I just couldn't get into it so I dropped it like a stone. Spider-Man stand alone? Would depend on the story for me.

First of all OOOOOOHHHMMMMMMYYYYYGGGGGGOOOOOODDDDDD.

Some blogs are speculating that Marvel could (or rather should) use Miles Morales to step away from the Toby McGuire ones. Having not read the ultimate comics, I'm indifferent to this idea, but I can't help but think it makes the most sense.

I know nothing about Miles Morales at all, so I have no real thought on that matter, but Peter Parker is synonymous with Spider-Man, so I highly doubt they'll choose Miles.

Also, according to comics alliance, Sinister Six is still happening...sort of. Wall Street Journal says:

Sony will no longer release its Spider-Man villain movie ‘The Sinister Six’ in November of 2016 as previously planned, said a person involved in its production. The studio will rethink its approach to the film, which remains in development, in light of the new agreement with Marvel.

So that's one movie off the bloated plate of next year, however I am glad to see they're still thinking about it. I'd love to see a Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six movie.

Don't worry, the new head will honor the deal.
Pascal was the reason the deal originally failed. The Hacking scandal revealed internal documents (minute and e-mails) that showed that Marvel and Sony were working on this deal, the deal was that Marvel has complete creative control and the last word on direction and story elements concerning Spider-Man and the characters, so that they won't contradict Marvel's MCU plans, while Sony would retain the rights and earn 40% of all Spider-Man movie profits. In exchange for that, Sony could also make use of the other Cinematic Universe characters for the Spider-Man movies.
She refused those terms and let the deal fall through. The head of Sony proper found out through the leaks and was absolutely furious. You see, Sony only has the movie rights to Spider-Man, and therefore only earn money with the movies themselves, Marvel actually still owns the entire Spider-Man merchandising rights. So Sony earns nothing from all the Toy or video game sales, apart from a tiny licence fee for the logos and TM taken directly from the movie.
Sony stood to lose a whole lot more from not taking the deal, because Marvel would make a killing from Spider-Man one way or the other.
Like this Sony stands to earn quite well, due to the brand recognition of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the potential crossovers.

I'm positive that Pascal stepping down is directly tied with her not taking the original deal.

Yes, this Spider-Man will be a reboot, he'll make his first appearance in Cap 3 Civil War, one of the reasons Marvel even considered this deal, due to him being so important to the Comic version. After that he would star in his own movies, and have appearances of MCU characters and show up in other MCU movies as well. These new SM movies will be a reboot, ignoring the previous movie continuities, he will not get a new origin movie though, because everyone's familiar with it by now, so they'll only have little mentions of it throughout the movies.

It will also be Peter Parker, not Miles Morales.

Super, super f**king exited.
