Looks like the 'automorph' feature doesn't ruin this figure. He actually looks fantastic, I'm definitely getting him now!

Isn't the automorph feature supposedly restricted to the Leader-class figures? Did the deluxe Starscream have it?

Meh. I don't think much of it but it does look 10x better with the translucent pieces. The painted windows seen on the test-shot ruin it for me.

Looks ok, needs detailing but a fairly decent look. I think the head needs work though.

Nope, they all have it.

His eyes look freaky! Like they were taken from some real person.

"Details of Bumblebee's chest: this figure has a spring action that when the chest folds, the headlights pop out and go forward while the lower part of the front stretches out, as if it was "automorphing" into Bumblebee."

That's automorphing? Minor parts of the transformation are spring-loaded or gear-assisted? I think that sounds quite good actually. Like they took the idea behind Nitro Convoy/Override and integrated it in such a way that the toys can still have a traditional transformation- just with a little bit of 'help'. I think it's a great little play feature, and I'm sure kids will love it.

If only Hasbro had known that TFdom is collectively allergic to the word "morph"...

You know, I may be grasping for straws here, but his face almost looks like it's a bit of a hybrid between the original toy's faceplated...er...face & the classic mouthy one we all know from the show.

....kinda.....

Can't say I am even "whelmed", let alone overwhelmed, by this one. The final painting had better be decent or this will never see the cool ambiance lighting of my collectors case.

well I still can't believe they haven't incorporated a "battle mode" face sheild into the final toy mold?? it just makes me think I'll have to look at that ugly mouthless face forever!! I want a bumblebee that can move his faceplate down from teh top of his head into battlemode, it just seems cheap without that feature!!! Damnit Hasbro, get it right!! I hate the actual bumblebee face and I think the face shield version looks much better and more bug like..

This is still only a test right? He needs some paint to bring out the details.

Objectively speaking it looks like a well made and fun toy. I'd like to see it repainted as a noncanon Decepticon, but given Ryan's argument regarding the legal issues between Hasbro and the studio, I doubt we'll see many repaints.

Unfortunate for Ratchet as well.

You know, with all the exposed skeletal bits of the movie style, I could see kitbashing Bumblebay into Bludgeon...

The story of my reaction to the movie toys.

My responces to every one follow one of two possible reactions.

Number one: Euw, it's horrible, uglier than sin and twice as disturbing.

Number two: My god, it's soooo ugly it comes right round the back and becomes good. I dont know why I like it, but I do.

Bumblebee is a number two.

Not bad. Not a huge fan of the legs, but otherwise he's pretty good(even the head; it reminds me of the old head the original Bumblebee had).

Overall one of the few they didn't completely, horribly screw up.

Looks promising. I can't wait to see it fully painted. Although I am curious as to why we haven't seen a toy for Bumblebee's upgraded body yet. He does upgrade from a 70's Camarro into an '05 or '06 model in the film right?
