Marvel Universe Figures?

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

So the single figure available with screen accuracy is fine for me.
You can always buy the regular version and then the others are just for fun.
I've been thinking about the zip line figure myself, and stop myself every time I pass by the invisi-skin Lizard.

The humans, like Aunt May might seem boring, but others may want them, just to have something like an Aunt May or JJJ figure. I passed on the Mary Jane MU fig, boy was that a stupid move.

The zip line one looks cool. I might get the hydra-suit one too because it reminds me of a 1990's Spider-Man action figure I have. I'll probably get Venom and both the Lizards since my Spider-Man 3 Venom is out of scale with the new standard size. But I think even though Hasbro has switched to a smaller size in action figures they have come a long way with the Marvel characters. I wish Mattel would do the same with DC.

I'd actually love more human characters. I keep an eye out for figures that would fit in. I'd love Tony Stark and Bruce Banner figures.

Yea it's just a guy in a suit with a goatee, or a guy in a lab coat with purple pants. Still fills out a collection nicely.

Just had a personal day of celebration and
was surprised with a Cable figure.
While I have the baby Hope version,
I never opened. My brother surprised me with the
variant and I had to bust him out.

He's great and is super poseable!
Oversized weapons from G.I.Joe work well
with him. O.K., I've only tried the Nanite Launcher,
I'll try Destro's launcher later /:)
Cable with Nanite.JPG
008.JPG
Quick on the draw

Cable really could have come with massive weaponry.
Does anyone have big guns they use for heavy hitters like Cable?
The Askani staff is cool, but Cable doesn't hold it one handed
very well. Really want a Bishop to team up with Cable now.

I was also surprised later with the X-Force set with Deadpool, Wolverine and Warpath.
I'm trying to decide if I open it or keep it sealed. >:oP

Well, I got "Capture Trap Spider-Man" from The Amazing Spider-Man line, albeit he's a comic series figure. Not bad, but not great compared to the figures from Iron Man 2 (I haven't bought from Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers so I can't compare). He has limited articulation points which is kind of annoying, because you can't really put him in cool poses.

There is the regular Spider-Man from the Amazing Spider-Man line which is the one I would get first. He has the 20 points of articulation and no silly gimmick.
The comic series is not growing on me. Thought I would get the Dr Octopus, until I saw him in person.
I think I will get the Invisi-skin Lizard eventually. I'm still on the edge about the zip-line Spidey, too. There are some Joe toys with zip-lines coming out I think that would be fun to chase around the house with that Spider-Man.

There is a nice looking Skrull figure I noticed, in Avengers packaging I think.
I would have gotten it, but didn't have the cash on me.

Problem is, that Spider-Man (the one I have a picture of in this thread) is impossible to find. Either he's not out yet or everyone's already bought him up. I'm thinking the latter...

I've seen him recently in retail. I think they just released everything at once.
I doubt they are holding any of the movie toys back for future waves.
If you can't find him it most likely is that he is popular enough that people are searching for him and buying it first.

A better alternative is to just get a Marvel Universe Spider-man, unless
the suit you want is the movie version.
I have the Spider-Man 2099 MU and think he looks best of all the Spider-Mans available. Later waves of MU will have new Spider-Man figs to choose from.
Here is a cool list with some new versions coming out:

Well, the movie version is the one I'd like to have, just because I loved the movie and because all the other versions look the same to me. I just like the look of the new suit.

Usually they restock the racks at some point no matter what toy line it is, and considering this one seems to be all released at once I should find him. Iron Man 2 was another story entirely. There were at least several waves of those figures and I only ever saw the first one because the stores ordered so damn much of it. One I really wish I hadn't passed up was the 6 inch Mark V suit Walmart-exclusive figure. Here's to hoping he gets re-released with Iron Man 3.

I remember that being a huge pain in the but during the IRon MAn 2 line as well. I bought Whiplash and two of the drones the first time I saw them, and I only recently found them again at a local Target when the Avengers figures were first coming out. It was like they had a box in the back room still and figured now was a good time to finally put them out. I guess there was a real late wave that had this concept War MAchine in white and red paint that was some kind of 'heavy munitions' version, along with this blue Iron Man armor that said STARK RACING on it and a few other repaints; I grabbed them when I saw them and then never saw them again. Hell, it took me forever to find an Iron Monger and he was in like the first or second wave.

