After The Rock, Armageddon, and Pearl Harbor, Bay is tight with the Pentagon and thinks nothing of picking up the phone to get them to reroute a C130 gunship with Seals in it for a few hours. "We pay for the fuel," he says. "The military looks at this as a recruiting effort. The jargon is real. I told them what was happening, and that's what they said. I shot it like a documentary."

Ya know deep down in my gut I get the weird feeling that there is something more happening here. I mean the milltary should be busy defending our country. They shouldn't have time to go off and film a movie at a moment's notice and if they want to be in a movie so bad they should pay for thier own fuel or have stock footage of thier own to use and give to filmakers.

Also Bay is spending a ton of money on fuel I kinda would like to see the books. Is there goverment kickbacks for this? As a tax payer I want this stuff made public if the milltary is involved.

I also would love to have Micheal Bay spend sometime in an actual war. I also get the feeling he never joined the millitary and has no real life and just second hand knowlege of war.

Since he claims to base the movies off of G1 (just for the vehicular modes, or so he says) I'm going to say either Kup or Alpha Trion. In fact, I think definitely Kup. Maybe Ironhide's old commanding officer or something, maybe came to answer Prime's message. And since when as he tried to appeal to the younger viewers? *cough Bumblebee cough*
Honestly here, I think he'd definitely take a Generation 1 character. To be honest, Cybertron was terrible at any rate.

I have yet to see decepitcons turn old. It seems like the moment they start to age or be old they shoot'em and keep'em in the basment for the pension money.

When did Bay say the be base the movies characters off of G1 for the vehicular modes????

And if he did how were Baracade,Blackout and Megatron based on their G1 counterparts vehicular modes????

G1's Baracade and Blackout had completely different alt modes and G1 Megatron was not even a vehicle.

I agree that he'll ether go with a G1 character. He might even take one that was not considered old in the original G1 and tweek his character a bit.

He might even gio with a comic only character or he might make up a new one.

Bonus sections on the extra features with the DVD. He showed things from the original movie, then started talking about basing it off G1, because "Cars and trucks are much cooler than animals" or something like that.

I guess his definitional of "G1 based" is hugely different from my definitional of the term.

Simply having "Cars and trucks" isint really being G1 based. The Majority of TF lines and dominated by vehicle formers.

This is just what he said. Maybe he said it because cars and trucks explode better than animals. All of his characters were in G1, weren't they? Still G1 characters, but different alternate modes. Don't you know about the death threats because he made Prime a different sort of truck than he should be?

Except Blackout and Barricade.

Yes, their names were used in G1 (as micromasters), but they obviously aren't the same characters - they just used whatever names Hasbro still had the trademark on.

But my pint is that most TF toylines use more cars and trucks instead of animals. So him saying he based his film on G1 is a lose term.

Now I would disagree with you.

Other the Optimus Prime none of the characters in Bays film seemed like their G1 counterparts.

Not a single one.I'm not saying they werent likeable but non of the characterizations resembled the characters of G1.

And I believe that they chose the names Blackout and Barricade knowing that they were G1 names that most fans wouldnt get right away....sort of like an "easter egg".
