Maybe, seems more like: "Oh no! They have such a head start, we need to catch up now" and "oooh, this thing had success, so lets try and force it into our movies, even if it doesn't work"

Seasoned with an unhealthy dose of "everyone loves Batman, so let's make all of our heroes like Batman."

That's what I believed since Batman v Superman. They've been trying to emulate all the stuff working for Marvel, without understanding why it worked.

They're literally just throwing **** at the wall and using what sticks.

Apparently it's bad. Like, the worst thing the MCU has done. It's got a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, far and away the worst-reviewed of anything in the MCU. Apparently the pacing is terrible, and the fight scenes aren't much better since lead actor has no training in martial arts and can't often use a double since he never wears his costume.

I haven't seen it yet either, I'm just relaying the reviews I've seen.
And I think, while the Thor films are the weakest of the bunch, they're still actually really fun movies. That was kind of the cool thing about the MCU; up until now, their absolutely worse had still been "okay."

See, I'm surprised Captain america: The First Avenger doesn't get more flak. To me, that one is worse than both Thor films and the Hulk film with Ed Norton. It's just plain goofy and doesn't do WW2 justice.

Apparently too "whitewashed".
It seems a white dude doing kung-fu is wrong.
(Even though he's always been a white dude and no one's had a problem until now)
