More TF: Fusion

Just thought I'd post a quick update on the progress of my Fusion project. All the figs here are from my 'Wave 1', and there are plenty more on the go besides these.

Image
L-R: Ratchet and Jazz. Ratchet is a repaint of Eng. Tow-Line; I'm also working on Skids from the same mould, but he's currently in several parts on my table. Both of these lads, I'm determined, will be getting a 'pants' mode. Jazz is based off Eng. Hot Shot, and he'll be acting Autobot commander while Prime's out of commission.

Image
L-R: Wheeljack, Ironhide and Mirage. Wheeljack is the obligatory mod from Eng. Downshift. I really wish I could remember who did the original wing mod for him, so I could give proper credit. Ironhide is based around Eng. Inferno; he's been on the back burner for far too long, so I intend to actually finish him soon. Basically I need to bulk and smooth out his forearms, and add detailing. Mirage has been posted before, and is a simple mod from Eng. Prowl, originally done just because I thought Mirage fit the mould better.

Image
L-R: Frenzy, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Scrapper, Long Haul, Ravage, Dead End and Rumble. Some of these guys have been posted before; Frenzy, Rumble and Buzzsaw all have galleries, and Ravage and Laserbeak were with them in my entry for Loqi's Fight Contest. Soundwave was with them too, but I'm reworking him. I'm actually considering resculpting Frenzy and Rumble's faces, though, to make them look more like the characters. Scrapper isn't a new one, just a very basic mod from Eng. Sledge, and Long Haul (from Eng. Demolishor) has now had his head fully resculpted, and I'm just in the process of repainting him. Dead End is a 'bash from Universe Treadshot. I've already slightly improved his arm articulation by modding the shoulders and elbows, and made his head less stupid-looking. I intend to re-engineer his knees too, but I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do that yet. I have a feeling by the time I'm finished with him, he's going to be barely recognisable from the original fig...

These are a couple of very minor repaints designed to fit into my Fusion storyline.

Image
Starscream, vehicle mode. All you can really see here is the repainted tail. I used a dark blue (Inscribe True Navy), and coated it with a metallic blue (inscribe Sapphire), to better match his G1 accessories. You can just about make out his repainted landing gear, too.

Image
Starscream, robot mode. Now you can see the rest of the work. As well as the tail, I also repainted his forearms and the landing gear on the sides of his legs in blue. And the 'ear' vents are now the same shade of grey as the rest of him.

Image
And he can still use his swords! In his backstory, his null rays have been re-engineered. They still work as thay always did, but they now have an additional mode, in which they can project blade-formed null fields which act as swords. These deliver a neural shock in close combat.

Image
Inferno, vehicle mode. Not much has changed with him, except that I've repainted some of his fugly blue bits, as well his head, forearms and hands. Basically, I've just tried to make him look a little more like his G1 counterpart.

Image
Inferno, robot mode. Now he carries a funky (and very versatile) compression cannon. As well as firing blasts of compressed air, he can load it with missiles, connect it to a mains water supply for a high-pressure jet, or link it to his own internal power source and fire laser blasts. Handy bit of kit, is that.

Now that is Awsome. Using Energon toys and turning them into G1 toys, Jazz is looking Awsome

Thankye kindly; glad you like. Although they started off as just geewunising toys (because the new characters meant nothing to me), I eventually started formulating a storyline round them, which is where Fusion came from. I'm also converting figs from other lines too, like Armada and Cybertron.
I've got part of the Fusion story posted here.

Man, I really want to bash a soundwarp after seeing that pic you've got there. Although for some reason Soundwarp makes me think of a fusion of Skywarp and Soundwave.

BOT I love this whole fusion line you're coming up with Ramrider!

I've actually nearly finished Ironhide now; I just need to tidy up the paintjob, although I'm thinking of adding a little weathering to him. He's looking to me like that'd suit him.

Any comments or suggestions (aside from the obvious, Tramp...)?

Any way you could build some flaps to conceal his arms and legs in vehicle mode. Thats something that has always annoyed me about that mold.

It's actually just Prowl's head. I pulled out the exhaust pipes, and then sculpted the grille pieces on the sides using green putty.

Thanks.

I'm not sure I get it, though. Are you planning to turn E-Prowl into a proper Prowl? I've not really seen E-Swoop, so I'm not sure what the head looks like...

i'm turning him into mirage too, was going to be blue with white, but after seeing yours, he might be white with blue.