You know, I finally found Whiplash at...Kohl's...out of all places, along with the drones (but I never got the drones #-o ). I looked for the Stark Racing one but never found it. Most of what I ever saw were Comic Series figures which were kind of boring. It's funny though...I saw plenty of Iron Monger where I live for quite a while. I think I might have still seen some this year or late last year. But Iron Man (along with Transformers) is one series that I let way too many good things pass by. I'm still mad I never got the Mark I and the Spec-Ops (aka War Machine) concept armor from the first movie.

I never picked up the Racing one, and I only saw it once. To this day I've only seen like three Whiplashes, and they were at a K Mart. You'd think that the films' villain would have gotten better distribution.

You'd think that, but even so, action figure lines are usually chock full of the hero(es) and not many villains to begin with. There are always more Autobots than Decepticons, 50 Spider-Men and 4 villains, 100 Iron Man suits and several villains, countless Supermen and one Lex Luthor. I know kids associate with the hero more, but everyone needs a villain for their hero to bring to justice, right? It just makes sense to us, but apparently not to the toy companies.

I managed to get back out to TJMaxx and I think they were monitoring this thread.
The Iron Man toys were neatly organized on pegs. The display looked really nice with what I assume was a new case opened up. I was able to get both the War Machine figures
045.JPG

The Power Charge Armor's downfall is the lack of shoulder articulation.
049.JPG
He does feature the light up chest gimmick though, and a pretty snazzy paint job 8)

I really like the Artillery Armor War Machine. Big beefy weapons and good articulation for battle poses.
077.JPG

And while movie Destro's missile launcher seems too heavy for Cable,
War Machine has no problem lugging that thing around
075.JPG

And since the second weapon that he comes with uses the ball peg to attach at the top this makes some serious firepower.
There are gaps on both sides of the large cannon, probably for a bullet belt, that the handle for the launcher can insert into. It works better on the one side than the other.

I unfortunately only bought the comic series and not the other, although I always considered it :BANG_HEAD: . The Power Charge Armor does resemble the movie series figure, although I think the earlier movie series has full shoulder rotation, the concept armor does not(the other concept armor WM has full rotation though).

I want to actually thank you man, while doing some research and ending up at the above link, I had the idea to use the ball peg on the concept armor and attach the Artillery Armors cannon.

You'd think it would be easy, but Hasbro has proven so many times that making action figures based on movie characters that are 100% perfect is entirely impossible. I have a version of every deluxe class movie Bumblebee mold/retool ever made, as well as the Human Alliance mold. Each one of them has something accurate that the other one doesn't.

I was kind of kidding around. At the end of the day, yes even for these super cool figures that bring us limitless hours of fun(until it breaks or gets lost) it's simply a toy. I just like to have fun with them. :D

I was looking through my boxes of Marvel Universe and was taking some pics the other night. I wish I had room to display them.

I enjoy these toys for the art on their packaging as much as the toys.

Forgot all about the Moon Knight. I kick myself for not buying a second one to open. He's so pure and white and mysterious. I almost opened last night.

I just wish there was a way to switch the chest light on without pushing on the head.

Ah...I didn't see he had a chest light. And yes, the first movie series War Machine does have full shoulder rotation, but the shoulder pads kind of inhibit its use.

I just wish they would make a perfect toy, how hard can it be. >:oP

I think all the IM2 War Machines have shoulder pad issues. I've got the movie and comic suits, as well as the larger one (what is he, 6"?) and the pads get in the way on all of them. Short of molding them to the shoulder joint and not making them hinged at the shoulder is probably the only way to fix this issue, but it won't look as nice then.

I don't seem to have an issue with the shoulder pads. I think the Artillery Armor War Machine has great articulation, even with the shoulder pads. Being on a hinge they easily lift out of the way :D

I have sadly been drawn back to TJMaxx to buy more super heroes.
My latest excursion netted me Iron Man 2 Concept Series War Machine: Munitions Armor and Destroyer from the Thor line(my only from that toy line).

I have yet to explore War Machine, but I love me some Destroyer.

I've wanted him for a while and decided to go for it. If anything to help
move the stock to pave the way for more great finds down the road.
Destroyer seems like a giant among the other figures.
He towers above Wolverine:Origins Weapon X
Weapon X vs Destroyer.JPG

His light up gimmick is so much nicer being located on the abdomen rather that having to push down the head.

A very nice figure(he too needs better shoulder joints though).

I also picked up a Marvel Universe Psylocke from Wal-mart. She was being clearanced off for: $5.00
