This is a figure I’ve wanted to do for a while, but just didn’t really know
how I wanted to do it.
The Base figure is the recent Sasquatch BAF Series Domino. As-is, the figure is really good, with an awesome head sculpt and the “EXTREME SOCCER” shin guards, and the all-important, totally tactical sexy low low low cut catsuit. And I know it’s rather minor, but I especially like belt she comes with. It seems to naturally sit higher on her right hip than on her left, which fills her with a “totally rad 90s attitude” (patent pending).
A few things I
didn’t like though:
1. Those stupid purple Nerf guns are stupid and purple. But mostly they just don’t fit into her hands very well.
2. I didn’t like the arms, as they just looked disproportionately skinny compared to the rest of the figure, and the gauntlets didn’t mesh particularly well with the shin guards.
3. The feet. I like that they had treads on the then, giving them a more tactical look than the typical superhero form-fitting flat shoe, but I didn’t like that they were very Clog-ish, and all I can picture is clown shoes when people wear clogs or Crocs. *shudder*
So a few waves later, Hasbro finally made an amazing Amazing Geenpool figure, with some much nicer gauntlets, and I knew I had my replacement for Domino’s own arms. Later still, a another Deadpool wave containing Lady Deadpool had the first (to my knowledge) use of some nice thigh pouches. And still later still, we finally got a hella good X-Men wave, with the Punk Storm, and her high-heeled boots work just right on Domino.
Thus, a few “boil-and-pops” later, a Domino was born. This was so easy to do once I had all the pieces; once again, very little painting was needed, all I did was paint her upper arms flat white to give her a more iconic sleeveless look, and I painted Gwenpool’s gauntlets and Lady Deadpool’s leg pouches satin black.
The pistol is from the Marvel Knights Man-Thing wave, and the sniper rifle is from one of those G.I. Joe rip-off things, like “The CORPS” or something,
Enjoy the pics, and let me know how you like it!
