Profile:
Most Autobots don't realy think much of Sparkplug- he's a good kid, but what's he think he's doing in this war? Most Autobots haven't watched as Sparkplug calmly steps up to the battlements of a besieged fortress, takes aim with his Photon singularity pistol and brings down a Decepticon Jugernought with three precise shots to its gravity stabliser.
On the battlefield, Sparkplug remains calm and collected, moving from place to place setting up the next careful shot. When not on the battlefield, Sparkplug is unasuming and easy to overlook, a trait he has put to good use on occasion, sliping under Decepticon defences on recon, information gathering and sabatage missions.
Sparkplug is friendly and helpful, prepared to go well out of his way to help a friend, but quite humble of his skills and achievments. He has a slightly wry sense of humour, and his fellow Autobots are never quite sure when he makes a joke.
Sparkplug has resisted the suggestions of some that he should turn his talents to assasination, as he abhors the consept; if at all possible, he will spar his target's life and shoot to incapacitate.
More than anything else, Sparkplug wishes there could be a peacful sollution to all this fighting and destruction. He was a student before the war drew him in, and just wants to go back to his data files and renewable energy research studies.
Abilities:
Sparkplug's vehicle mode is more quick and manuverable than flat-out fast. Able to accelerate to 180km (forgive me I'm Australian, I don't know from miles)in 45 seconds and stop with 5 meters from top speed.
His Photon sungularity pistol fires a blast of super-concentrated light at Sparkplugs target, hot enough to melt through most armour in an instant. Once having penetrated, the energy does little damage, but will fuse joints and melt circuitry, puting an enemy out of the fight.
Sparkplug's internal Enegon well allows him to store-up Energon to consume it in a rapid burst of speed and activity. In vehicle mode his land speed is more than doubled, and in his robot form his speed and reflexes are similarly increased. This boost is shortlived, and will end after about 30 seconds; if Sparkplug continues to burn Energon beond this point he risks burning out his curcuitry permenantly. After burning his Energon well, Sparkplug is near exhuastion.
Weaknesses:
Sparkplug's size and reserved nature make him easily overlooked by his fellow Autobots. His low level of firepower means that if he misses a vital shot on the battle field he may be in big trouble. After burning his Energon well Sparkpug is close to exhaustion and his ability to flee or defend himself is greatly reduced.
Sample Post:
It was a tight spot. Ironhidehad been in tight spots before, but this was a real doozey. Optimus had sent him on a recon mission to scout out some strange Decepticon activity. Fine. No problem. Eccept that Prime had also insisted that Ironhide take this new pup, Sparkplug along. "Show him the ropes," says Prime "I think the kid's got potentual." The kid might have potentual, but he sure doesn't look like mutch; little orange thing, quiet as you like. Looks like he wouldn't scare a cybercat. "Well, as long as he doesn't get in my way," thinks Ironhide, and then he doesn't think about him at all.
All the way to the hotspot, Ironhide near forgot about this kid he had taggin along, even put on some speed 'till he spoted the kid in his rear-view; Ironhide wasn't sure if he was more surprised that Sparkplug had kept up, or that he'd forgoten the young 'bot was there at all.
Three miles out they transformed and continued on foot. Ironhidehad a Comm-Sat link device, linked to Teletran-1, said Decepticon readings were just up ahead. They soon found canion ridge overlooking the hotspot a mile or two away. Below, tiny green vehicles were constructing a tall metal tower. hmmgh. Constructicons. "Alright kid, we need to move in, get a closer look at whetever those 'cons are cookin up."
"Whith all due respect, sir, I think I'll be better off reconing the area myself. I'm... a little smaller, less likly to be seen, sir."
Ironhide was momentaraly speachless. huh. kids got a vocalator unit after all. "alright, kid, you want go take a look, you go take a look. But don't do nothin stupid; those constructicons are truoble one-on-one, but you don't wanna mess with the whole bunch of 'em."
"Yesir. I'll take that under advisment." and like that the kid transforms and takes of round a bend in the canion, leaving Ironhide scratching his prossessor. "'Under advisment'. What is that s'posed to mean..?"
Some 20 Earth-minutes later Ironhide is stretched prone on the canyon's edge, watching the scene below with an occular enhancing unit. no sign of the kid. He should be down there by now, and Ironhide can see every entance point from here, so the kid can't have... oh, wait, what's this? The 'cons're droppin everthing and headin for that opening in the canyon wall. Have thet seen the kid? Can't see from here. Zoom in maybe... Sudenly, Ironhide's enhanced vision is filled with a huge Decpicon brand. He pulls back from his OHU in time to see Scavenger bring around a huge weapon, scorching a flaming path towards him! "Hey buddy. Need a light?"
Ironhide rolls to one side and kicks Scavenger solidly in the chest. "No thanks. Tryin' ta kick the habbit!" Stumbling backwards, Scavenger tumbles of the edge of the bluff, disapearing below. "Better get down there, finish him off before the rest of 'em show." But before He can move, Ironhide is rocked by a sudden tremor. A second knocks him sprawling, inches from the edge. He rolls over as a deap, dark shadow blots the sun... "Aaw, Primus..." He spins away at the last possable moment, as a fist the size of a lorry drives into the hard Earth beside him. He pulls his leggs up to avoid the second. It was a tight spot, alright...
The massive metal monstrosity threw back its head and belowed in victory "DEVISTATOR!!" And saises its fist for the final blow... and hesitated. On the next ridge over, a cloud of dust was rapidly aproaching. Something was comeing, fast but small... Threat? Devistator smash threat! The giant shifts his lumbering frame just as the small orange object launches into the air, transforming as it goes and firing six precise shots at the behemoth. Sparkplug skids to a landing next to Ironhide "Sir, I don't think we want to be here right now," With surprising speed the smaller Autobot throws them both down into the ravine. Above them, Devistator staggers, struggles and collapses into his six componant parts, raining Decepticons down on the rise where Ironhide and Sparkplug had been just moments before!
Stunned Ironhided turned to his smaller comrade "What did you do...?"
Sparkplug looked abashed "Oh, I ah, I wasn't at all sure that would work. I shot out their guestalting plates. I Figured that would force them apart. Looks like the sudden shock of forced separation has nocked their cuircits about."
Ironhide survayed the scene, and sure enough, the 'cons were out cold. He drew his trusty blaster and took aim as Scavenger "Guess I'll just take out the garbage..."
Sparkplug put his hand on the older warriors arm "No time, sir! I've bot a complete scan of that tower they're building, and prime's going to know all about this.
Mercy? You want MERCY?! I'M CHAOTIC NEUTRAL!!
